Well you can take a lecture from me, I have been going to Fir Park for the last 60+ years and have always thought my team would win, whereas you always predict a defeat, doom and gloom and the end of the world, so, put a sock it!!!!!!!!!.

Good for you, do you want a medal?

I don’t take lectures from anyone, so you can just pipe down.

Thoroughly enjoyed that win. I didn't have a clear view of the handball incident but when checking scores etc at half time it was considered harsh by reports on BBC even viewing the match thread over on P&B several posters suggested the same but having seen the footage back it was a penalty all day long, don't know why it took so long to arrive at that decision though.

We were probably lucky with the chalked-off equaliser as it looked more of a coming together but Anderson, Brandon and the wee banjo-looking guy from Deliverance were all quite cute with the barging into our players just as they were about to win headers.

Bair was unlucky with his acrobatic effort but Nicholsons drive was tremendous, probably well further out but it was reminiscent of Seedorf at Tynecastle.

Theo's run and header was another excellent finish and it was great to see Casey notch another. The only moan is that Livi scored with the first effort they had on target which has happened numerous times this year but it was nice finish tbf. It wouldn't surprise me to see Nouble play for another Premiership side.

I didn't have a good enough view at the time so couldn't comment, but yes, the TV highlights suggest that it was a penalty. The defender wasn't jumping or off balance, but his arm was out and appeared to move towards the ball.

The chalked off equaliser? It happened not far from us and we had a grandstand view. We were all shouting for a blatant foul, which it 100% was. The only issue was why the ref allowed play to go on.

Yes, Livi were quite streetwise; quite a few instances of our lads just about to make a pass when they were pushed/punched in the back and made to look really quite foolish with a misplaced effort.

Nouble has been wasted at Livi. He's got all the attributes to be a solid centre-forward, but Martindale has often had him playing left wing, which he also seemed to play a fair bit at Aldershot Town. I think he would easily be a 10+ goal-per-season striker in the right team. His headed goal on Saturday was decent, but it caught Kelly in no man's land.

Reading back over your recent posts on this thread:

If someone is a long time supporter, or a "faither" in your terms, their opinion is irrelevant.

If someone is a long term supporter who can't attend often due to geography, their opinion is irrelevant.

So:

1. If someone has been to more games than you, don't give you a lecture.

2. If someone has been to fewer games than you, don't give you a lecture.

It would appear that the only opinion that matters is yours and that if any lectures are going to be given, then you are the one who will do it. In which case, may I respectfully suggest you have a talk with yourself.

PS. I'm a "faither", who attended his first game in 1967, I possess a season ticket, so go to the same number of games as you (approximately). I am annoyed when we lose, happy when we win, and these emotions generally last a few hours or so after full time, this probably means I'm unlikely to suffer an aneurysm due to something as irrelevant as a football result, can you say the same?

I think we all need to take a deep breath.

It doesnt matter how many games someone does or doesnt go to or how many years they have supported the team.

What matters is our support of Motherwell FC.

If you give an opinion, be prepared to debate it and back it up. Because sure as shit someone will disagree.

Try not to make it personal, or take it personal (hard sometimes I know) we are after all, all on the same side.

Some folk are always negative, some folk are always positive. Thats life.

Well I would have thought that people would be able to read the slight tone of sarcasm in my reference to “faithers of the support” but I’ll explain anyway.

By that term I’m not referring to people who have supported the club and or attended matches regularly for 40/50/60 plus years, it’s more the types who try and tell others how to support the club that I take issue with.

For example “I can lecture you because I always think we’re gonna win and you don’t” to paraphrase a poster earlier on. Really? Come on! It doesn’t matter to me if you’ve followed the club since 1950 or since last Tuesday evening once Reporting Scotland had finished, don’t tell me how I should or shouldn’t support the club when I have put in plenty of years and invested time, effort and money supporting Motherwell FC.

Obviously I respect the guys/girls who have faithfully and loyally supported the club for many, many years going back to well before my time. Good on them.

In this environment, an online message forum and the same applies to social media there just seems to be this element who rather than discussing the team, the club and everything relating to it are more interested in making cheap, petty remarks to other supporters and going down the ‘one-upmanship’ route and THAT is the type I’m referring to when talking about “faithers of the support”.

If I ever think there are gloom and doom merchants on here, I'll just recall the guy I encountered online on Saturday night. No point in celebrating a 4-1 win, because in 66 years of supporting Motherwell, he's had one single enjoyable day - 18th May 1991.

Mind you, he also wished we were as successful as East Fife and Dunfermline, so he might have a few cards missing.

A little flashback for some of the older folks. 😃

I didn’t say that it did, I was merely making an observation that the more vocal “faithers” of the support, particularly on here tend to be the ones who don’t actually attend games. I’m not interested in the reasons they don’t or can’t go, that’s their business, but it’s a bit rich when these types get all sanctimonious and start riding about on their high horses with fans who actually were at the game.

Except you did, it was in response to a post calling responders to our win "sanctimonious pricks"

Ah, the old "it was just a joke" excuse, it didn't work at school and it doesn't work now. Plus, did no one tell you sarcasm is the lowest form of wit? I think you have shown them to be correct.

No one is telling you how to support the club. You can go along to games and moan like fuck in your seat if you like. But what people can do, on this forum at least, is call you out on your nonsense.

As I've said before, you have the right to be negative on here as much as you like, so long as you don't break any forum rules. But just as equally, others have the right to call you on that so long as they don't break the rules.

It really is that simple.

Good job we didn't lose on Saturday,  imagine the forum then? 🤪🤪

Can we not all just be happy we had a fine 4-1 win?

If this is us when we win 4-1 against the bottom of the table side, can you imagine the sheer anger and frustration if we ever won a cup or something again? This place would be unbearable.
