  1. Not sure about that as a midfield three.

  2. Should have been outta sight but still we salvaged a draw. Lets remember a few things. 1) lost a great manager and 5 first team regulars 2) have brought in 10 players spending a good amount of money and a manager I think is going to be a success. 3) we have had a heavy schedule plus a bad injury list. 4) trust me. I am really excited once everyone fit COYW

  3. So both pundits on Sportscene agree it’s a foul in the lead up to the 1st St Mirren goal. Both pundits agree the missed penalty should have been retaken. The fact that Clancy needed to see the handball on a tv despite having a great view in real time sums up how bad he was. The standard of officiating is at an all time low in Scotland but as usual it’ll be swept under the carpet as it’s not against Rangers or Celtic.

  4. Would have taken a point before the game and was more than happy with the point at the end of it...honestly, I dont think it can be underestimated how much these European matches take out of the players. Annoyed that we are playing midweek again to be honest. Once the season settles down to just playing mainly saturdays I think we will a real threat to most teams

  5. I dont see us doing any more business unless there are outgoings. The squad is pretty full and with the injuries starting to clear up we look in a fairly healthy place. All depends on what Alfreds view is on Stama & Eythor. Id expect he would want to give both a chance before shipping them out in January maybe? Obviously if JT goes that might free up a spot for another attacker to come in. My biggest hope is that we get through the window with Fadinger and Longelo still at the club.

  10. All the bedwetters are out on the MFC Facebook page with the usual drivel. Honestly, we were never going to be the same team as last year, but support the team and don`t fold when the chips are down.

  12. I think that just stems from Naysmith having him at Stenny last season. I may have inadvertently started this rumour with my Ayr United friends a few weeks ago before it was clear that there was a good chance Olly could be a first team player fornus this season. If we did let him go, it would be a step upnfor him from last season. But Im no longer certain he needs it, and Im not sure we would let him go now.

  13. Probably unpopular view but that Strip today is streets ahead of the home strip.

  15. Yes, you're right, I should have said handled deliberately/consciously . His arm was pushed up (foul) by the Celtic player and Sam headed the instantaneous deflection out for a shy. Whole thing stank, as you obviously agree, and we come to the eternal killer question: would MFC have been given a penalty at the other end in those circumstances? QED, I think.

  16. Nicholson did handle the ball. However, he didnt do it deliberately. He didnt make his body bigger. And he didnt gain an advantage as his hand was against his head, hence the onward direction of the ball. Also, the penalty wasnt given in real time and there was no definitive camera angle available to the referee that proved conclusively that he had handled it. So although he did handle it. It was still a shite decision!

  18. We were knackered after 30 mins and St Mirren took full advantage of that. Closing us down quickly and harassing us . The keeper was brilliant all game The way we pushed on for the last 10min to get the equilizer was heroic . It was obvious some were out on their feet after the last three weeks exploits . Good result but it should have been 4-0 early doors. Don't you just love a last minute goal.

  19. A lot of stuff to look at and learn from but at the end of the day there are three undefeated teams in the league Celtic, St. Mirren and us.

  21. Still can’t quite believe Clancy didn’t spot the Gogic penalty. Must be one of the worst misses I think I’ve ever seen from a referee. he was appalling all game…. Embarrassment of a ref.

  22. When he finally goes you will run out of material, that will be a double boost though for the club and the forum members. 😂

  24. Paulsen made 3 really great saves in the second half. Thought Fadinger was really good for the most part, but Lowry was excellent today, he is a difference maker with his vision and range if passing. All doubts over his workrate and mentality are in the bin.

  26. We saw a few of those players coming back today. So lots to look forward to. Feel sorry for SOD. That was a total mismatch today but he hung in there and done well after getting booked pretty quickly. Towards the end I’m not sure if our defenders learned from Freiburg or just couldn’t catch the St Mirren guy but well done om not pulling him down when he was thru and Paulsen saves it.

  27. I know they have the new rule about player goes off for a minute if they have treatment but I thought they still stayed on if yellow card was given to opponent who injured the player?? they got a yellow amd we had to play a man down for at least a minute. That makes no sense!!

  28. That was a worrying performance. It was very disjointed. Defensively I've not seen us that bad in a very long time. St.Mirren found it very easy to get in behind and the aerial threat couldn't be dealt with. They also had greater pace throughout the team. Maybe a bit of tiredness across the squad, possibly mentally as much as physically. Body language was poor from a few, suggesting that they didn't have the desire to push themselves when the chips were down. Great finish from Kanga to get his Well career off to a flyer. An important point to pick up. If that game had been lost, it may have taken a very large toll on confidence. Very happy to save a point.

  37. To be 2-0 up six minutes from half time and to go in 2-2 is a major failure. To go in 2-3 behind is completely unprofessional and incompetent.

  44. I'm happy for JT to stay and see how he develops under Alfred. It's easy to forget he's only 23. If a good offer comes in and he wants to move on, I'm OK with that too.

  46. Slattery playing for Wednesday in League One is a bit like MIka Biereth playing for us in the Premiership. He's too good for that level. Glad he's doing well and hopfeully he'll be in the Championship next season,

  47. Agree 100%. We now have a week to make final adjustments to the squad. AJ will now know his squad pretty well and should be well aware of where the shortcomings are. Falkirk, Stenny and Freiburg have been kind enough to help us in that regard. Some fine tuning required, not wholesale upheaval.

  48. Given the injuries, players changes and lack of proper training days we are probably ahead of where many expected at this point.
