I don’t think there’s big weight on the heading of captain for smaller provincial clubs, I think it tends to be more looking after tickets on match days etc and I have no doubt McGinn will still be dealing with that even tho he’s injured.

We have more vocal guys there who are more captain like in Gordon, Halliday and Casey etc so I don’t see the burden affecting him. If anything it’s a great move for the club as Lennon being a club captain at 18 will add a few quid on to his eventual transfer fee.

i just hope we don’t freeze, the talk there about the last rangers cis final has given me the fear, can we not just concentrate on the semi and Moults goals…. No more Vietnam flashbacks of big Marshall allowed please

I don't know about freezing, but we will have a few starters who haven't played on this size of stage before - so we (and they) will learn a lot about how they handle it.

If they all handle it like Moult, we'll be fine.

I think a lot rests on the attitude of the Rangers players. They will know that a defeat will see the manager gone. If they support him then they will be up for it. If they don't then they might not be at their best. We need to get in their faces from the start. Get them on the back foot and the crowd will turn on them.

They might be a bit edgy and lack a bit of confidence if things go against them, but they will want to win as much as we do.

Any thoughts of Rangers not being up for it are ridiculous. Any team in any semi-final wants to get to the final. However they may be a bit fragile so as has been mentioned several times, if we can rattle them early and actually score a goal or two it might drain their confidence a bit

an absolute roller coaster for me as I feel we have a great chance IF we perform on the day BUT let's not think this gers team are rotten, they are still a strong outfit.

For me it's also enjoying going to the game with my mates but also looking up and knowing my dad will be looking down willing the lads on. He is reason I am a well fan and you know what it was best decision he gave to a wee Hamilton lad.

Us getting to Hampden for a Semi Final/Final is huge for us as a club.

The number of tickets sold alone is a clear pointer to that. It’s a big occasion that doesn’t come around often and when it does then it’s something to look forward to and gets the mood around the club and the support fired right up. 

As for the game itself, Rangers aren’t on the same level as Celtic, who we did okay against in the early stages last week, but they are still man for man a stronger side than we are and we are second favourites going into this one.
 

We do have a chance but as I’ve said before when we are facing them when they are coming off a bad run and all the pressure is on them then it usually ends badly for us.

Rangers will always be favourites in these ties but this is a great opportunity to beat them in a semi final.

Clement is under huge pressure and failure will see Rangers implode.

Missing O'Donnell and McGinn with their experience is a bit of a blow though.

Fingers crossed though, it would be a nice boost personally since I have a pretty shitty week coming up!

A fair assessment even if he does have an extremely annoying accent and a doofus bunnet.

Our last five games against Rangers at Hampden have been tight affairs with the obvious exception of the 2005 LCF. Unlike when we play Celtic there we always seem to manage to at the very least score against Rangers at Hampden so there are reasons for optimism.

The Scottish Cup Semi in 2003 still grates at me as we had them that day and Clarkson missed that sitter when we were 2-1 up and we end up losing.

At the risk of sounding like MJC, im worried about the optimism & stars aligning.

Rangers are in dissaray, this is a big chance to beat them when it matters....... could end up getting humped 5-0

Buts lets forget that. 3-1 to the good guys & we can twist & shout all week long

Aye I’d feel more comfortable if there was the usual smugness and expectancy coming from Rangers. 
 

Wins over them are few and far between but for as long as I can remember where ever we’ve beaten them it’s been when it’s been unexpected. When we beat them back in March they were on a good winning run and thought they were shoe-ins for the league. Then there was the playoffs where they were favourites and even when we beat them in the 2017 Semi the sponsors and the tv companies built the two semis up as preceding an Old Firm final with their two badges blown up in the foreground and ours and Hibs badges small and in the background like an afterthought. 
 

The fact that they are getting a hounding by the media and their fans and there is almost a belief that we will beat them from certain quarters doesn’t sit well with me.

Im looking forward to tomorrow but can’t help but think it’s going to be a sickener for us.
