Always a hard venue for us to pick up points.

But Uniteds form has dropped off a fair bit, so I sense an opportunity to get something out of this and keep the run going.

A point would be a good return. 3 points, and we will be making another statement.

A full weeks rest and training should help.

If we can win this and our next home game

(as predicted by Allymax) it coukd be a major boost for us since there are a bunch of games where the teams around us are Playing each other.

In my head when I came up with the 17 points thing, we were beating Falkirk and drawing this one, however, it's on grass, they're shite and we're 2008 Spain.

Previously I'd say that a point would not be a bad result. Many years ago, I studied in Dundee and never saw us win there. We were at the start of the Tommy McLean era whereas they were flying high and reaching European finals. Given recent form and confidence from our new approach, this is now a fixture we should be looking to collect all three points from.

Not a disaster should it not work out that way, but it would be great to keep the "feel good" factor going for as long as possible.

Any win against Goodwin is a good win - so hope we can turn them over like we did at Fir Park.

I might have missed this in previous discussions but how many games will we be missing Maswanhise? I know he’ll be away and out for the Rangers and Celtic games.

Gutted to be losing him as these are big games at an important time. Maybe RCC might come in and play his role? It’s a tough ask.

Players have to be released by 15th December.

First games start on 21st December.

Final is on 18th January.

So how long he is gone depends on how well his team does. Zimbabwe's last group game is on the 29th December so if they don't qualify for the next phase he'll be back shortly after that.

I doubt if Zimbabwe will qualify for the latter stages of the tournament, as Egypt and South Africa are considerbaly stronger. Angola is also above Zimbabwe in the rankings. So, I'd guess he'll be back by New Year's day.

Any away game is difficult but utd not on great form ( 1 win in 10) so. O reason we cant go there in a positive mood.   3pts would be brilliant so fingers crossed

Dundee Utd v Celtic on 17th in between our next two matches

Utd’s problem isn’t really scoring, it’s their defence.  I think we’ll do well to keep our run of clean sheets continuing so at least a couple of goals will be needed for the win.  I’d settle for draw at moment. 
prior to StM they had apparently never gone 6games without a win under Goodwin.  May it be unlucky number 7 for him.

They already have not won any of their past 6 games. 3 draws and 3 Losses. So he’s going for 7 now !

It's not a slight on us, but adding 2 wins to our current run is asking a lot, just based on how this league goes, and the whole law of averages thing, i.e. vibes.

I'm more confident in keeping this going than I would have been with other managers (and squads), but I think Tannadice will be a tricky one, and they really need to pull lut a result to halt their bad run, and as mentioned above, they have some decent attacking players. 

On the other hand, their defence is woeful, and they still dont know how to sign goalkeepers. Also, Goodwin likes a death spiral. 

On Dundee, they will be ultra defensive, so that will.be a different challenge.
