Hanley is brutal and JBA knew that so he set us up to nullify the rest of the Hibs back line and put pressure on thd weak link in the Hibs defence. Anytime Hibs had the ball our pressing meant that Hanley was left alone and as such he was their only outball, JBA,s tactics were spot on and eventually won us the game. I dont think anyone is suggesting the tactic was a mistake. Just that pointing it out to everyone wasnt maybe the right way to go. Be interesting to see what happens now next game v Hibs to see if they change it or just use it as fuel to try and turn the result in their favour...... Did you actually read what I said? You have misunderstood the point? The tactics were perfect and it showed in the performance and result I just think it would be better for JBA to continue to fly under the radar so that those who may have a wish to undermine his achievements have no ammunition to do so. Gives other teams an insight to how we set up? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk His interview was after the game, and our tactics were plain to see. You can only keep your tactics secret until.the game starts. With the level of analysis that's done theese days, teams will know our players and tactics inside and out before they play us, but we'll do exactly the same, so it comes down to who adjusts the best. As others have stated, I dont think JBA was commenting on Hanley's ability as much as saying he wanted to isolate the center back. Our media will jump on absolutely anything that gives them a chance to put a wee team in its place, so maybe he should have known better, but if were trying to modernize fhe club, maybe we can start with not caring about this kind of stuff. Absolutely. If he was so minded to do so, David Gray could come on here and explain out tactics to a tee, as could other rival managers. texanwellfan
In a way it’s a compliment to the other coaches. He is assuming they are all experienced enough to see what we done so why treat it like a secret that nobody noticed.
