    Smoke Bombs

This thread started out with smoke bombs, but ended up with just the bangers.
  2. This thread is deja vu. Lost count of the number of times last season (and the season before) where doom and gloom set in because we hit a dip for 2 or 3 games. I understand the disappointment of a poor performance, but sometimes I wonder if posters on here actually follow our team. We have a small squad, many youngsters, who will be inconsistent. After the Utd. game, McCall said he was worried about a number of players carrying knocks and we just don't have the dpeth of squad to deal with large scale changes. I remember all the talk prior to Sevco when people were saying they didn't care if we had to field our U-20 team every week. I can only imagine this place if that had happened. People talk about wanting a competitive league, but then moan when teams can all beat each other on any given Saturday. Seems like what they mean is they want a competitive league where we finish a clear second and everybody below us is of a similar (but poorer) standard.
  3. Favourite player ever in a 'Well shirt. As a callow youth I didn't realise how gifted he was, I just took it for granted he would get to the ball first and bury it in the net. His speed over the first 20 yards was lethal and his finishing second to none. Another class player who missed out on caps due to not playing for the OF. One of the few players who, when you look back today, is still as good (or better) than you remember.
  4. It's certainly older technology and has it's own issues. However, like all technologies it will take it's own sweet time to disappear. The reason it's not supported by Apple products is because, ironically, it is proprietary technology that Steve Jobs had no control over. There are, however, apps out there that will play flash.

    Smoke Bombs

While that's probably a great night out in Inverness, some things only really work in a large scale.

    Smoke Bombs

With an 80,000 crowd in the San Siro for a Champions League game, looks impressive. With under 4,000 on a Saturday in Dingwall, looks like weans playing with bangers.
  7. We have managed to, almost single handedly, keep Dundee in the SPL before with our donation of points to them, so it wouldn't be the biggest shock. My concern at the moment is all the Faddy-love and attention has lost us some focus.
  8. Been complaining about Barnstaple for months, but it seems to have become worse recently. Been switching the commentary off in the early stages he has become so unbearable. I like Kris Jack, and enjoyed his commentaries before he joined MFC TV, but his efforts are being destroyed. And as if the content wasn't bad enough, the decibel level is even worse. When you are wired up to a mic, screaming into it is not recommended.
  9. Us and almost everyone else. That's part of the downside (or fun depending on your perspective) of a competitive league. Wasn't that long ago Pat Fenlon was bemoaning the fact that his team had the chance to go second on 7 different occasions and failed every time. If you don't play your best, anybody in this league is likely to beat you.
  10. I can't even listen to MFC TV commentary now thanks to him. I switched off the Dundee Utd game after the first 15 mins as it was unbearable. I think he has actually got worse in the past couple of months. Even more annoying due to the fact the Kris Jack actually does a decent job.
  11. BTW, here is the extent of the Well Society twitter updates from the Reconstruction Discussion i.e. the "major points"
  12. That would require internet, which I was told wasn't available to the club at the last meeting!
  13. In fairness, I raised this issue months ago when the Well Society was being formed and no action was taken. They made a big deal about all the overseas members they were attracting and were actively pursuing ex-pats for their cash, but have done nothing to make sure they can participate. I didn't even receive ballot papers for the Sevco vote. I'm on twitter and follow both the club and the Well Society. There was scant information tweeted on either. And how difficult would it be to distribute the presentation during or even after the meeting? In the 21st century it's really easy to set up a conference call facility - some are even free and given that I raised the problem prior to the first Society meeting (almost 1 year ago!), there has been plenty of time to sort out the basics.
  14. Faddy scored 24 goals in the 201 league appearances since he left. I think we need his creativity more than his goal tally. However, I don't think anyone but you would base McCall's tactics one one substitute appearance of a guy that's not even match fit.
  15. When they Well Society meeting was called to discuss these proposals, I asked if they would set up a conference call or some sort of internet stream so the overseas members (and domestic members who live some distance away) could participate. The answer was "Naw". At the very least they could have recorded it and shared the presentation materials.
  16. I'd be more cynical if the Well Society had allowed me to listen to the information at the last meeting. I'm working with 3rd hand information at the moment.
  17. I heard part of the reason clubs like ours are voting for the weird league structure is because part of the deal also gets rid of the 11 - 1 majority requirements. So if 7 clubs don't want the OF to get a bigger split, they can vote it down.
  18. Doesn't the new change in voting structure mean Sevco can't railroad any changes when they are back in the top flight though?
  19. He's not a striker. McCall was pretty up front about that when he signed him and even commented on his lack of goals while he was on trial.
  20. Change days since they used to open one gate up at half time and let everyone in for free.
  21. Aye, read that he was expecting to sign this week.
  22. I've never been a fan of the split in general, but that last post could do with a few.
  23. In fact, when Dundee Utd and Aberdeen were winning the league it was a 10 team set up. Not sure what that proves either, tbh.
  24. Any win, any way, will be a great result. 1 - 0 will do for me.
