  2. Im all for giving some game time to Whyte, Wells, and a few more young outfield players via some sub minutes but truly Connolly gives me the fear, not a fan, we need to progress here so Id play Poulson all day long. if we stick to our principles of possession control we should win and progress but please no Connolly!

  4. We are a good side and who knows stranger things have happened. The odds gave us a 10 to 20% chance. I'm not confident but I am proud that we've represtend ourselves well. Has a feeling of Dortmund all those years ago.

  6. Mine too. Steve Martin at the airport car hire desk must be one of the best rants in cinema history.

  7. It’s certainly starting to look like we’ve got another outstanding young manager and coach on our hands.

  8. I must admit that I have completely changed my view on AJ's media presence. I thought his first couple of interviews and his introductory speech to the players was a little underwhelming but he is completely owning his media interviews now. A mixture of intelligence, humour, approachability but at the same time clear in his own thoughts and beliefs. In a more subtle way, like JBA he does not suffer fools gladly. Overall his first few months have been hugely impressive under demanding circumstances. It is so refreshing not to have to listen to the ' these European games come too early ' rhetoric of Scottish managers past. Our wee club appears to have batted one out the park once again on managerial appointments. As Well fans it should give us great pride that we have shown that there is an alternative to the traditional Scottish football way. I think that the press/ media are responding favourably too. The BBC write up on Thursday nights game showed real affection for what is happening at Firpark. Happy days.

  9. I’d definitely like to see some of the youngsters get some game time at least. Did Connelly not play in some of the early cup games last season? Maybe it was the Scottish cup and it’s better to keep our no.1 in while the team settles but in AJ we trust so whatever he thinks is good for me.

  10. I'd certainly be starting the likes of Connelly, Wilson, Knight Lebel, Whyte and Vogt for this one.

  12. Alot of chat about resting players for this game. Last season the chat was how it appeared we did not take cup games seriously by playing weakened teams. We cant afford to take Stenny lightly they appear to have started their season well. Play our strongest team, win the game early if possible and then withdraw players for rest. Every game we play brings more understandings and relationships between players, which improves the team structure and unity. Something that improves our chances against an up comming top side.

  13. There is a feeling that something great is being built, but we need to realise that it is very early days and could easily be derailed. We all need to stick by the team when we inevitably hit a bump in the road. Undoubtedly, there is an upward trajectory and it feels great, but it'll be a bit of a rollercoaster as we, hopefully, build something memorable, long-lasting and ultimately successful.

  16. Hopefully we rest most of the starting 11 for Thursday. For me the league cup should be seen as an opportunity for the fringe players to get minutes. If it was the Scottish Cup I would feel differently but never really understood the attraction of the league cup and it should be even further down the priority list given the number of games we have played so far and may potentially be playing in the future.
