wellsince75
Good news kvv will be at FP at the weekend bad news he won’t be in our dressing room if we can’t match up to st mirren or killie in terms of salary when we’re running small squad I seriously worry about our way forward as a club
steelboy
Questions need to be asked. We pay out more on wages than St Mirren or Killie going by accounts but we can't afford to make KVV a decent offer despite being very low on numbers? I think what we can take away is they spent 1.4 million less than us in salaries. We lost a million, they broke even and just wait until we publish 2023 in line with them. 2 manager sackings and panic buys to stay in the league. That for me is why they are stronger just now and we are tightening up the purse strings. The board cant lose 7 figures two years in a row of "our money" in some ways. So get used to our new tighter squad whilst we work towards Break Even.

As someone pointed out on twitter a few days ago St Mirren are getting bigger crowds than us just now. More gate money coming in. Its always going to be tough for a club like Motherwell given that we are fan owned and have a relatively small core support Correct look at the correlation of the league table. The bottom four are in exact order, the bottom four. https://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/scottish-premiership/attendances

Half and Half I'd say this and salaries. Although one year out in comparison - later this month we can compare like for like. Turnover : 5.5 MILLION (St Mirren had same) WAGES: 5.2 MILLION (St Mirren 3.8) Other OPERATING EXPENSES: 2.1 MILLION (this is where the pitch comes into play - and savings here would have cut the million loss)

steelboy
The charity thing looks like a typical third sector scam where the charity get funding from the Scottish Government then spend it on services provided by St Mirren. Middle class people bumping third sector money is the second biggest industry in Scotland after drug dealing so St Mirren could do well out of this. Well-Made
If this is true and he really is on 10K a week, no wonder we're not competing. We can use 6k a week better elsewhere. In the meantime one of those two will be helping Gronigen pay off the fee they are due us. https://twitter.com/Scoabin88/status/1753100536352772280/photo/

Running a wage bill of 3million. Still pretty hefty. Have a high list of creditors and borrowed 1 million from Scottish government. More difficult to decipher until later this month and the accounts of the return to the SPL. My gut is if Billy Bowie wants something then he will put the money in. So how come they can purchase 27.5% of the Clubs Shares? The answer is that Charities such as Kibble are allowed to invest funds on the basis that the kids they look after receive a direct benefit as a result. They have a working Partnership with St Mirren that benefits both parties. They also provide additional support in non playing areas that is of mutual benefit. Basically they are paying for a service, which as a by product provides benefits to Saint Mirren and reduces their own outgoings.
