I can see why we had a shot at him & he was always up against it regardless honestly think it’ll show the ambition of the club if we can act swiftly & go it’s not working maybe he wins a game & we go top 6…..it’s just papering over the obvious hope if we do bin him we’re brave enough to go leftfield again…..but get it right

I really dislike this period as a football fan. You know your manager isn’t cut out for the job, you possibly suspected it from day one, but you know the Board feel duty bound to give their appointment a little longer - which is arguably, fair. That inevitably leads to more disappointing performances, more points dropped and more ground to make up on those clubs above us. Hopefully, at the very least, the Board have started to think about AJ’s successor and lessons have been learned from the summer. How AJ got through an extensive interview process is beyond me.

numpty started following Motherwell v Hearts 25/10/2026 , MOTM Kilmarnock 17-Oct-2026 and Motherwell's next manager
-
Not a chance this team are taking 7 points
-
That’s the thing isn’t it maswanise miles off it…..nobody better on the bench longelo not interested…..nobody better on the bench no style of play to me we’d be as well sticking the 2 big boys upfront & just pumping it long & playing off 2nd balls at least it might be entertaining if nothing else

Jens himself would have struggled to recreate anything like our best from last season even without losing Just, Welsh, Watt, Ward and Slattery. Teams had cottoned on to us by late last season and we were nowhere near as effective as we were from November-February bar Ibrox and Easter Road. Whoever came in faced a very difficult task to try and get us playing at the same standard we were last season and for that I don’t envy Alfred. But unfortunately he just doesn’t look like he knows what he is doing and his lack of coaching experience is showing. I just don’t see this ending well for him and us.

Kilmarnock v Motherwell 17/10/2026

Possibly but im hoping the guys that came on can do better that what started or who do we drop? One thing in our favour, theres a few very ordinary teams in bottom of league, tightening up might be enough to save us. Think we were all hoping to build on last year and the money we made but at this minute, staying up is important -
Feck knows what a saw in him…☠️
-
Agree Grizzly, worrying, but as people say a couple of wins and it’s top 6 again so I’ve said before on the game thread next 3 games, min 2 wins if it’s zero wins then as much as it’ll cost us to get AJ out I thk that would be the time as it’s clearly not working at the moment.

Watched the game on Motherwell TV totally gutted at the result and the last 30 minutes capitulation against a rank average Killie side. The first Killie goal was yet again a mistake by Polsen but after we went behind I felt we were positive, closing down, challenging for balls, winning second balls and for once we’re looking to go forward and it paid off, Lowry got a good goal and Said and Mas should have scored. Once the second half starts and we get ahead and should have seen the game out from there but two school boy errors by SOD cost us the game, Killie resorted to hoofball over the top as they recognised we were vulnerable, how SOD stayed in the field I’ll never know, why when AJ has KL on the bench he wasn’t brought on ahead of JGR I have no bloody idea. For me I just don’t see where we spent £2m in the close season, Sparrow is never a RB, and JK shd have been on from the start, Moorman n KL shd start, Hodge is offering nothing at the moment and shd be benched, Mas just looks out his depth, his shooting is crap. Where has the team that destroyed Havnor, Helsinki and played so positively against Freiburg and steam rolled over United gone? Unfortunately it seems the longer AJ has in training the worse we get, I think it’s our season defining 3 biggest games coming up, if we continue to lose then we have to be proactive to survive in the league and for me that’s when we have to part company with Alfred, but if we get the wins we need then I think confidence will come back..I bloody hope so! At the moment I’d say we stick but the next 3 games we need at least 2 victories and a draw.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The signing of Vogts was initiated by Jens but Daws probably would obviously have been involved
-
oh hes not alone but doesnt stop him being honking.
-
Well if Nick Daws was in anyway involved with signing Willie Vogts it’s more than a mention he should get
-
I'm amazed Nick Daws hasnt got a mention yet 🤪🤪

Jens was an absolute find Alfred is the polar opposite . From the outside looking in he’s simply not got the personality and authority for the job or the league. Cut our losses and pay him off - we’ve wasted plenty money on other things this season so just add his appointment to the list All the hard work to get the feel good factor , club on the up, better attendances all brought to its knees with a guy out his depth arguably not helped by some shocking signings We dont have a single leader in that dressing room and don’t have a player who can tackle ,there is no balance
-
Well when you are losing games the first thing you do is shut the back door,I think the performances have gotten worse from week to week,do you see us getting 3 points of hearts or even St Johnstone?

Surely there were worse than him -
I thought SOD was man of the match.....for Kilmarnock
-
That's us lost to teams managed by robinson, pressley and now mccann in a short space of time and the manager seems to have no answers,in fact were getting worse by the game.

Paulsen, sod and sparrow need dropped and lets see if the others can up things, we can be gifting goals to teams like today. I'd love the manager to be successful, its a big 2 weeks for him, I reckon...im probably thinking he cant turn it around but I live in hope. -
Address the issues and bring in a new defence. If it doesn't work folk cant criticise as he at least tried something new. I would try Paulsen (grudgingly ) Johnny K. JGR JKL. LONGELO MCGHEE. FADINGER LOWRY KANGA. SAID SEB
-
Girdwood -Reich is truly appalling
-
Well the manger signed Paulsen, Moorman, Girdwood-Reich, Knight-Lebel and decided after watching O'Donnell in training he should play. He thinks Sparrow is a full back. That's all we have. And they are not going to save us.
-
Max Rogers. Probably.
-
We’re getting pumped, but I’ll still be there, hoping for the best.
-
We’re absolutely shite and getting worse with every game. The buck stops with the manager and, as I’ve said before, I think we’re witnessing the beginning of the end for him. He’s either completely dismantled everything that was good about us or simply isn’t good enough to get the best out of what he’s got. And let’s not forget the significant financial backing he’s received. He’s taking us backwards.
