Depending on player availability and injuries, midfield could again be a major headache for us. A lack of outball/pace/creativity and possibly defensive qualities are a concern. Hopefully Belic will be fit enough to make his debut on the left hand side. Wide right is not a problem where Cadden has cemented his place but the middle is still our achilles heel.

Really need to win this one but in order to do so will probably need to score 2 goals. With Moult back that may be achievable. Defeat would be a bit of a disaster and would then require is absolutely winning at Firhill next week as a solitary point from games v Ross County, Accies and Thistle would have me in full blown panic mode!

Growing up in Hamilton, the Accies derby was always more important. Play a team 3 or 4 times a season, however, and it stops becoming such a big deal.

As for Airdrie, I'm amazed at how people easily accept them as the real deal after they were liquidated and came back only via the Clydebank / Airdrie Utd route. That's the kind of thinking that let NewRangers convince the media they are OldRangers.

I would like to see us 4-3-3. Hoping Moult is deemed fit enough to start:

Samson

Tait Heneghan McManus Hammell

Cadden Lasley Clay

Bowman Moult Skippy

I have a feeling though McGhee will have Chalmers in there and play a 4-4-2 though.

I don't think it will be a walkover but I think we have enough to win it.

I'm interested to see if he starts Moult or brings him off the bench again and introduces him back to the team gradually, given the step up for Bowman switching those two after 60 mins could work for both in terms of getting them minutes on the park.

Genuinely no idea what sort of shape he'll go with. Could be a solid flat 442 with Chalmers or a 433. I think with the players he has at his disposal now he could even go 4312 or a 442 diamond. I could see us going with that lop-sided 442 that worked quite well last season with Ainsworth as the winger, though in this case an inverted winger.

Samson

Tait Heneghan McManus Hammell

Cadden Lasley Clay Ainsworth

McDonald Bowman

You've got options off the bench in Belic, Lucas, Thomas et al too.

I dont think there are many in the Motherwell support who take either particularly seriously
