Think instead of a mask someone should have straightned his broken nose
-
in his presser this week, Jens mentioned he had a lot of input into the project, so I'm assuming it meets his needs.

Its a training facillity that 99.9% of fans will never see the inside of ffs for me im glad its a modest simple structure. As it means there should be funds available to upgrade the areas of Fir park that need attention, ie the bits the paying fans use when spending their hard earned cash.

was good listening to both Jens and Fadinger in pre match. Jens hugely engaging as always and love how he manages the Scottish press. Equally encouraging that Fadinger will lose the dick Turpin style mask - like others have mentioned that must impact vision during a match. Win /lose/ draw this weekend I'm hoping to see the team back on top, sharper and slicker. Do sense taking 3 points will be just the tonic we need.

Internal layout is not a planning issue. The planning authority would not address that. However, there are genuine non planning issues issues as Goggles has laid out. As a club we should want the best bang for our buck. Anyone, absolutely anyone, can comment on the principle of the proposal and external design of the building and other aspects of the application. I would add though, that no one party has a right to a "good" view. Not an issue in this case though. Consultees can make representations objecting but also supporting an application. In short, get involved!

Genuine question - Is it normal practise during public consultation for punters off the street, no matter their background or qualifications, to give feedback and ideas on the flow and the spacial relationship of the design of the building? Would the club/architects take any notice? By the looks of some of the design statement documents they have based the model on already existing structures I always thought it was to do with residents and locals giving their tuppenceworth with regards to external aesthetics and environmental issues eg 'the squirrels will have nowhere to nest', or 'it looks ugly from my window', or 'is it going to overload sewage pumps?' As I said, genuinely wanting to know and not trying to take the piss.

Quit being so salty. Having an opinion on something is not reliant on experience or first hand involvement. If you do, it adds a degree of qualification and others can weigh up how much they weight they give your opinion. However, an odd bloody argument on a football forum. By extension, anyone who hasn’t played at least semi-pro level just shut up about Jens, his tactics and our players. The relationship between the spaces and the flow is the issue for me. It seems cramped. It could be so much more with some more thought and rejigging. We are at the public consultation phase after all and this is the time as members of the public to give our two cents. Unsure why it’s triggered you to the degree it has. I and a few others came up with a rough costing for the facility with slightly different methods, but a rule of thumb is £2k per square meter is a workable benchmark. So aye, it’s infinitely better than what we have at present but as it stands, to me, looks like Stalag Fußball.

Without knowing anything about the planning, design, costs invovled, I would just like whatever we build to be the best we can with the resources we have. It seems Jens has had significant input into what is required, so you would imagine the players have been consulted, or at least catered for. I do have concerns about ploughing money into a site that we dont own, but as others have alluded to, given its a charitable organisation we are/will be in partnership with, you would think both parties interests are intertwined. Some sort of lifetime lease or similar perhaps? Anyway, without more information, I dont think its worth getting exercised about......
-
To put matters in perspective, I suspect the additional costs involved would be fairly modest compared to the overall cost.
-
and what was your involvement in the project, what is your involvement is the build plan,, planning restrictions, materials and cost to determine its a cheap build? If you are on the board that formulated and submitted the plans I'll offer my apologies.
-
I’m talking about the space being usable, at present I’m not sure the design offers the best chance of that. But don’t let my observations get in the way of your hyperbole. Build cheap, build twice.
-
I could just hear the outcry from fans if we blew the entire Lennon Miller money so the players can have a communal place and a double height gym. Jesus Christ get real. The club cant do right for doing wrong. We don't need a feckin Spa.
-
It would be so typically Motherwell to go to Tynecastle and beat Hearts on the back of two poor results against Falkirk and Dundee. For that reason I'm going 2-1 Motherwell.

Only if the park was muddy tho.

Let’s go 3-0 up and finish the game that way.

Certainly not how I've used a sauna in the past.
-
The keeper and defence were all doing what they are trained to do, be brave and play the ball out. Watt played a pass without looking, that wasn’t in the plan, the goal was on him.
-
AFAIK covered seating and toilet facilities are required for all SWPL teams, so they may have to include something if they want the Women's team to play there.

I think this is going to be a very tough game and we really need to get back to doing what we were good at. If big Thor fit it would be great as Maswanhise looks like a guy thinking of his next transfer. Below are just my own views and probably won't have anyone agreeing but still an improvement than trying to tell jokes. 🤪 1) as most know I was very critical of Ward at start of season but to be honest was quick to hold my hand up and acknowledge the improvement. However last game it was back to the crazy short passes out and were plenty warnings before that stupid 2nd goal which he was partly at fault for but Watt the main instigator. Also way off his line and almost caught out by Miller but it was a great save to be fair. 2) Watt another that seems to be believing the hype about him. Almost a billy big baws attitude with the one extra fancy touch, the world cup pass and haaland style celebrations. He needs to get back doing what he was good at and keeping it simple and retaining possession I do have fears about last 6 games but no reason why we cant bounce back and also hopefully have decent officials. No issue, seems you don’t mind waiting half an hour to wash yer baws.
-
Are saunas still a thing for footballers, or has the sports science moved on from that? I quite like the look of the plans and have zero concerns it doesn't look like a 5 star resort.

Expert is very generous, I did study architecture but never worked in practice. I did make a model of the Alfred McAlpine stadium in Huddersfield out of spaghetti (as it was far cheaper than balsa wood) for a second year precedent study, does that qualify me? There’s a couple more informed than me on budgeting and planning, StAndrew7 being one who deals with tenders and bidding in a slightly different field but most is transferable and his observations sound. What illustrates the issues with the design being a bit of a crowbar is little things you notice. Theres no pleasant communal/informal space for the players. There’s two shown which are effectively a glorified corridor between the main changing room and atrium which won’t be used in practice. Other wee things like a referees/management changing room with three showers, a home dressing room with ten and a secondary one with only four ….. I don’t know if anyone has used the gym at Wishaw Sports Centre, it’s an enclosed wee space that feels a bit claustrophobic, there’s a reason commercial gyms are in spaces from 15ft to double height ceilings. A way to combat this is extend the building to join the garage. In that space make the gym double height and have a mezzanine, halving the current gym footprint on the existing plan. Move the lecture theatre upstairs to the carpark side and a player lounge overlooking the pitches. It opens space on the ground floor to make things less pokey. The space vacated by the lecture theatre, the secondary changing room could be moved over to make the west side of the building less congested and a changing room better befitting the u18’s and women. The warm and cold plunge pools is nice but surprised a ten person sauna wasn’t included, you can get one for £7k. In for a penny in for a pound. Come WS, pony up.
