  1. Let's go back to the beginniing. The source, "close to big Dec", went to the Record with details of his contract. If they and indeed the story, were inaccurate or downright wrong, all he had to do was to correct that publicly. He has NOT done that. In short, make of that what you will.

  3. Regardless of situation we need him back and then once we are safe then dont care if we play him or not. PS. Anyone see Ricky Wilson of Kaiser Chiefs on Saturday kitchen this morning? Looked like he had lost weight........I predict a diet !!!

  4. Even in this world of fake news, conspiracy theories and social media rumours, this story became "fact" in double quick time. (I don't really care about his real or imaginary contract negotiations, btw. I'm not exactly Jimmy Reid, but I have no problems with any worker negotiating employment terms with their bosses. And the club obviously wasn't unhappy about either, otherwise he wouldn't have kicked another ball this season). Gallagher's form had dropped slightly at the start of this season, but that put him in good company with literally every other player in a 'Well shirt. In the future, however, if anybody ever again asks the question about why our better players don't get international recognition ahead of guys in the English League, or are upset that a player from Dundee Utd commands a transfer fee 5 times bigger than anything we ever manage, just point them back to this thread. The way fans talk down our players - including one who was instrumental in securing Scotland's place in the finals - is quite something.

  5. Wouldn't you think, if the club knew that this was a non story, they would just have come out and said so, and this would have stopped all the speculation? The fact that they said nothing speaks volumes.

  7. He would have read it in the Daily Record, the same as the guys on here.

  8. I thought it was maybe one of those time traveller photos you see on the internet. I can't add anything to the white shirt mystery, but the "borrowing it" seems the most likely explanation. I wonder if someone like Davie Hay would remember.

  9. Aren't those the very factors that define a team in the league position we're in though? The teams around us all have the same complaints. It's quite simple from what I can see. We go out most summers to try and sign the best players we can get on our extremely limited budget. Some seasons it works wonders and we hit gold with a few, and some seasons it doesn't. This past summer is a season that it hasn't. Although it's easy to look back and claim we knew all along it wasn't going to work when in fact most fans were happy that we were getting our business done early and were fairly optimistic. Alexander is tasked with the exact same job as Robinson, which is to try to sign some players who can do a turn for us and get us into the top six, while also looking for a few that either come from the youth setup or outside the club that we can maybe punt on for a profit down the line. We've had a good few players come through the youth setup the past number of years, but it's only natural that we're not going to churn out a Turnbull, Campbell or James Scott every year. There will be years where none of the youngsters really hit the heights. Alexander is tasked with keeping us up, then in the summer he's tasked with rebuilding the squad as best he can to accomplish a top six finish on an extremely limited budget. Same as Robinson before him, and same as the guy who comes after him.

  10. It never will be confirmed officially but you don't need to see shite to know its there. Gallacher signed the original deal, then after a decent run of form, International recognition he suddenly thought he was a world star and Motherwell were not good enough for him. So then the toys were out of the pram and he was reneging on the deal and whoring himself to all and sundry to get away. He obviously got his wish re the deal as he had an instant recovery from injury, but the damage has been done, and it's obvious he no longer wants to be at the club, so for me he should never play for us again. All this he's the best defender at the club chat may be true but why play someone who obviously won't be giving his best in case he gets injured and misses the Scotland squad. I would like to think GA had realised the shite Gallacher was up to and benched him accordingly, so for me he should never play for us again, we won't miss him for 5 games and a cup run.

  11. The entire point of the video is that the four players don't want anymore meaningless phrases or empty gestures. Credit to the four of them for being so honest and being able to expose and examine very difficult issues. If they want to move the issue forward it would be good to see players from different clubs come together and set out some ideas to improve the situation.

  12. Got to agree with wellsince75, but after Gahhagher's phantom injury to allow him time to negotiate the removal of the clause in his contract that triggered the extension, I really couldn't care less what the guy does from now on. His heart isn't in Motherwell anymore, so the sooner he goes the better.

  13. Ah here we go, "Stand Together", another meaningless bandwagon phrase to make it look like we care about racism. Loada shite. So we have "Take the Knee", "Black Lives Matter", "Stand Together", "Kick it Out" , "No room for Racism", "Give racism the red card", when the authorities actually running the game cant be arsed to work together to produce a coherent anti racism campaign what real hope is there? And thats before we even mention the Bigotry that is allowed to run free in Scottish Football in particular We need education (kids arent born racist, its learned behaviour) We MUST have a combined and coherent anti racism message both in Football & Society as a whole, no more bandwagons, and there must be a Zero Tolerance attitude. Until that happens, everything else is just pish & wind

  14. Last game was 24th August 2019. 19th months ago. He had his operation in September 2019 - I can't recall if there's been further setbacks, or what the current position is now.

  15. I’m on kit collector groups and there has been a positive reaction to it and that will likely generate sales from non Motherwell fans. Sometimes you need to see the wider picture.
