weeyin
I imagine JBA won't want anywhere he doesn't have complete control of team matters - which is why I'm doubtful Celtic will be the next move. He's no doubt well aware of the current shenanigans with the Board and the fans.

But Im not so sure some of the other names banded about will tempt him. I think he only moves in a summer window to a bigger club where he thinks he can replicate the success he has had in implementing his style with us. He wont want to risk any backward steps. I don't think he'll be short of options either way however what he hopefully has done is make our job more attractive. If he leaves us in Europe with a strong squad obviously a few of those players will be sold but the club will be in a healthy position moving forward and can hopefully attract a good level of candidate. You do wonder had Wimmer not resigned how different a position the club would be in as I felt the early signs were promising under him as well. weeyin
Also, do you think Celtic fans would be happy if they had the same start to the season that we did, drawing all those games while we we going through the growing pains of learning the system? I think it would be easier for them to buy into as they've seen what he's done with us they had a rough start under Ange but stuck with him because they could see the idea. mio
I can in a way see why he’s being touted for Celtic. Traditionally they’ve always been a team who play decent football and are a bit better to watch than Rangers who were always a “win at all cost regardless of style” type of club but there’s something in my head thinking that he can do without that hassle. He strikes me as a guy who wouldn’t put up with the toxic nonsense from their crowd which would then end up with him being a disliked figure. I see him going to England. I could see him working wonders with a good club in the championship. I’d think his life would be 100 times better there than dealing with Joe Bigot on a daily basis up here. or he can just stay with us and do what that Auxere manager did for years. Refuse to move to bigger jobs and turn his side into a champions league team….. that’d be my preferred option 🤣

Possibly one that already plays his current style.

0Neils40yarder
When JBA goes, we will be in an extremely healthy position on and off the park...and will also be an attractive proposition to a different level of manager than we are used to

The new board, Wimmer and JBA have set the direction and the standard going forward.
Stuwell2
I have a feeling that he’ll stay for another season if the following happens, TJ is sold for +£5M and a quality striker replacement has been identified and bought, if a daft bid is made only one of the midfield is sold and replaced, as with Watt, Just, Fadinger, Nicholson, Priestman and our youngsters we have a great core midfield which could lose one and still be strong while a new midfielder gets up to speed with our system - Slattery will leave in the summer so I’m not including him. Defence is where the money should be used most to strengthen the team. although with European games (should we make it, which is extremely likely) causing extra pressure on the squad it might be we need to increase the squad to provide more depth but I’m hopeful - on what I’ve seen of them so far this season - that our youngsters will step up and provide some of that. texanwellfan
I think it’s fairly certain that no matter how much we could offer JBA any decent sized club can easily top any monetary offer from us. So pretty much it’s all Down to JBA and how much is he enjoying his work, how much does he want to stay and see how far he can take Motherwell and is he confident and patient enough to wait another year or so to move into a much higher paid position. Hopefully MFC are already making a short list of options to replace JBA when he leaves. Is that our current assistant? I don’t know. Whoever it is has to continue the approach that JBA has established.
parko66
Was interested to read the latest update from the club AGM - part of which covered the Stadium options study, "state of the pitch" and also confirmed that the manager is on an open contract -which i guess means he can walk with the club receiving no compensation (if I'm understanding that right) Full article is here: Tickedy App
