You have obviously made up your mind on the manager and will now try to wedge any reason into an argument as to why he must go O'Donnell is a very experienced former International player getting paid a very reasonable wage to be a professional football player. To bring him on for the last 10 in his natural position to provide stability, freshness, respite to tired players is perfectly reasonable and legitimate. You cannot preempt the mistake that follows. Today's teams were very even, separated by Hearts having players that are currently sharper in front of goal. Motherwell were the better team in the second half. People have already made up their minds in both directions and will find the rhetoric to fit their preferred outcome. My view is that it is far too early to sack this manager. 3
FirParkCornerExile
1 hour ago, MJC said: Correct. And sadly the bigger picture is that we have a rudderless bunch of individuals led by a man who is never a manager in a million years and the longer he remains the more danger we are going to be in. I actually think the players are every bit as culpable as the manager and the recruitment team. We have spent £2million on players that couldn't lace the boots of the ones we've lost. The recruitment for me has been poor. Who the fuck looked at Girdwood-Reich and Mooreman and thought there is a mobile pairing for the centre of a defence that wants to play a high pressing game.. I think the manager wants to play the style we played last year but we've recruited players who can't do it. Everything we do is slow and laboured and most of them want to play it safe and play it back . The movement off the ball going forward is also suspect as is the final ball . The quicker we get Preistman and McGinn back in the team the better That said I did see an improvement today, albeit with our customary gifts. Longello and Said were very good esp 2nd half. McGhee looked solid and could potentially be a very good asset along side Preistman. What Maswanhise has done to get back into the team is fucking baffling. However whilst I see improvement I'm prepared to give AJ the benefit of the doubt for the time being. However improvement has got to deliver results and if they don't come in the next 3 games there is only one outcome. I'm not even sure a new manager would get a tune out of a few of those players we have, too many flatter to deceive. The defence is a fucking shambles and we will need to recruit AGAIN in January as sure as night follows day. A crowd of 9912 but I think many season ticket holders stayed away but were counted cos no way did that crowd look a baw hair off 10,

Ridiculous in we’re 1 down with 10 to go & bring on a right back? a right back that’s been miles off it all season? ive previously said put the 2 big boys up front & punt it for at least something different…. who on earth is thinking right back….1 down with 10 to go 😂 decisions been made coz it’s clear as 😂

I would say many would have forecasted an O’Donnell mistake. Will go the same was as Halliday soon and into permanent broadcasting.
wunderwell
I think we did fine enough today performance wise but the reason I thought we would get beat today was devilment. Hearts are one of the worst team to play in these conditions because they can score with a header out of not much and that was going to make all the difference today. He has had last year's starting 11 unavailable to him due to transfers, injury, illness. This is effectively a completely new team. 4 key players missing today in Priestman, Koutrombous, Fadinger, Lowry. That is significant. These games are being lost on fine margins and individual errors not capitulations. As I said above, you will have made up your mind and I have my views and we will find the reasoning to fit our desired outcome. My belief is that there are mitigating circumstances if you care to look. Some of the support are past that point already. I think it is early. You ( they don't). couttsy
I thought today was a big improvement on what we’ve seeing of late, and had we shown a bit more composure in front of goal we’d have taken the 3 points never mind 1. Completely out played Hearts for long periods, particularly in the 2nd half. Yes, I’m worried we could be sliding towards a relegation battle unless we can find someone to consistently hit the back of the net (similar to what Maswanhise did last season), but still far too early to be talking about changing the manager given the injury list we’ve had to deal with, not to mention the personnel changes over the summer. Although I do except the next 2 are huge. Confident we’ll pick up at least 4 points!

I just hope the building negative momentum does not overwhelm the players and the manager. A result will make a huge difference to this squad.

If we continue on this very poor run when would you sack him? For the record, I'm in favour of giving him another 2 games, both winnable on paper. If we continue to show patience and the poor run continues, hitting 12th place in the process and a gap opens up to 11th place do we continue to do nothing? It may well be that our manager, whoever that may be, will want to do some business in the January window. Do we hold off until then? Even if we hold off taking action until December thats very tight, given our lengthy appointment process. leaving a new man little time to settle in. I doubt if our manager will have anything near a full squad at his disposal this season. On top of that, you have the fans to consider. If we continue on this abysmal run, the fans will vote with their feet. Sometimes mistakes get made in the appointment process; it happens. Its looking very likely that the club has made one. firparkfred
I hope someone has a word with Said about rolling about like a child today after a very soft foul. Embarrassing behaviour. We don't like when other teams do it so we need to get it stopped by our own players.

Nothing personal against Alfred Johansson before any of the sanctimonious brigade on here try pulling the ‘toxic fanbase’ card but this clearly has been an appointment that just hasn’t and just isn’t going to work out. We need a proper manager, someone who can manage and coach the team. We clearly don’t have that with AJ.

I saw enough today to suggest that he hasn't lost the dressing room however if we haven't got at least 3 or maybe even 4 points from the next 2 games then I think it would have to be time up for Alfred. There were definite improvements today however if you cant score then you have to remain solid at the back and the comedy goals we lose each week suggest we are far from solid
