JBA certainly more than surpassed expectations when he came in and when we were on it under him we were brilliant to watch. I wouldn’t go so far as to say he was elite level based on his time at us but he certainly had us playing some great stuff even though we fell away toward the end of the season. His record in the Cups was a black mark given the way we exited both and the team selection for the Aberdeen tie and we dropped a lot of points from winning positions especially early in the season. Overall he was a success for us. It could and perhaps even should have been better but he was certainly an excellent manager for us and he goes now with the best of wishes.

A big loss, not just to Motherwell, but to Scottish football which has just lost a young, progressive, modern manager that would no doubt have taken Motherwell on an upward trajectory that would have had a beneficial knock on for the Scottish game in general. Let's hope we get another one that is just as switched on. Come on ye Well! Thanks and best wishes to Jens.

Its been a great season thanks to JBA. He's transformed us on the pitch and left us in a better condition than when he joined. Thats the bottom line. Given his record when joined, I and a few others never expected him to stay long and he hasn't. I don't expect him to, stay long at Toulouse either, which is a far bigger club. I just wish he hadn't made a few comments about his long term plans for our club. A red herring? Even though he's done a great job, I'm relaxed about him moving on. Managers come and managers go but the club moves on. To younger fans, he'll simply be a name. I'm very encouraged by Kyrk MacMillan's statement that the model continues and that the directors have been preparing for this day. Whats more, the recruitment process ins now well underway. Backroom staff remain in place. COYW!

He's an Elite level manager. We've been fortunate to witness the best fitba I've seen on near on 50 years going down by. Onwards and Upwards.

It’s just the way football goes, when a player/coach/manager does well at a ‘provincial club’ then it is inevitable that they will be poached by a bigger club sooner or later. It’s not unique to us. What I would say though is that this is why it is important to enjoy and savour when we do have a player or manager instead of worrying about the above happening. Because if it’s going to happen then there’s nothing that can be done to stop it and talking/worrying about it just prevents you from enjoying it while it lasts. Tam Cowan is the biggest culprit for this as I have said before on here and I found his attitude and comments pretty disappointing given the platform he has and how he is basically our most high profile fan. The night we beat Celtic 2-0 at Fir Park and absolutely dominated them in a way never seen before he was straight on the radio after it saying that it was only a matter of time before JBA was away and that we’d be lucky to keep him until the end of the season and so on. Nothing about the result, nothing about the performance of the team, just “it’s all gonna end any minute”. That really got up my nose at the time because at a time when the focus should be on us having a really good side and playing really good football our most well known fan was pouring cold water on it all on the radio. Well, up yours Cowan. Jens was here until the end of the season and now he has gone we move on. It’s just a pity you couldn’t focus more on what he was doing for us while he was here rather than spouting tired old nonsense about how it was all going to end any minute.

But....but....but....he hasn't gone to sellik! 😁😁 GIRUY I expect another leftfield foreign coach with same philosophy on style of play. We have squad all under contract, European football and sound financially. Jens , thank you for bringing us an amazing season, huge crowds, memorable results........now feck off ya judas baldy Danish p***k!!! 🤪🤪🤪 ( yes.....I am joking)

Gutted he's away but it was better now than a few weeks down the line.i don't think the club has ever been in better shape while looking to appoint a new manager,interest is bound to be at an all time high,there's never a dull moment that's for sure.

Its football pal,as you know players and managers come and go,but undellrstandable when its only a season,hes done brilliant and no doubt has genuine feelings for club but not enough to stay another season.

Dissapointed JBA is gone, as we prepare for Europe but it was always going to happen. Hes away to a bigger club, bigger and better resources, more money for players and no doubt a massive wage increase so who can blame him. We move on, onwards and upwards and ive no doubt the board will appoint another manager who will carry on what JBA started and take the team forward.

And now a Facebook post on the Club page confirming same. Might get drunk tonight!

Radio Clyde reporting he's gone

Sorry to see Jens go but it was always inevitable after the way he had us playing and achieving way more than anyone would have thought possible last year when he came in. Whoever takes over certainly has big shoes to fill but we as a club move on, no one person is bigger than the club. It will be interesting to see which direction the club look in to appoint his successor but the job is arguably much more attractive than it was this time last year. I sincerely hope we do not hand it to Max Rogers.

This is one of the most pleasing things of the season for me The fact that we were competitive in every game , and had no fear factor against anyone. I am looking for this mindset to continue in future seasons regardless of who the manager or players are
