  1. I need to give a shout out to Sods - a player I've given a lot of stick too last year I was pleased he was playing on Saturday and not put a foot wrong this season Well done my man

  2. You are correct mate European Football leaves me completely cold. Couldn't care if I never saw another European game ever again. Although I accept if we have a great season, which Id always want , that comes as part of it. Id never spend a single penny going abroad to watch a European game again Seen it done it , the novelty's past and our efforts in general have been dismal in our 38 outings. Happy to say I was fortunate to watch our best performance away (Dortmund) but all the rest, other that Odense and Nancy, have been a whole lot of nothing in my view. The money is a bonus I know but I never started supporting Motherwell to watch a balance sheet. I watch for excitement , drama and decent football and European football , for us, has produced very little of that. I don't expect anyone else to agree its just a personal opinion. For others who love it, great lap it up, if it arrives.

  3. I also tend not to be that excited by the prospect of Europe. Any cash is welcome and it's a sign (generally) of having watched us win a few games to get there and that's a good thing. But I think having seen us in Europe a few times, the novelty has worn off. However a mate of mine did make the point that it would be nice just once to have a go at Europe with the good team that got us there. Frustration is often we have a team that's good enough to qualify, then we lose half of them at the end of the season and we're in qualifying in July bedding in a new team, with players sometimes not as good.. Other than Slattery, all our key players are under contract for next season. Maybe now is the time to qualify..?

  6. I see where folks are coming from re the European argument. The only game Ive been away to was Athens and although it was sa great trip/experience, the football wasnt great. I must say, I would love to see how a JBA team gets on in European comptetition. I have a feeling it might be an entirely different experience. Of course, the League Cup doesnt present that opportunity and Id much rather see us win that than get Europe if it was a straight choice, but why cant we do both? First things first however, lets get our first league win in the bag and then we can start thinking about the semi-final.

  7. Thought we played well at the weekend attended after a surgery last week so the standing wasn't great but found a seat near the pitch which gave me a great view of our goal so all good. What really impressed me was that we've altered our tactic slightly to suit the players available or at least looked that way on another day we'd have bear aberdeen by more than one but glad we got over the line if we can get it over the line again on Saturday it'd be a fantastic return. Bit were off to hampden again

  9. When the 1970's version of the SFA suspends you for improper behaviour, like they did with Gordon, you must have been really corrupt.

  10. Totally agree. we played Rangers of the pitch in the first half, and the Rangers players had a word with that excuse for an unbiased referee and he gave them a ridiculous penalty, with Derek Johnstone running away from the goals, went down without being touched. Total fix.

  11. I think it says something about the strength of squad at the minute that even after the levels of his performance against Hearts, Just doesn't automatically walk back into the team for Saturday if he’s available. Doesn't feel at the moment that we need to take too many risks by rushing players back. Same will apply to McGinn and Hendry (and Slattery in a couple of weeks)... As to how we'll go this Saturday? In this situation with two non Old Firm teams playing each other two weeks in a row, you generally say one team doesn't win both. I'm not so sure. The aforementioned potential return of Just, Hendry and McGinn will keep the players on the pitch from relaxing too much...

  12. I thought Hearts and Aberdeen fully tested our new expansive, attractive game and we came out with a draw and a win. I hope that on Sat we will continue on our improvement and come away with a solid victory. COYW

  13. A win on Saturday would be massive for the teams confidence 3 points could see us up to 3rd depending on other results.

  14. Will help a lot if we are back to full strength for the semi. If we do make it to the final, I hope it is versus Rangers so that Welsh can play.

  15. Do you also include 1976 in that , I think that was worse than airdrie especially the circumstances involved. Jrp Gordon you were a cheating bastard.

  16. How come Celtic always get the easy draw?🤣

  17. With the possible exception of the following year when JPR Gordon gave Rangers a penalty when fat Derek tripped over his own feet about 20 yards from the box. If we had beaten Airdrie we would have got the green scum in the final, a dreadful Hearts team awaited us the next year, I suspect a cup win would have been more likely the second year. Plus that team really deserved to win something. But aye, I know what you mean.

  18. Yes of course. Realistically it is the best draw we could have hoped for at this stage as it gives us the best chance we could have hoped for to get to the final. And as I said last night we absolutely owe St.Mirren in a Cup tie so this would be perfect time to repay that debt so hopefully we send them, Robinson and their torn-faced boneheaded supporters slithering back along the M8 with their tails between their legs. I assume that common sense will prevail in terms of allocation and we get the East Stand for this one seeing as it would make no sense whatsoever in a geographical or practical sense for both supports to cross over each other and go to the far away end?

  19. Speak for yourself. If St.Mirren are in the final I certainly won’t be cheering them on. If we can’t have our ‘day in the sun(even though it will be mid-winter)’ then I don’t want any non OF club to have theirs.

  20. Can you try and be positive just for once? Aye be sore one if st mirren beat us but i think we all would have wanted that draw

  22. I'm starting to think you've never seen youngsters integrated into new teams before. Giving them a 10 minute workout in a game with no pressure is pretty standard. Otherwise you end up with fans posting on websites calling them dug shite because they hadn't got up to speed instantly with their new team mates the first 60 minutes they played.

  24. The post here was upvoted because it contents resonated, rather than eager to slate you (inevitably you default to the negative), I would hope most, like me, would have hoped for some introspection and a change in behaviour because often threads are taken off on a tangent, often any fun sapped out. Alas, as sure as the sun will rise in the East tomorrow, a well worn and predictable cycle returns. The moderators must have shared the same eyebrow raise when you used my name here considering it is what was cited as "bang out of order" and set you off a year ago. The mock outrage at the time is now shown to be disingenuous and lacking any hint of self awareness not to recognise the hypocrisy of you now doing so. But that was never what it was about eh? This was only ever done to be provocative because that's the soup you swim in. How many of your nine lives have you used up on here? Fair play to the moderators, they have patience well in excess of mine for all the extra work you bring them in what is unpaid and often a thankless task. I don't know if you followed through on your threat to contact the club CEO, or it was felt the not so cryptic posts on social media were enough. The problem is you take things into the real world to denigrate and negatively influence others, the very thing you cite as being a victim of, you also employ with gusto. You were asked without any ambiguity to cease engaging, slandering or invoking me and here we are again. You really can't help yourself. Strike Two.
