The left sided player we signed in january would have been a good start, rather than bringing o'donnell and then have to move devine.2 points

No Spittal today? Injured I take it? That’s a hammer blow if that’s the case. The undroppable Captain Fantastic and Paton keep their places. That team is going to get fucking hammered today. 4-0 Hearts.2 points

In the last 6 games we've taken 10 points. Ross County have taken 1. I take it you don't actually believe in upward momentum then?2 points

I think the SOD sub was more to do with Vargas coming on that side. He would have torn Devine a new one. For all SOD has his detractors he did marshall him reasonably well and better than Devine would have.1 point

Different topic but if Germany v Scotland was tomorrow I would have Shankland as the lone striker but loyalty from Clarke will mean Dykes or Adams who ain't exactly firing on all cylinders1 point

And what have you seen of him this season that tells you he is worth a new contract? He has had a mare every game he has started he is done at the this level.1 point

Aye but we’re 9th in the table fighting relegation so our defence is shite1 point

SK mentioned he's sick fed up with the same basic errors. STOP playing the same culprits then Stuart. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Stop the loyalty to those who hurt us regularly.1 point

I wasn’t really expecting us to win today however I thought we played very well in the first half and managed to nullify them as an attacking force to the extent that they were forced into changing formation and shape for the second half. However I felt we never offered very much ourselves as an attacking force and it looked as though Kettlewell had set his stall out for a draw. They never managed to cut us open from open play and on the rare occasions when we got on the front foot their defence looked very ordinary but we lacked the quality and composure needed to take advantage. Sadly the two goals we lost were yet again quite soft from a defensive point of view. However we are 7 points clear of Ross County and 10 clear of Livingston and if we can beat Livingston at the end of the month then I think we’ll be okay.1 point

I’m assuming Gent was injured when he came off as he walked straight down the tunnel with what looked like a bag of ice.1 point

Mugabi , should be one of a few shown the door in the summer. He's had tons chances to improve and he makes the same basic error now he did three years ago.1 point

good summary as always . Re your who we solve the defence. I thought Casey made a difference and would keep him in the team. The simple answer is drop Mugabi. Neither Butcher or Mugabi would be in my first 11.1 point

If there is a shadow of doubt about his fitness I'd rest him next weekend, as I would with any player who has a niggle or burnt out. To all intents and purpose Livingston is the crucial game. Today was always going to be difficult against Hearts who will finish 3rd, despite what Killie might think. One or two inexperienced "wobbles" from SK, though. Fortunately they didn't make any difference at all to the result and little difference to the scoreline.1 point

Jack Vale for me. Put in a great shift and looks a handfull with the ball at his feet. Knows the importance of holding the ball up and keeping possession. Needed some team mates to get closer and help him out at times. Not sure he is the perfect replacement for Mika, but he will soften the pain until the end of the season if he stays fit.1 point

We are such a frustrating team to watch. We do so many good things in a game and then feck it up by doing some really stupid shit. We defended well as a team today for tge most part. Hearts have some gifted players and we kept our discipline well and made them play round about us. The only save Kelly had to make in the first half was McGinns header which he was trying to deflect over the bar. Second half we started really smartly on the front foot and put them under a fair bit of pressure. There were a fair few chances to get the ball in the net but we couldnt take any of them. Ultimately we paid for that. Hearts made some positive changes. Vargas being the pick of the bunch. He looks a dangerous player. That said the first goal is typical of our season. Straightforward free kick and we let the best striker in the league get a free header at it. I like Mugabi, but his one job in the team is to win headers and he let Shankland get the better if him. The second goal is a sucker punch in injury time. We were throwing everyone (even Mugabi) forward. Thought SODs was pushed in the back in the run up. Maybe he should be stronger, but Decine got given a foul against seconds earlier for literally nothing. There is no consistency with these things and it makes a mockery of VAR. Overall, decent performance at a difficult venue. Spittal would have made a difference. Hope whatever his issue is it isnt serious and we see him next week. We will need him. Not sure what more SK can do about our defending. Team were clearly well drilled today on their gameplan but individual errors keep costing us. Just need to tough it out until the summer until we can change personnel.1 point

We were never getting 3 points today against high-flying Hearts, and by the sounds of things, we made it easy for them with their goals. It also seems we engaged kitchen sink mode at the end, with Bair, Ferrie, Obika, and Mugabi (according to the radio) all playing up front. Is Kettlewell starting to panic, or is that his plan B? I don't know; I only followed on the radio. We have three games across seven days coming up. Celtic (H), Livi (A) and Rangers (A). How many points will we take?1 point

O for an old-time outfield captain who would take them by the scruff of the neck and lead by example. I just wanted to see some urgency when Hearts scored their first goal, but they don't seem capable.1 point

Our forum no doubt will have loads of moans tonight but the sellik one should be even better!! Hopefully we can add more pressure on Rodgers next week1 point

Obika on....AHH well that's our chance of rescuing a point totally gone now1 point

I thought Devine was able to play left or right? Haven't seen anywhere near enough of Buyabu to say he'd have been the better option.1 point

Just want to say before the game starts that I think starting Devine is a bad call, unless we intend spending a lot of time on the front foot and don't expect Hearts to attack down that flank. Am more than happy to be wrong about it though. Will personally play one of his grandad's albums at full pelt as punishment if I am.1 point

It's still a good line up we have. Hopefully Dan the Man finds his old form , butcher no great loss as just not the same player since returning from injury. Hope the Bair keeps up the good run1 point

I’m sorry if I caused any offence. I’ll rephrase. That team is going to be defeated quite soundly today and concede several goals, in my opinion.1 point

He does. But only when it applies to teams who are playing against us.1 point

There's no guarantee whichever Championship side emerges from the play-offs will have much upward momentum. They could easily finish the league season poorly and struggle through, as Rangers did, and everyone knows the whole concept is deliberately loaded against the Championship side. Yeah, there is a distance to go, but there's not a lot of evidence to suggest County will build a head of steam. Our defensive record may be horrific but they've 'bettered' that with a game to spare, and they'd kill for some of those useless draws we've been steadily picking up. Realistically, even that won't be enough - they need to rack up some wins, something half the league have struggled badly with this season. The one area of concern I have is Don Cowie, who surely can't be worse than Adams, although he is saddled with the players the great man left behind. Be very interesting to see if he can get a positive result at Dens today. So, nothing's over, but I'd be a helluva lot more concerned about the top of the Championship if I was a County fan.1 point

Be interested in your thoughts and I hope its along the lines of 'that Clackscat fella is talking nonsense, Davor was outstanding today' cause no matter my opinion of any player I want them to be terrific for us, enjoy the game!1 point
-
All about opinions, but I have to disagree, I think Paton brings far more to the team than Davor, although they do play completely different roles. TBH I don't get the love in with Davor, sure he is enthusiastic, runs about a lot, gives multiple high 5s to team mates and is tidy enough on the ball, however imo not physically strong enough, and not on the ball enough to influence a game. If all our midfield players are fit Davor is the one I would have on the bench, Halliday and Miller play that role much more effectively.1 point

I see where your coming from but I do feel he can do all the things you say he can't , however he doesn't do it often enough hence he's at us. All about opinions as always but a cracker I read on twitter today a well fan saying he'd drop spittall tomorrow. I mean he's easily our best player and I think anyone can see he's playing with a huge level of confidence at the moment. Some of his 1 touch pass and move is exceptional. Also Bair on Wed was rolling his foot over ball etc again confidence surging through him. It's a huge plus in players and emphasises points a lot make about being supportive.1 point
