  1. You haven't been watching us that long then...

  2. I'm always going on about big drops in standard, well, I grew up in an era of managers, never mind players, managers of the calibre of Alex Ferguson, Jim McLean, Jock Stein as well as Tommy McLean, Jock Wallace, Walter Smith, Archie Knox, Alex Miller, Alex Smith etc, etc. There is no one in the game now anywhere near even the least of these guys. It's a shame Dundee United fell just short a couple of times in Europe but none the less Jim McLean was one of the great managers of his era at continental level, not just at domestic level. The game has changed and I'm the product of the era of my youth but I think the changes have been to the detriment of Scottish football. These guys were giants and few were taller than Jim McLean.

  3. The usual suspects leaving the fault directly at the managers door I see... ...I'm nae happy Clapper, but that today was as good as I've seen us play for a while, up to a point. The point where we stopped being good was when we needed to get the ball in the net...we were wasteful in the extreme, particularly Lang and Polworth, with decision making in the final third being absolutely ridiculous at times. Defensively we looked ok, with Lamie having a decent game and Crawford protecting the defence well. We can discuss, subs and 'why did he do that' or 'why didn't he do that', and I do find the perseverance with White to be strange, but do we even know if Cole is 100% fit, or Maguire has trained all week? In my opinion, we lost two points today after a decent performance where Utd weren't really ay the races, and we lost the points because we didnt take our chances, rather than because of substitutions.

  4. That was so frustrating. Better team, better chances, looked really comfortable, didnt put the game to bed and the inevitible happens. Our decision making in the final third is costing us big time. Main culprits today were Lang, who should have played Polworth in on goal in the 2nd half and O'Donnell for the shot that others have already covered. But in truth you could pick out multiple offenders over the whole season. But yet again the subs! I really dont know what to say about them. White may not have lost us the game, but if you are the manager and you have the choice of Cole, Hastie or White and you choose the latter? Similarly with Cornelius. I was delighted to see him getting some game time, but if you are the manager and havent seen fit to play him in 588 days and you are trying to see out a 1-0 win for a vital 3 points, is that really the time you chose to throw the youngster on, especially when you have the vastly more experienced Maguire as an alternative? Im not in the Robbo out camp. Never have been and it would take quite a lot to get me there, but he cost us that game today with those subs and if he keeps doing it the pressure will continue to mount on him.

  5. That’s really hard lines. We were very good today, creating plenty of chances and in control for much of the game. On the back of a solid performance against Aberdeen midweek, there’s plenty to be positive about. Persist with a similar shape and personnel and we’ll soon return to winning ways. It’s just a shame that we’re about to lose Lang who despite fluffing a few opportunities today, has the potential to be really effective in a front two. Mentions to Watt and O’Donnell who were excellent, Crawford also starting to look like a useful acquisition.

  6. Is there a single person on this forum that would have put Whyte on before Cole and Cornelius before McGuire?! Raging at Robinson after that. Although to be fair we should have been out of sight with the chances we had.

  9. Genuine Scottish football legend. The only manager to banjo a journalist for having the audacity to ask an awkward question. Jim and his brother Tommy were two of the greater things to happen to Scottish football in the 80’s and 90’s. RIP Jim

  10. Jordan White the big question is can we hang on to him when the big bids come in during the transfer window

  11. If I was Cole I’d be knocking on his door on Monday saying “gaffer, no offence but what exactly do I have to do to get ahead of some of the pish you’ve got here?”

  12. Not that he done anything wrong. In reality he doesn’t do much of anything. I think the comments, at least mine, are more aimed at Robinson for putting him on the pitch instead of Cole who would offer much more. I’m not in the “Robinson out” camp but his subs have not been the best decisions lately.

  13. Chasing games or trying to hold onto one goal leads will more often than not result in us conceding late on. Our experienced professionals continually make poor decisions switch off and dont mark properly.

  14. But that substitution changes our shape, our approach, our mindset, so it’s little to do with White himself but the dynamic changes and we lose the points.

  15. Raging with O'Donnell when in injury time he attempts a shot from way out rather than taking ball into corner. Agree with others over subs . Nothing against White or Cornelius but surely the correct subs should have been Cole or Maguire or Mc Ginley. Only ourselves to blame for dropped points.

  16. Threw it away big time,I've no idea why we brought white on yet again and not cole, another substitution that's been counter productive.

  17. Chance after chance squandered. No idea why Cole got overlooked.

  18. Polworth the dead ball expert who has never actually scored with a shot.

  19. Even if he polworth can just start moving the ball onto our players and not give it away that will help

  21. The temporary suspension of the points award is procedural. However, this whole saga is dragging on too long, to our and Accies' detriment. Whatever the outcome, we should be compensated financially. I stand by my original opinion that the games should replayed, if and only if, the SPFL have information on the availability of players. If St Mirren and Kilmarnock have to play with 13 fit players selected from their entire squads, so be it. That way both clubs would have a sporting chance to beat us and reclaim the points as their own, albeit with drastically weakened teams. They should not benefit from the cancellations. As things stand, Stephen Robinson might adopt different tactics and/or pick different teams in the next few games depending on our league position. We are the innocent party in this saga.

  22. Suspending the points awards for us and Hamilton only highlights what an absolute shambles the SPFL and SFA are currently the whole system of how football in Scotland is administered is not fit for purpose. St Mirren and Killie blatantly broke the rules and as a result were unable to fulfill their fixtures, so its a no brainer. Feck knows what grounds they are appealing on, but the SPFL are just making Scottish football a laughing stock, it's a disgrace . Can you imagine the national uproar if either of the ugly sisters had been awarded the points and then have them taken away, Doncaster and his whole team should be told to clear their desks and GTF.
