  1. dont agree with this slaughtering of grimshaw. His so called headless chicken runs up the park are exactly that they get us up the park! his run other week v hibs set up hyltons goal and im sure he started the move on sat to pass to cole who then turned and created campbells goal. When players arent playing they somehow become better in some peoples eyes as they cant be judged. Tait is a better crosser of the ball than grimmy but not a better runner with the ball or as aggressive without it. I for one am more than happy with grimshaw at right back. !st goal on saturday was caused by our cdm (donnelly) being nowhere and gardyne able to run from halfwayline unapposed to our 18 yard box. If you are a cdm positional play is everything and he wasnt there. Saturday was a blip imo and reminded me of the times when we somehow managed to beat or draw with celtic from what i feel would be.. their perspective in that we were in control of the game but then some things went against us that will not happen every game i.e sending off which was debateable, bad substititions at wrong stage, good goal disallowed, penalty claim not given etc . Plus as a lot mention whenever we start believing we are favourites it in my experiences of being a well fan for 30 odd years usually goes wrong.
  2. ref was poor i know im biased they had a few not booked and as others said ikpeazu commited about 6 fouls and also a blatant push for their 1st. really enjoyed game today and young team up the back were brilliant. atmosphere was gd most of game. is europe on?
  3. campbell was relatively quiet 1st 20 when it was a bit of a war with fouls everywhere. then he made a good interception bombed through the middle and from then on was awesome. polworths passing doesnt get credit it deserves from some and i thought cole was good as well. fans were also gd today best away atmosphere for a wee bit i thought.
  4. i watched training for a bit last thursday and bevis was training.hes a big lad. hartley was sitting out so i thought he must be injured. dunne sat out last 15 min game so maybe him also. whoever thinks polworth should sit out needs their head looked at. hes the most creative midfielder we have easily and even at training he looked miles in front although campbell and donnelly were away for internationals.
  5. every game for dundee is tough so i wouldnt worry too much about that. i think its good signing as any time i saw him at dundee either v us or on tv v the glasgow 2 he stood out. im hoping barry maguire can come gd but if any of our 3 midfielders get injured i think he can come in for any of them.
  6. yes we would all love modric but who do you suggest within our budget and available. i personally dont know. Stephen mcginn at st mirren? i like him anytime i see him but cant think of many others.
  7. i agree with your view our midfield cannot and will not be able to deal with celtic midfield but to blame the manager for it is not right. donnelly is not a good enough footballer and whilst i like polworth he will struggle against good teams . gorrin is a massive loss and turnbull is obvious but we have no others.
  8. lol must have been a gd day in the sun. davy will be back and within a couple of games will be running the show as he was before.
  9. i know people are having a laugh with negativity but by fuk its boring!!! only saw last 30 mins and positives were polworth always wanting the ball and scotts hold up play seemed better. this season will be like near every other which is a struggle with the hope we can get a wee run of form at some stage hopefully in cups to excite us. keep the faith!!!
  10. how many do we think at linfield on Saturday? I know its more expensive than I thought it would be but just saw today an adult day return is £27 from Stranraer and that includes all day belfast bus ticket to get around which is a good deal. Im really looking forward to it and hopefully maybe 2-300 or is that wishful thinking?
  11. donnelly whilst done ok is not a midfielder imo. his passing is poor as was shown today. dm behind campbell and turnbull is most important position in team going forward. gorrin transformed team and obviously shown when not there. can polworth play there?
  12. easy! since we were going great we have lost gorrin.main and hastie from team and as saw today with gorrin out team turnbull was dropping deeper to get ball as mchugh cannot be expected to move the play left and right which lessened our attack and scott is nowhere near mains level of strength and holding ball ip to bring others in. disappointed with reactions to hastie but understand it as if i was young id be likely be doing same coz im older im more accepting of his situation an i wish him all luck in the world. i do feel however Robinson hung him out to dry. hopefully polworth can take over from gorrin as he looks away.
  13. mr happy obviously never happened in your house
  14. Fantastic. definitely going to this. think we will have a great away crowd
  15. yep i was a wee bit disappointed tonight. all this development talk that goes on . what about trying to win all the time. we were getting beat 2-0 and no change in formation takes danny johnson off and same type of play. semple has the look and confidence to be a player but was far too deep. the young num 8 looked most determined to me . but as everyone says they are only young. morrison of hearts was stand out easily
  16. Yes I totally agree we should always be looking to strengthen but you are saying whatifs? at this stage and with the players we have curtis main is performing well. and davy turnbull is imo the best we have had for a long time so the chances of us replacing him with a signing are non existent as the cost would be out our range and the only hope of bringing in a player of his level when he leaves will be from the youth team if there is anyone near his abilities which id likely doubt. Whilst hastie has burst on scene i feel there are a lot of wingers around the scottish leagues who could replace him and i think even within ours and other youth teams in scotland there will be someone similar. The doubts after we have took 22 points from 27 and 3 of those were away to celtic where lets also remember in 2nd half we actually done well.Anyway Im backing frear to replace hastie if he does decide to go which will not sit well with some but i like him and always feel he is looking to attack.
  17. disagree totally with this. the reason turnbull and hastie have all the goals is a lot of the time linked to the work curtis does occupying the opposition defenders. we are a team and we have won 7 drew 1 and lost 1 of our last 9 with mostly same 11 every week. Some of you must be fakn mental to want change. I think we can beat anyone with that 11 and curtis is a huge part of how we play
  18. yep i was listening to this driving home and said to my sons.what a lot of pish that is. davy turnbull could attempt anything and no negativity from us well fans at the moment anyway lol
  19. yep agree with mcallister comparisons. he doest look fast on the ball but theres no doubt he is as opposition cant get near him. his thought process already at 19 is in front of anyone else on same pitch as him last 5 games. Last night he done i think 3 little flicks over defenders heads .when was the last time or ever a Well player has done that. top talent and along with hastie has us excited. biggest 2 youth prospects and on same level at this age as mcfadden i feel. hope they go on to be as good as him for us and themselves.
  20. yabezzer you are unsure or want rid off mchugh which yes he can be liability and football ability not best but he can organise and wins balls. frear our best player v accies at xmas time and threat from bench every time hes on. main without doubt is pivotal to our play with 2 wingers.he runs himself into ground and holds ball up every game. as ive said many times if he scored more he would be elsewhere. grimshaw whilst not greatest 1 on 1 defender his running is great and exciting and i cannot understand doubts gorrin has been one of catalysts for recent upsurge through always being available and able to go left or right with his switches of play cadden will play wherever he has to and as seen before his injury he was immense at right back. he could also play in campbell or turnbulls position and whilst he cannot tackle like 1 or as inventive as other his runs provide another option in those roles. So in short I would definitely want all 6. our recent play with our 2 wingers is fantastic so robinson deserves huge praise as this was not a formation forced on him with injuries. he put some big experienced players out team and replaced them with youngsters and new formation.
  21. im sure its a 433 and gorrin suits our style just fine.
  22. i get the criticism of mains lack of goals but his workrate is outstanding. Due to this he occupied their 2 cbs which gave arriyibi and hastie room. I think we need to be careful what we wish for and if he could finish then he wouldnt be at us as he does loads more. 3 footballers in midfield enabled us to also get balls to wingers and i loved it at end when we were trying to see out game we were passing it about rather than just butting up the park. Only disappointment brought on by last night is how we could not have done that on Saturday as im still raging with that. grimshaws run. arriyibi and hastie attacking full backs.gorrin and turnbulls composure on ball.campbells tenacity. meant loads to be excited about but ultimately we have nothing to play for now i feel.
  23. noticed this also and i think was down to last 25 mins where we accepted defeat. so disappointed.
  24. cmon if you think ross mccormack didnt put pressure on manager to play then you are wrong. hes went for total transfers of 24 million pounds and seemingly on 40k a week at villa.
