So what is it you’ve a firm grip on?

This making sure you push a deal over the line has no circumstances?

It’s not great, most recognise that. Market conditions dictate otherwise.

Market conditions 😂

Have any of our rivals managed to bring strikers in?

Laugh all you like. It is what it is. At least it ain’t contradictory like that firm grip you’ve got.

rivals? Nobody of note except perhaps Dundee? Others weren’t even on our radar despite what some on here think.

Despite the injuries & departures and all of our pissing and moaning, goal wise, we recruited more successfully than anyone outside the Old Firm. Now we need another rabbit or two out the hat.

Oh yes please

So, after this weekend I have to say that I've officially been won over by Theo Bair.

As most of you know, I had very little hope of seeing him be a success at Motherwell, despite really hoping he would be. He's worked hard and has proved his doubters, including me, wrong. And I've never been happier to be wrong. We all love a "lad comes good" story, and this is one of them.

Let's hope it continues for him and he can even hit double figures!

Well said sir, love your honesty.   I think the Bair's workrate worked in his favour as he always gives it his all. Hopefully can keep up the good run

Will you also admit that the manager can see things in a player you can’t ?

He always put a shift in even when he wasn't scoring. That was obvious.

I'm more than happy with Bair's contribution so far, although my expectations were similarly low. When we signed him I assumed we saw a big athlete and hoped we could teach him enough football to be useful, and that's kind of what we've done. I'd say that Bair has moved on a bit from being just a "project" but he would benefit from having a striker near him.

We are doing that thing that motherwell does. Bring in a player that no one else wanted, make him look good enough that another club will bite and give us money, then cancel the magic spell the minute the money hits the bank. Any questions? Ask Aberdeen.

I think you are being a wee bit hard on yourself. You were certainly not wrong to question the signing for the valid reasons you highlighted. He is doing well now and his attitude and effort sets an excellent example.  Whether he is a long term solution remains to be seen but for now the project has worked fine. He needs support up front though and he should hit that double figure tablet.
Well  said though.

P &B Rumour: Blair Spittal offered a PCA with St Mirren

Yeah, I heard that last week also and it has been in the works for a while. They paid over the odds for O'Hara and Mandron recently so won't be too surprised to see him rock up in Paisley.

That would be a sore one to take. For all he has some detractors on here, he is easily our most important creative player right now and we should be doing everything we can to keep him. I suppose being offered a PCA doesnt mean he will accept it, so we have to at least match the St Mirren offer. It cant be miles away from what we can afford.

Losing Spittal to a direct rival would be a big blow. His goals and assists have been vital for us, and he's probably and deservedly one of the first names on the teamsheet.

Well said David. Honest of you and sometimes good to be wrong.
