weeyin
I read Robinson's post match quote: ""That's as poor a performance as we've put in all season. I didn't think Motherwell needed to do a whole lot to win the game" We see a lot of visiting managers give similar post match assessments, and I think it's testament to our performances that we just don't let teams play. From Dundee Utd to Hibs to Celtic, they all come away saying it's the poorest they have been.
grizzlyg
Another brilliant performance and revenge against the kings of anti football and a ref that was absolutely woeful. 7000 well fans there today.....happy days

Having said that, many visiting managers say that about St Mirren. They thrive on stifling opponents' games and suffocating them. Whats sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. Villageman
Sitting in the cooper I did see a lot adults many with children and match ticket in view approach the steward to ask about their seating. One person even asked holding a season ticket. new faces long may it continue. And Oh St Mirren and the ref were brutal.

steelman1991
Routine victory. This time last year I was going to games out of duty/habit. This year I can’t wait for games to come around. Get the feeling the modern day fan is experiencing our “Ancell Babes” moment. Just hope we are more clinical than they were.

Andy H
I liked what the Gaffer said in his interview with the BBC, talking about not worrying about a title charge, building and looking to improve next year. I have a feeling it would take a massive offer for him to move, he is enjoying it here
Big Stall
It just gets better each week. Whats going to happen if we ever did somehow get two or three windows out this gaffer? Being mid 40s these days iv seen alot, early 90s when we mounted a genuine challenge, McGhee v1 team a joy to watch the attacking front 3, McCalls team of stars but nothing compares to what this team can do in terms of controlling games, keeping possession, turnovers & pacey counters, never mind the clean sheets. You get the feeling that this is still a work in progress & there is more to come. Long may it continue! For any young well fan - just enjoy it. We are seeing something genuinly different and hopefully (touch wood) a bit special!
joewarkfanclub Posted yesterday at 12:08 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 12:08 AM Really enjoyed that today. Mostly because we won in spite if everything that was going on. The diving, the grabbing, the holding, the time wasting, the referee doing absolutely nothing about it and then having a go at our players when they started to take matters into their own hands. Not crying about it, as I actually quite enjoyed it when Robbo was employing it with us, but it is still nice to see that "passing without a purpose" can comfortably beat Thunderdome! We still played our football, but we refused to be bullied. This team has fight and spirit in abundance as well as ability. Great to see JT back. He is the striker we are looking for! Although Im still up for a big dirty Norwegian if he is already in the post. 2 really good goals, bucket loads of entertainment from Just, Slattery and Mr Chaos! SOD rampaging thru midfield to join in. It was a joy to watch. We really are witnessing something very special.

He tends to play with a poker straight face. There is absolutely no doubt that Scottish Football is driven excessively by emotion. I listened to the OF game today on the radio and there was actually very little commentary on the actual game. It was all about the drama around the Celtic predicament and Nancy in particular. Every adjective is pulled out to describe the emotions of the fans, the players, the horrors of Nancy's predicament. Read Tom English's article this evening on the BBC . It is pure sensationalism. I think 'haunted' is used in the headline to describe Nancy's demeanour. It is straight out of Hollywood. JBA has made a point of cutting through all that noise. At times he has made some of the inane questioning of the press sound ridiculous because he refuses to get drawn in to the emotion, instead concentrating on the very effective job in hand . I do wonder if behind that very pragmatic exterior if the club and maybe even the warts and all of Scottish football itself is actually starting to grow on him. I suspect unfortunately that JBA will look at his own career in much the same way as he forensically builds a competitive Motherwell side but it would be nice to dream that he has grown enough attachment to the club that it will at least raise the bar for any potential suitors offering riches to entice him away.

There is no doubt Jens is enjoying himself. He clearly loves how well its going and how quickly the players AND all of us have bought into his project. I suspect you are correct though and he will be ambitious and analysing how to build his stock to maximum effect so that there will be a decent move in it for him. But what does that look like? What clubs are looking at what an unproven manager is doing at a provincial club in the Scottish Leagues? What does success look like to make him an attractive candidate and what level does he aspire to for his next job? Probably a topic for another thread, but I was quite encouraged by his interview tonight as he is a man that chooses his words carefully. So maybe he does want to build something lasting here before he moves on?

grizzlyg Posted yesterday at 12:33 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 12:33 AM Hope not controversial after a great win but Watt's reaction to st mirren player confronting him is embarrassing. If other way round we would be slating opposition player. Elliot you are better than that
Kmcalpin Posted yesterday at 12:35 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 12:35 AM Rumours on P & B that Callum Hendry has picked up a serious injury; hence his absence from today's squad. Add to that Stama being on the bench and Sule's return to WBA, and you do get the feeling that moves are afoot to bring in another striker.
