Yes mika looked best option. Why could we not have used wages of wilkinson plus bear plus 1 other to keep big kev? Clubs run by amateurs.3 points

It's a disappointing result of course but it's only 3rd defeat in 21 games. Kettlewell is going to make mistakes of course as do all managers. Hopefully forum doesn't become a meltdown session. We are well fans, it's always going to be a rollercoaster as Ronan Keating once "attempted" to sing COYW2 points

Just back in a shite game with two poor teams St Mirren had 1 shot on target all game and it went in, we had the same and their keeper pulled off a brilliant save fine margins between success and failure. Both teams were as shite as each other but we missed a chance to progress today they were there for the taking but we fucked up, SK needs to get them up for the league now as if we continue like that we will struggle big time. Oh and Bevis Mugabi should be nowhere the team a complete bombscare.1 point

Maybe you could offer to give the team a motivational talk before the next cup tie1 point

Most of my jokes have that reaction with folk 🤣🤣🤣 Ps. Watching Spurs v Man United. If Wan Bissaka played up here would the chant be. "Wan Wan Bissaka..... there's only one Wan Wan Bissaka"....hold on ...Nurse Ratchet is coming......medication time (one for lovers of 1970's classic movies)1 point

All I will say is again we have lost 3 out of 21 under SK, let's cast our minds back to the Raith cup defeat, now that really was dire times. Keep the faith as Bon Jovi once said. I think we will be just fine this season1 point

We aren't creating any chances. Over the 3 games so far our attacking play has been woeful.1 point

It's always gutting to go out the cup with barely a whimper,we were woeful today.1 point

And we also don't have enough of a fan base to attract some rich weirdo to buy us.1 point

Hoary old chestnut I know, but fan ownership for a club with a small hard core support of around 4,000 is at the heart of the “we’re skint” mantra. It was commendably idealistic and laudable but more a reaction (inevitable?) to our administration. I think as time has moved on it’s become increasingly clear that we simply don’t have a large enough fanbase to support our ownership model.1 point

What's the size of the St Mirren crowd got to do with the point ... The point was historically, every time we get a big support turning out, we invariably fail to deliver.1 point

I’m not necessarily disagreeing with anything you have said there and I too think it will be a long hard season. But going as far back to administration 20 years ago now all we have heard from the club is “we are skint, we have no money”. Even when we had Dempster as CEO and were regularly qualifying for Europe after high league finishes that’s all you got out of the club! The same was the case when Burrows was at the helm. Just constant poverty pleading.1 point

Apparently quite a few people missed earlier post (can’t recall who from) Mika recovering from an injury. Limited playing time initially. NOW PAST THAT STAGE. So we now have an injury free player not yet up to full fitness.1 point

Even one game on - this is still entirely the incorrect option. Souare is injury prone.1 point

Just when we thought it was safe to be a well fan . sounds like a very poor display with a single shot on goal. that being said some perspective needed in terms of where we are . One defeat doesn’t lead to doom nor one lead to SK walking on water .1 point

Struggle to get goals. That might be the biggest understatement of all time. No money. No CEO. Rudderless club. Only saved from relegation by one players goals. It is going to be a long hard season.1 point

What pisses me off is we have 1400 fans there and again for the hundredth time at least in my time supporting them they let a big crowd down. If we'd gor a result we have got a carry over in attendance for the Kilmarnock game. As it is it will be the same bloody 4000 diehards. We never carry momentum as soon as it looks like building we serve up shite like today.1 point

First loss in 13, first game we haven't scored under SK, and first away loss under him. I think he has to go now and take the whole team with him 😀 Sounded like a proper cup game at least1 point

Bit harsh, SK has definitely made us harder to beat than we were under Hammell and Alexander and he’s more than earned his chance to take us forward. Losing a Cup tie against St.Mirren or any other top flight side isn’t really an indicator of how good a Motherwell manager is. You could stick Pep Guardiola in charge of us and we would still get pumped out of cups by the likes of St.Mirren.1 point

WTF does he stick a guy on the bench who set a goal up and scored one in his last game. Beginning to think Kettlewell was made to look good as a manager by one player Van Veen. Tactically he hasn't got it.1 point

At least we have one or two players who can come on and make a difference…… i hope !!1 point

Why when we take big crowds do we always fuck up. Early days in the game but St Mirren are a hard nut to crack down there. I'd take a draw and penalties now. 🫣1 point

Irrespective of your opinion of Barry Maguire, with his leaving we're a bit light in midfield. I know Kettlewell wants to run with a smaller squad but we have five midfielders, one of whom is just about to turn 17. With Slattery's habit of picking up a suspension and the chance of injuries, should we expect a midfielder to come in this window..?1 point

We were due a defeat at some point. I’d rather it be in the league cup than in the league. Need to put in better performance against Killie who have started season well.0 points

In the paper today it says Arsenal have written into the loan that he is only allowed to play a certain number of minutes due to an injury.0 points
