Wasn’t at the game today and never watched it online, but the result and performance surely isn’t a shock to anyone who watches us or knows anything about football. Let’s be clear we were terrible last week and just beat one of the worst teams on the championship . The football on show was rotten and the couple of new additions were just that tiny bit less rotten than the rest of our squad on the day. Nothing changed last week and of course the same league form was going to continue with that muppet in charge . He’s out his depth . His team talk they showed up there was laughable and more suited to an amateur league. Bottom of the league , rotten to the core with endless jobs for the boys appointments at every level which have been marshalled by burrows and the board . A bowling club board with a pub team manager - that is why we are bottom of the league . Change the manager and there’s a small glimmer we might finish 11th. Maintain the status quo and we are relegated. The only thing for sure is a large proportion of our support still won’t lay any blame at burrows or Hammells door and will continue with their welcome to our great little club, we are punching above our weight and it’s a rollercoaster patter. Hammells record is a disgrace and the stats back my statement up. Get him and his assistant out. A club playing legend maybe but an absolute managerial failure. just how can he still think we don’t need a midfielder who can tackle and stick with the same 3 again today4 points

I agree with you but for me that's down to the club being as badly managed off the field as it is on it. SH should never have been appointed in the 1st place no previous managerial experience but he was the cheap easy option. Sticking with Hammell will get us relegated as it is obvious he has no idea how to turn things round, add this to Burrows leaving, suggestions of financial issues and the club has big problems. For me it's vital that we get an experienced manager in ASAP to turn things round and keep us up this year as going down, and all the issues that brings could be a disaster for the club longer term. But given the apparent unstabillity in the boardroom, possible financial problems etc I have no confidence that the board will make the changes needed in time.3 points

Absolutely no inspiration from Steven Hammell . Starting with his bored stiff interviews looking clueless, then his team selection same guff every week, he must be due to give some of the under achievers a rocket up the arse . I don’t think he has the experience or bottle to do it. Doesn’t even get excited or animated on the touchline during the game, that’s passed on to the team , he out his depth. There is not one leader within that team on the park, and that’s Hammell’s fault. Captain being the goalie is a joke. Oh for a Craigen or Lasley or Campbell character that knows what Motherwell and Scottish football is about in the team. There is no one with any character in the team to push us forward.2 points

It's like talking to Grandpa Simpson with you, last post was a million pounds on VAR, Lamie being denied a penalty and now its the pitch being blamed for us being shite 🤦♂️2 points

It doesn't matter who the manager is, the tone here is that the players are useless, so at this late date in January, how will that help any manager, Hammell or not?. We have a structural management problem, and with Burrows going it will now clearly lie with the board and the society. The villains are those who signed all the dross you all hate, so the issue is more fundamental than the manager.2 points

I will personally be delighted if he proves me wrong, I don’t want championship football.2 points

There is a lot of secrecy around long-term injuries or illnesses nowadays, which is perhaps due to agents advising the parent club not to disclose personal info to protect the player/asset they represent. Legal issues, etc.2 points

Poor guy. It’s a hard watch seeing him repeat the same things just about every week. He has undoubtedly had bad luck with injuries but he is looking increasing out of his depth with each passing poor performance/result. It’s hard to see this ending anything other than badly.1 point

100% Yorky. Bringing in new players won't improve matters that much if they're not being properly coached and managed.1 point

Hammell selected him to start. Its not the lad's fault as he's doing the best he can, although his confidence is very low. Hammell had a couple of other options which he chose not to go with. Don't blame Shields.1 point

One shot on target in 90 mins vs St Mirren. Time for the manager to go...1 point

I said that months ago yet it is only now people realise it. Some blind men on this site. Either that or they know fuck all about football1 point

At least Oily Crankshaft looks interested and has a bit of spark. If we get anything it’ll come from him.1 point

We’re utterly hopeless but the sad fact is St. Mirren are not really much better. Don’t want to be a doom monger but I’m afraid the club had better begin to prepare for Championship football next season.1 point

I've got loads of confidence in Hammys ability to see the issue and know the positions he needs to solve. Previous managers post match comments often led me wondering if I'd been watching the same game. Although it's been dire with mistakes I've always felt Hammy's summary of games was akin to many of us , general punters. The key is can he solve the issues, here's hoping he can. 3 points today would get some off his back.1 point

Strange that shields is playing when we're actively trying to move him on,crankshaw is done enough to have kept his place in the team.1 point

I know conditions weren't great but based on last Saturday, McGinn will not do a job at left back. Either play O'Donnell there as he's looked more comfortable than McGinn did or sign a left back. If Hammell thinks McGinn at left back will do, he should get his jotters... If we are to do more business this month then the priorities should be • A left back • A defensive midfielder Any talk of another central defender is wishful thinking...1 point
-
I think McGinn will do a job for us at left back until the end of the season and we have O'Donnell as well who can play both sides. Max Johnston looks more of a threat going forward than either of the two of them and seems to have the engine and the running ability to get up and down the park. If we have McKinstry attacking from wide left then having an attacking right back and more defensive left back makes sense.1 point

Quietly pleased with the business done so far and with Hammy stating we are still looking to do more it could turn out to have been quite a productive window for us. At the very least the moves that have already happened proves that maybe, just maybe, Hammy does know what he is doing, does know where the problems in the team lie, and has been actively trying to fix them. Of course, we still need to translate that into results, but it would be nice if the manager and the team could grab a few wins and prove a few people wrong.......1 point

No doubting the financial pull of their larger fanbase, it’s the same Hearts who have willing philanthropists within their fan foundation. Some painting a darker picture than it should be. Club recognise mindset requires changing as the footballing landscape in which we operate has changed massively in recent times with Brexit a contributory factor.1 point
