  1. Past hour
  2. Anyone else see the bizarre carry on at the end? Hibs player and Said having a disagreement. Said walks away and Hibs player dived after feeling contact from behind from another Hibs player thinking it was Said. McGinn seen it, hence him having a go at Hibs player. Referees really need to come down hard on this sort of behavour. Also see Celtic when they need a little help got away with a shocking tackle early on against Utd. Youve got to wonder if VAR have been told to keep a lower profile in recent weeks.
  3. Living away from Lanarkshire, as I do, I don't get the opportunity to watch any of the youth games. I only get the odd glimpse of a youngster on the bench or making a token 5 minute appearance as a sub. Now that generational talent, Lennon Miller, has moved on for a club record fee, who is next on the conveyor belt? Any views? From the little I've seen or read: Luca Ross: he's now 19 and been on the fringe of the first team for a few years but never quite made the breakthrough. Will he make it? Zander MacAllister: at 17, seems to be highly rated and made 2 token subs appearances. Olly Whyte, now 19, he was a standout on loan at Cowdenbeath and now doing the business at a higher level with Stenhousemuir, on loan. The pick of the bunch? Dylan Wells: was highly rated and went on loan to Edinburgh City but then disappeared. Picked up a serious long term injury? Mikey Booth: highly rated but then picked up a serious injury and we've heard no more. .
  4. Fair comment. JT fashioned and took his goal very well. Tom Sparrow's misjudgement was so reminiscent of the kind of goal that Stevie Hammell used to concede. Still an away point at your rival's place is not a bad result.
  5. Today
  6. Watched highlights last night and our goal was superb. Poor goal to lose and Sparrow misjudged it but Bowie also had some luck. Said should have done better with header late on but it's still a very good point against a side that have a lot more financial clout than us.
  7. Welsh is contracted to celtic until summer 2027 https://www.bbc.com/sport/articles/cldg6w9dg50o Like above, any club signing Welsh now would need to pay at least what celtic are paying him, or Celtic will need to give him some sort of payoff to make the difference. It's feasible that he'd take a modest pay cut for regular football, but I don't see why he'd do that right now, whether its with us, Aberdeen, or anyone else. Clubs are increasingly moving the recruitment responsibilities away from the manager, which makes sense since most managers don't even last a season thesedays. I'm sure players would prefer some kind of managerial stability at the club they are joining, but I'm sure what they're getting paid matters more.
  8. This suggests we're not going to go crazy in January, as expected. "The strength of the squad was evident and the Motherwell manager reiterated that his focus in the January transfer window is to keep his key players. “That's the main plan, to make sure that this team gets the maximum out of this group of players, gets the maximum out of this season, and then we know in the summer it's a bigger window,” the Dane said. “So that's the main track for us and then obviously there's a few gaps here and there and we'll see if we can fill them with quality like we did in the summer.”

  10. Sounds like we are getting this striker which will be interesting and as mentioned if we get Welsh for the rest of the season that’d be a brilliant result. I actually feel like we need another midfielder as well after losing RCC and with Watt being out and the likelihood is there will be other injuries in midfield particularly giving the miles they put in every game, it’s inevitable.
  11. Welsh holds most of the options although may not be perfect or wise. Sure Celtic can recall him, they can't force him to sign for Aberdeen or any other team whilst under contract. A contract that is believed to be anything between 6 and 18 months. Can't believe a team with no manager would sign any player that said new manager might not rate. Though Celtic did sign a manager to play a system that he should have known whether they could adapt to it.
  12. Issue then is will we keep the manager and players like Just. If not the manager then who is the next one and will they be as successful. I hear Aberdeen are in for Welsh. Celtic can seemingly do a deal up to the 14th.
  13. I’d suspect that he’s training with us during at least part of the week as Stenhousemuir are not a full time team so JBA will know if he’s ready or not.
  14. Agree he hasn’t kept up his early form but I thought today he was better than some of his more recent games
  15. Need to disagree I thought he was one of our weakest players. I'm not saying he was dreadful but a shadow of the player we saw at the start of the season
  16. A decent enough game. The quality of our ball in the final 3rd was what stopped us getting 3 points. To slow getting forward to support some great position out wide forcing our players to check back and dither on the ball. Great goal from Manwanhise. Said off the scale frustrating today, great build up play but caught in possession far to often. We didn't win as many second balls as I would have liked. Longello a shadow of the player we had in first 6/7 games. Just was outstanding as was McGinn. A point a Easter Road is never to be sniffed at.
  17. He seems to be doing very well at Stenhousemuir. Maybe see him in claret and amber next season...?
  18. Can we bring Olly Whyte into the squad to see how he does? Not sure how these partnership loans work.
  19. Sign the striker and try and get Welsh. There is money there from Miller sale
  20. The boy Bjorgolfsson looks decent https://x.com/i/status/2009945976216186895
  21. Maswanhise is a better striker than Stamatelopoulos ever will be. We should’ve punted him in the summer when there was a rumoured offer.
  22. The whining was on a par with Dundee Utd. Wanting Longelo sent off for a 2nd yellow when he hadn't even been booked.
  23. Really happy to get something from today. think it was @mio who said he had the fear going into this , i had same feeling . It’s very hard to adjust to expecting not to lose when we haven’t lost many games . Hibs I thought played decent stuff and looked dangerous , first part of the game they really dominated but we slowly and surely came into it . The commentators made a decent point that we at times try to find the perfect goal, I tend to agree , we could be a bit more direct and like we all know need more cutting edge in final 3rd TW took his goal brilliantly , proving to be a great asset . Overall a very decent point .
