Block E Behaviour

Not posted here in an absolute age.... but felt compelled to after the way my phone was pinging on Saturday following the Block E boys bus stopping off in my town of Auchterarder on Saturday. 

A group of them decided to spray paint and sticker parts of the town, including on a few memorial planters outside the town hall. The were confronted by an elderly neighbor of mine who was subsequentially met with a torrent of abuse before they headed into The Star bar. 

Absolutely no need for this behavior at all and reflects so poorly on club as a whole. And yeah, I know it would only be a certain few within the group that finds this funny and acceptable and not tarnishing them all with the same brush, but surely the older ones need to nip this in the bud and help protect the reputation of Block E? 

As I am involved a lot in our community here, I had my phone pinging with messages from friends and neighbors who know I'm a Motherwell fan - some as a wind up, some being more serious - all while I was out in Glasgow with my wean at a show. 

There was apparently similar damage/graffiti done earlier in the year around August time so a lot of the locals are now making a big deal of it. There is quite extensive CCTV that identifies the culprits - some of which I have seen - and it has been shared with he police and the club. There is a response from Brian Caldwell that has been shared in the community page.

Worth pointing out that a lot of travelling supporters from lots of clubs stop in Auchterarder - and this is only time in 12 yrs staying here I have seen anything like this being raised - so a really shitty look for the club. 

Putting it on here to highlight and the off chance that anyone wants to take ownership and accountability for this. I will gladly put you in contact with the Auchterarder Community Council who will be footing the bill for your actions, maybe stop any police action before it happens.

I'm sure there will be a barely legible word salad post on FB soon enough decrying the treatment of the people who did this when they are caught.

Sorry to hear that, I just wish folk would simply go and support their team.

Hopefully, if identified and found guilty then the club do something about those involved.

Such a shame as in the main, they are good for the club but a select number (as almost all teams) let themselves and the club down with stupidity.

They do so much to make the atmosphere of games better and I think in general they represent the club well but you’ll always get the occasional bell end that wastes that reputation 

my brother in law took my nephew a few years ago to the Accies v Motherwell game at Douglas park and as he was walking back towards Hamilton west, he had about 6 of them giving him grief and wanting to fight him when he’s walking with his 12yr old son cos he had an Accies scarf on.  You just wonder what goes on in their minds to think it’s acceptable.

I thought things had been improving and then we had the pyro show at Falkirk.   They do a lot of good but they really need to weed out the bad element that is tarring them all with the same brush

Plastic hard men. Identify them, prosecute them, and ban them indefinitely.

There isn't a club in the league that doesn't have fans misbehaving from time to time.

 

I feel a bit sorry for the original poster though as the residents of Auchterarder have fallen into the trap of 'he's a Motherwell fan, there aren't many of them, so he must know them'

On a serious note.

With all the great publicity we are getting around the club right now regarding our football, community work and the general feelgood factor around the place we could really do without this.

Block E do so much good stuff around the club with foodbanks and toydrives etc, I really dont get this kinda shit?

Would be good if the group would take ownership of this and volunteer to clean up the mess or make some other form of reparation.

Its ok to mess up. But when you do, own it and do the right thing.

They were acting like arseholes at Tannadice. Their sense of entitlement saw them locked out the game because they because abusive to Stewards . Doesn't matter a fuck what you think of stewarding had they not acted like entitled arseholes they'd have got into the game. No doubt we'll get the persecution response of "heavy hands empty stands"

They either don't realise or don't care how even a very small number acting like that can undo all the great work the club and the Trust do for the community.

Having being victimised by security at Tannadice myself before, I'd like to to hear the Block E lads' version of events before arriving at any conclusion.

To be fair, you do seem like a trouble maker that stweards need to keep an eye on...

When we were relegated to the First Division, I used to get searched by the Polis at away grounds on a regular basis. Not sure why other than I often used to have a radio (for the half time scores) in my coat pocket.

I was sitting at the back of the stand chatting to our group before kick off, when a steward approached and eyeballed me. In an aggressive fashion he said standing was not permitted at games. I replied that I knew and that was why I wasn't standing. I also pointed out politely that 80% of the crowd was standing and he should address that. He then kicked off and threatened to have me ejected for disruptive behaviour. A totally manuactured problem. 

Over the years the stewards at Tannadice and Dens have earned a reputation for being unjustifiably troublesome. Given that and my experience I'm always sceptical of accepting accounts at face value. Yes the behaviour of some in Block E can be OTT at times, but in my admittedly limited dealings with them they've always been perfectly fine.

Yes they do and as I said in my post the stewards aren't blameless but the Well Bois in front of us in the Q going into Tannadice were foul mouthed abusive and generally being obnoxious and entitled this in turn was met by the same reaction from the stewards. It was a situation that was easily avoidable. I find it utterly amazing that how some of our fans can attend every match home and away for 50 odds years, myself included , and have never been ejected from the ground or had any confrontation with the police or stewards. I guess we must just be lucky.
