  1. I’m not sure what JBA’s career plan is but I think it might be more in the direction of managing in EPL or mainland Europe rather than either of old firm teams. Now would Celtic be a stepping stone to help him on that path or a diversion? I think it’s more impressive doing what he’s done with Motherwell than doing anything with either of the uglies. Another season or two doing the same or improving us would be very impressive indeed, making us the Scottish Bodo Glimt. The club may have to have faith and invest some money in order to maintain what we have going just now. Nothing crazy but perhaps more than planned. The increase in crowd sizes is something I’ve not seen in all my years of supporting Motherwell. Finishing higher up the league means more money. Advancing in Europe would be more money. All not guaranteed but very possible from what we have seen in a very short space of time. I’m willing to bet if we can keep this going for next season, the season ticket sales will be thru the roof

  2. I don’t ever remember being as engaged with a Motherwell manager when he does his press conferences. Even our previous managers who had a wee bit of a personality (I think we’ve had a couple ) I wouldn’t have dreamt of sitting listening to their 10min presser. lovely to hear his resoluteness about how we don’t need to sell and his building of a better team and adding players. The guy is impeccable.

  4. It was a very clear message which will no doubt have zero impact on the OF stories that will continue to be rolled out multiple times a day until the window closes. Also a big thanks to Lennon Miller for providing us with a healthy GTF fund.

  5. Journo: How are Callum Hendry and Elliot Watt doing in their fitness battles? JBA: Well I think I described thoroughly last week where they were, and if you rewind a week and then go forward, then they are one week later.

  6. Hillarious response from JBA. “Concrete rumours and concrete speculation” 😂

  7. Thats how i took it as well. He's loyal & assuming the board dont break any trust then that will continue.

  8. Not for me, he was bang on, these fuds ask the same pathetic questions every week and one thing is I don't think he suffers fools gladly and quite right the Scottish media are full of shit stirring zoomers

  9. I thought it was very clever of Askou. Not only did his comments reassure us fans, they also sent a clear message to the Club Board. Promises made should be promises kept and the time to consider a sale is at season end.

  10. Must confess I don't normally watch any of the pre match press conferences but for some reason watched today's. The manager seemed very definite on the fact that no one was being sold this window...

  11. He isn't eligible as wasn't named in initial 25 man squad before league stage

  12. Bizzarre that Celtic dont apparently rate Welsh. His treatment will surely open eyes.

  13. Another really good press conference from Jens. He takes no nonsense from the journalists. Im sure someone more technie can post it up. Looks as if noone will leave, famous last words, and it push onwards and upwards to see what we can achieve. 1 center back, either Welsh back or A N other, plus an additional one perhaps. Would assume its a left back, but you never know.

  14. There is every chance he will be away in the summer. But the board have to at least try and keep the suitors at bay and try to tempt him to stay. It we would brilliant if he could steer us into Europe and still be here with the core of the team to have a good go at it. What more of a calling card could he sign for himself than taking a club like ours into the group stages? Given that the team is set up for playing in Europe it would be great to see. Even if he did decide to go, we would get a wee bit more compo if he is on a better contract.

  15. There is nothing clear online. Best information I could find was that he had signed a 2 year deal with talks to be opened on extensions should he hit certain targets. But its all a bit woolly worded. We did have a policy of 1 year rolling contracts. No idea if that would still be the case, although from the above possibly not. Pretty sure the board will be aware of how well this is going though and an extension for the manager on improved terms would be a priority. Wether Jens would be minded to sign it or not is another matter. Depends how he views what he is building here and what his long term goals are. Ive no doubt he is incredibly ambitious, but he also has the Gothenberg experience and will understand how playing the longer game could be beneficial. If he did in fact turn down the Aberdeen job, it might be a sign that he is happy to wait for the right offer. Improving your terms while you do so would be a no brainer for him as long as he rrusts the club to do the right thing when the time comes.

  16. Aye, I'm sure MON will be on the phone saying "what do you mean you reject my bid? I heard on a podcast you only wanted 3 million!"

  17. Absolutely raging at that Halliday on TJ and the only reason I can see is he's publicly low balled a valuation as the currants are interested. He has no right as a paid employee of the club to band about such pish. As for those staying oh it's still a lot of money, get a grip. You don't see other clubs drip feeding shite valuations of their players. Get that prick to fk out the club asap. Does he think noone on the press watches Open Goal?? There is no excuse to mention this. He can politely pass, but no he wants his puddle drinking mates to pick him up on the cheap. No ginger bottles allowed guys, sorry.

  18. The quicker we get shot of Halliday the better if I was a manager I would not be wanting my players sat actively celebrating other teams in our leagues goals don't care wither they are a fan or not and slating other teams players on their podcast. Now he's talking valuations of his own teams best players. It's a shame cos he seems like a good guy around the dressing room but his social media stuff draws unnecessary headlines for the club.
