St Mirren v Motherwell 09/08/2025

If Gordon is out then we  seem  devoid of a replacement.  Sod to cover again?

we also look a side that’s of a short stature so am expecting lots of route one  and danger from set pieces.  Still the manager saying we will be working on attacking transition  sounds positive.  A makeshift defence but our midfield to dominate 3-1 to the well!

If Gordon is out Balmer is his replacement surely?

Dont see us sarting McGinn and SOD as our CH pairing.....

I see the website is saying these are physical tickets that had to be bought today unless you’re collecting them from FP. If true that’s madness in this day and age. What do you do if you can’t get to FP before Sat?

You'll likely be able to arrange to pick it up in Paisley if you speak to them.

I ordered online yesterday and tickets arrived today.

Thanks Richie.

What a joke that St Mirren (presuming it’s their fault) don’t issue digital tickets. Scottish football has to stop putting barriers in the way of getting numbers through the gates.

Just went to the St Mirren website and can buy 3 tickets for the home end and they have an email option?!
Anyone know what’s going on here?

I'd hazard a guess and say that they're a big enough club now that they don't want away supporters.

It was the same for us last season with Aberdeen. Digital for home fans and paper to be collected at FP for away fans. For the second visit MFC were persuaded to hand out pre purchased tickets at the game for those that could not get to FP.  Common sense came through. No reason they could not do the same on Saturday if the willing is there.

Also Tynecastle last season our postal tickets did not arrive in time so relying on the mail is risky. In fairness Hearts issued duplicates on the day after Motherwell contacted them.

Was that why Dougie Donnelly's picture was on the desk on Saturday night? I actually wondered if he'd passed , I don't recall them offering any reason for it on the programme, though I could have missed it as I skim watched the opening and Kille game.

Was it Dougie? That was my guess but if so it was a very long time ago...

Archie McPherson ooffff , that's a good looking ball up it goes down , along the ground in the air somewhere

Isn't it amazing how Stuart McCall looks quite small , but when he's got the ball he looks quite tall

Only an Excuse 🤣🤣🤣 but they weren't far off

One of my favourite Archie moments was Oct 89 and our 3-2 win v Dun Utd, over 8,000 there and a Davie Cooper masterclass.      "Ohhhh beautiful reverse pass..........what a goal!!!"

I watched that game on YouTube recently funnily enough . Fir Park at the Cooper end looked jam packed

Met him once or twice and spoke to him. Very pleasant guy

One other sketch that stands out was Scotch and Wry , the one where slagging his  jacket . Then he asked for the autograph. Do u have a pen and paper ? 🤣

Met him years ago in the POD Stand at half time during a game. There had been a controversial moment when I, along with most of our support, thought we'd been denied a perfectly good goal, which had been chalked off by the referee. He heard me complaining about it and pontificated that I knew nothing about football.  From that day on, I turned the sound off when he was commentating on games.
