It's either going to be a brilliant night or a right sore one for me. Hopefully, we'll be kicking off the night with 'Twist & Shout'. I did that the night we beat them (when Kettlewell was manager) and instead of the usual.....good evening, welcome to the <whatever boozer>, I started with good evening, here we go.....if you know, you know ! Do your band play only their own songs - do they do Muse covers - asking for a friend

Don't get me wrong I'm not a fan of Rangers but if Motherwell had been in the same position pretty sure Motherwell fans would have kept supporting the team. Fans aren't to blame for the arse the club made of things Yep of course Motherwell fans would have done , and they did in 2002 of course in our time of trouble I was meaning we did not have the same level of hatred towards everyone else at the time , when it was clear they did
MJC
Well regardless of whether it was driven by defiance or just plain support for their club, Rangers fans did turn out in big numbers when they were in the lower leagues. MJC
Well I see Rangers drew 1-1 tonight and progressed to the next stage of the Champions League. A good result for them and our Andy (Halliday) looks pretty chuffed in the studio. It’s always better for us facing them on the back of them having a good result rather than them losing and having more to prove.

Clubs should be encouraging fans to attend matches, charging £34 a ticket is not the way to do it, a ticket, pie and bovril and you are already nearly £42 down. witchfindergeneral Posted yesterday at 11:59 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 11:59 AM Out of interest, what was the price for a Cat A ticket in previous years? Season tickets have obviously went up and I noticed at the Morton game the cost of pies/juice/meal deal etc had all been increased.

Is that true? There's an article in The Scotsman today about the cheapest adult tickets at each of the Premiership grounds. Hearts are £24 Then a few teams including us are £25 £26 to watch Livi £26 to watch Hibs Killie £28 online, £30 at the ground St Mirren £28 Dundee £30 then Rangers £35 and Celtic £36 So, no, not true if those figures are accurate. FirParkCornerExile
We charge the OF is what they charge our fans. I'm not defending these high prices but sure as fuck if they charge us £34/£35 we should charge their fans the same.

mio
18 minutes ago, wellgirl said: We are charging our fans the same apart from the Hunter stand as far as I'm aware. Our lowest home support numbers are always against Celtic and rangers every season for a number of reasons eg listening to the poison and parents not taking their kids etc but also for the cost as well. I always think they should offer season ticket holders to bring a friend for half price or something in theses games, it’d certainly look better for televised games but it’d also p1ss off every single old firm fan who’s shelled out £34 a ticket.

I don't go to Celtic or Rangers games at Fir Park - I always make sure someone gets my season through. I've actually sat watching the game in the pub before when someone has had my season to watch the game - last Motherwell Celtic game I saw at Fir Park was probably skippy Sunday. (apart from the ones I stewarded at). It is a lot to shell out for folk who don't have a season ticket

I would never know what Wellgirl says... The SPFL rules state Pricing ...... there are some restrictions, such as away fans not being charged more than home fans for comparable seating. The Hunter Stand is in effect converted terracing whilst the the other three are genuine stands and as such the comparable seating rule doesn't apply. Therefore if we reduce the prices for the home fans for comparable seats in two stands we would need to charge the OF fans the same for the McLean stand. The prices are scandalous but if we are prepared to accept the cash hit we can lower the prices for everyone.

To put the prices up for each stand in order to cash in on the toxic atmosphere that the Old Firm bring along to Fir Park whilst also putting your own fans off is poor. Its always been that way since Cat A and B pricing was brought in but to go from £26 to £34 is getting a bit beyond the average fan, as well as putting up concession pricing which is a concession for a reason from £19 to £26 isn't great. To watch 4 old firm games a season on their own now comes out at £136 and thats before any refreshments are bought. Im not saying its not good business as the Old Firm fans will pay but it will stop a lot of our own fans coming, especially when its on the tv. Its not that long ago that the club did not care about the home fans and gave the ugly sisters the South and Cooper stands as well as both wings of the POD any time they were in town, moving many ST holders in the process. The only thing the club can do given that they are bound by league rules etc is to do away with match categories and charge all fans home and away the same price, for all stands apart from the Hunter, I think its currently £26 for the POD. But it will never happen as the financial cost to the club would be prohibitive, 5000 away fans in thd South stand at £8 is £40k, 4 times a year is £160k that could finance 1 or 2 players wage.. Thats also another reason why league reconstruction is so difficult to get agreement on, clubs dont want to lose any of the revenue from games against the ugly sisters.
