  1. Honestly, some of the patter in this thread is cringeworthy. The very notion that our kit designer and our club should take anything a group of laddies who bang a drum and wave flags in a corner of Parkhead think about our kit into account when making a commercial decision is absolute madness. That these guys actually take up enough space in Motherwell fans heads to even be a factor is mental. Honestly, who cares what they think? Or what they say? All this "we're just giving them a reason..." nonsense? You don't think they already have a million reasons in their deluded minds as to why we're all "secretly" Rangers fans? While the blue version of them in the other half of the city has their own little takes of those same reasons to think we're all "secretly" Celtic fans who hate "the Rangers." Interestingly, I come from a family that rests firmly on the green side of the divide. A fair number of Celtic fans, with absolutely no one making any kind of connection with our strip and anything untoward. Not a single peep from anyone. This is a case of a very small minority on social media making a racket, as is usually the case. It's bollocks, and that Motherwell fans are even giving a shit is astounding.

  5. This forum beggars belief at times. I can't believe debate about strip. I looked at it and not once did I think there was anything to report. When I saw the top all I could think of was mid 70's and the goals we scored. I couldn't care less about the Green Brigade, a support that are no position to comment on anybody. Surely if that is case they will be delighted with our home strip as it has a hoop!! Lol Think enough been said and we move on. COYW

  6. Remember it's a back three so you need to factor in McGinn has been third wheel in both lineups. If anyone thinks that simply putting Blaney and Casey in for Lamie and Mugabi will be a vast improvement, they're wrong. Blaney and Casey are solid enough defenders when they have had Butcher organising them and pushing them around. Dundee United last day of the season showed that they were lesser players without a talker alongside them. Either we try an experienced player like McGinn in the middle of the three or we need to find a Aldred/Hartley type figure on loan for six months. If you're playing a back three, the guy in the middle of the three has to have a degree 9f football intelligence and leadership. Don't see an obvious candidate in the squad currently...

  7. The only thing you can rely on the BBC for is their protection if you're one of them.

  8. If its not the OF the BBC are not really interested.

  9. The Mugabi /Lamie partnership just doesn’t work . This is feeding into the team in general compared to the Casey /Butcher partnership where it felt we had a good solid foundation . Think we’ve given them umpteen chances to prove they can do it but time and time again over the last few seasons the combination doesn’t work . Persevering with them imo will cost us big time this season

  10. I didn't want him when he signed but he's won me over,he's definitely one of our most important players.

  12. Why you seem to take so much pleasure in belittling and trying to wind up your fellow supporters is baffling. I personally don't think Moult has what it takes at this level now, sadly. But I'd never dream of mocking any Motherwell fan who still holds out hope and would love to see a fairytale ending.

  14. Building on this, there’s a reason our fortunes shifted once Casey and Butcher stepped in. SK knows this.

  15. It was far from convincing but it's another game under the belt and a win but that should be the last we see of those two chancers in defence,we can't go into this season we them even as back up,get atleast one out and someone else in.

  16. This is the performance we needed to allow Kettlewell to justify putting certain players on the bench at best. Onwards.

  17. Get out of jail there. How often do we need to see this shite from Mugabi and Lamie

  18. It should come as no surprise that we have been a shambles at the back, mistakes and now a red card, mugabi and lamie can't be trusted,I doubt we will get rid of both but getting one out the door and another defender signed had to happen.

  19. I think Spittal is a guy we need to be looking at extending. Was a key part of the letter stages of last season and started well this season.

  20. No. Let's see how SK handles them now. They're shite.

  21. Not one league reconstruction has ever changed the product on the park. You hear the same pish every time, allows teams to play youngsters, takes away fear factor... It's all shite it's just rearranging the chairs on the Titanic. It doesn't increase crowds one bit. Fans are no more enticed by watching their playing Ayr Utd twice as opposed to St Mirren 3 times.

  23. It’s attitudes like this that empower Celtic and the victim mentality which they and alot of their supporters have and use to their advantage to bully and manipulate everyone in Scottish football and society to get what they want. What they think/don’t think/want/don’t want/like/don’t like should have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with what design of strip we have. And I’m sorry, but you clearly DO care what they think, otherwise why even mention the green brigade ā€œhaving a field dayā€ etc?

  25. It’s a positive for us a as a club that we haven’t taken yet another gamble on Moult as the last thing we need just now is to bring in an injury prone striker who is untouchable with a large section of the support. No harm to the player himself, I loved watching him playing for us and nothing will ever take that day at Hampden away from us or him. But that’s all in the past now and there’s no room for sentiment. And for the misty eyed fanboys who were desperate for him to sign again… #Hey there you with the sad face come up to my place and live it up. You, there wi yer Moult top on what do you cry for? let’s live it up# šŸŽ¶ No one is bigger than the club.

  26. A lot will be relieved then that Louis hasn't signed. Personally I would have given him a 6 month deal, yep a risk but doesn't matter now. Good luck Louis, always a well legend

  28. I'm more interested in entertainment and any team we play on grass is much better for that. Not to mention injuries like the on Butcher picked up. I'm happy to see new teams in our league too - would have loved Ayr Utd to have made it this time - but I doubt Dundee are more of a threat than Queens Park. In fact, Queens Park are probably spending more these days to get into the top flight.

  29. I'm not a fan of Goodwin, but I'd much rather have Utd in our league than Killie or Livi.

  31. There thick as fuck at the best of times and it really does show there mind set if there getting upset about another teams strip, both old firm teams hate us with a passion and I wouldn't have it any other way,it just shows how little old motherwell have got under the skin over the years 😃

  32. Or it will be the Tony and Louis show, the dream partnership, 25 goals each as untd romp home and back to the premiership 😁

  33. I'd rather he signed for us and didn't kick a ball than see him in the colours of that horrible club.

  34. Have a look at yourself ffs, what a feckin ridiculous statement to make, its a football strip, so we don't wear green or blue or orange in case we upset the blue and green morons, who gives a feck what that mob think.

  36. A wee word of caution about QOS. Saw them in a friendly against Livi a couple of weeks ago. Although they lost 2-0 at Livi they actually showed up pretty well. Apart from conceding a very early and late goal they held their own and could easily have scored. Don't know the name of the guy but the number 15 on the left wing impressed with his speed and strength. Yup, I expect us to win but not in a canter.

  37. I was talking earlier about getting some younger players into our back line with Butcher, McGinn and O'Donnell all in their 30's. Now we sign Souare who's 33. Might be a decent player individually but I have my concerns collectively. The impact Johnston made last season and even in individual games coming on was there for all to see. In my opinion we need that kind of dynamism especially from one of the full backs.

  38. You’re entitled to object to an amber sash if you feel like it. But to suggest that said amber sash somehow associates the top or us with the orange order is absolute unadulterated fucking nonsense.

  39. I don’t really visit this forum very often anymore and only been back on in recent weeks. I must say, you do come across as rather over opinionated and my visualisation is of an angry wee man with a big red face. Take a chill pill pal.

  40. Kettlewell was fine acting big baws to the wee Japanese guy. We'll see if he has the stones to deal with Lamie and Bevis because they are both fucking hopeless.

  42. Fine, I don't care what they think either, but the problem being, they come to Fir Park and what will they do to the seating etc in that stand. We just open a can of worms by naively choosing that strip and giving these idiots something to moan about. I agree its only a football strip to us, but not to them, going by some of the comments I've seen on social media.

  43. That's what I call an away strip, not the horrible one we have. We have certainly left ourselves open to the bigots in our west of Scotland society. Imagine going to Ceptic and wearing our away strip. The Green brigade will have a field day. Right up their street to peddle their intolerance and hatred. A sad day indeed.
