Surely there’s a bit of irony in folk proposing Simo. He struggled badly at first at Saints and actually went down! But they stood by him and he’s come good.

Fingers crossed we don't get to that point, but sticking behind AJ might just be what helps turns things around.

You can’t polish a turd, but you can roll it in glitter.

I think I'm right in saying that St Johnstone were 10th when he took over and expectations were very limited. They'd only picked up 4 points from 7 games.

Maybe some truth in that ( I just gave a couple of names to appease people )

St Johnstone tbf were a shambles when simo took over & from the outside looked like he changed the culture & got them fighting for the badge ( plus he knows Scottish football )

i don’t think we want to go down to see if Aj can rebuild us 😂 ( I know that’s not what your saying )

Mcglynns been mentioned but don’t see why you would leave Falkirk to come to us

Before Saturday i was almost on the get him out bus, but i saw enough in that second half to show it is small margins & the players are still trying. They are so far away from the death throws of kettlewells & alexanders reigns.

Would also say its not just me saying that. Pundits on the radio were praising us for throwing the kitchen sink at hearts & noting we were unlucky. This place actually has a surprising amount of posters sayiing the same thing.

Of course we might lose the next two & then we are having a different chat but for me, we can still recover this.

Unless Alfred can find a way to improve the defense - not only will he lose his job but we will end up relegated .

it’s becoming obvious we need 3 goals to win any game and that’s simply not going to happen

He hasn't a clue. He lost us the game tonight. Instead of continuing to press for a 3rd. He decided to flood the team with defenders. Not one of them can actually defend. As for bringing SOD on again. That alone should see his arse out the door. How long are people going to defend this fraudster.

That tonight was two points dropped and obviously wrong subs at the wrong time. All down to bad management.  He's starting to get on my tits he's paid not to make basic mistakes like that.

I didn’t see the St Johnstone game but it’s no surprise that our defensive frailties have been our undoing in what sounds like an otherwise positive performance.

The night Freiburg came to Fir Park we lost some really poor goals. The quality of the opposition prevented criticism but it was apparent that i) our centre halves weren’t very good and/or ii) we weren’t well set up to defend our box. Since then, little has improved defensively with 23 goals conceded in 10 games and 1 clean sheet against 10 men. Those responsible for recruitment have to take a big share of the blame but you would expect any competent coach to have at least made us a little harder to beat by now.

Instead, we remain in limbo until it’s deemed acceptable to sack AJ and his replacement will arrive just in time for a tough run of games, starting with Rangers at Fir Park. That’s if the recruiting panel act a little sharper than they did in the summer…

His time should be up,not one area of the team is functioning in a competent manner,we're a poorly coached outfit.i think we're better than what we're showing but the manager isn't getting getting a tune out of far too many and doesn't look capable of improving any player.on the flip side the current lot masquerading as defenders should be ashamed of themselves for the past few weeks, from paulsen making a cunt of it at Ibrox until tonight has been nothing short of embarrassing,we let the ball come in our box willy nilly then show no aggression to go and win it when it does.i really hope we beat st mirren but I'm at the point where it'll just be papering over the cracks.

If we can't manage a win on Saturday, then the Directors must bite the bullet and quickly.  That would then give them a bit of breathing space during the international break to get the recruitment process moving. Maybe even a win by itself isn't enough, as Wellfan rightly points out elsewhere.  A scrambled win would simply paper over the cracks and kick the can down the road.

Ffs , somebody is potentially going lose their job and you come up with that ...original stuff.

I get that you disagree with my views on Alfred, but have some perspective. If we persist with him and things continue to regress, the consequences will extend well beyond him losing his job.

What consequences do you forsee and who would you bring in as a replacement if AJ does leave, would it be another foreign coach to continue the journey the board started with Wimmer or someone from the pool of usual suspects and part time pundits that " know the Scottish game"?

The consequences of relegation would likely be the loss of many more full-time jobs.

As for who could replace him, I don’t know, and it’s not my job to know. I despise this question being thrown at fans whenever they want a failing manager removed. A competent Board should always be succession planning and have potential replacements identified.

When you concede 2 goals per game - you get relegated.   Under Alfred we've played 20 games in total.  Scored 22 and conceded 40.

I don't think all our play has been horrible , there have been some decent passages of play but we've been poor defensively.   When you start shipping goals the basics are make yourself hard to beat, stop shipping goals.

My fundamental concern is I''ve not seen anything to demonstrate we're tightening up in defence  - Without changing our philosophy I'd expect us to keep the ball better but also do something different in defence -that could be simply bringing in JKL or McGhee or pivoting to 3 central defenders.

Trying harder isn't the answer - adapting is and I don't hear or see that - therefore I can only expect us to ship 2 goals per game which leaves us in a precarious position.
