I dont see how Polworth can split opinion he has been outstanding. He is a poor mans kevin de bruyne and I mean that as a huge compliment too him. Its some typical scottish football fans that think he cant tackle and gets pushed around easily but not only is his passing excellent his work rate is too. My player of the year so far ahead of even gallagher as if he wasnt there id worry about us getting many chances a game to score.

i saw erwin on highlights at wknd and he has lost weight and whilst didnt score i thought he looked gd. i would like to see him back as he was imo destined for great things before going to leeds and then thinking he had made it and acting and looking like an idiot. Hes still only just turned 25 and id imagine still has lots of pals at fp and obviously family in local area. might work might not but is he any greater risk than who we normally go for?

Yep i agree ya bezzer. Campbell whilst one of our own looking poor for a bit when we are off it . However a huge decision today was our managers by going 352 when we were winning. Yes accies were pressing us at that time but we were still winning and i thought if we weathered that storm we would go on from there. Easy in hindsight i know but trying to console myself with we are still 3rd. ps both accies full backs mcgowan and mcmann looked good and worth a look from our scouting department.

1st away we have missed this season due to obvious reasons and wish we were there for celebrations at end that ive saw . So chuffed for all the fans that went up there today and the players obviously responded. Looking forward now to the derby. COYW

What I see as the problem if there is one is that we have just now 5 fighting for 3 positions with not one of them guaranteed a place. This makes them greedier than normal for goals hence the stupid attempts every week and also when they are on pitch ala long today touching in a ball on the line. But we are 3rd on merit. It also showed today the difference polworth makes with his passing ability as before he was on whilst we had most of ball our midfied 3 tgen do not have polworths vision or awareness. Think ohara needs to be a defensive mid as he won a lot of balls in that role wgen he went there.

Big Bevis is faster and physically bigger and can also recover better than hartley but his positional play or organisational skills are nowhere near hartleys. Bevis i feel would also be so much better on right of defence as he looks dodgy anytime balls on his left side but i understand robinson not wanting to move gallagher from his usual spot. Hindsight is great but I like others felt hartley would have been better on sunday as he is also so bloody determined which i felt we missed a bit.

The main difference today was our players did not get as much time on ball as against weaker teams they were always snapping into tackles quickly and their 2 widemen came into midfield to create a 4 against our 3. we got totally overan in midfield. like any game goals change them and after longs great run and cutback in 1st half i felt we dropped out it. 2nd half nit much in it till their 2nd then their experience closed game out. When turnbull is back i think we will play a diamond with a winger sacrificed and this will improve us against top teams.
-
we went 352 then to combat their strikers which i thought was great move. fantastic we can play different formations to win games.
-
our 3 looked not so gd today as hearts played a 3 6 1 with a midfield 4 of walker whelan meshino clare against our 3 but that also meant they had no one up front . game was really tight but hyltons ability and a superb long finish was our reward. every game is give and take tactically where we give up 1 area of pitch to take advantage in others as seen today. we are 3rd in league and more to come. lets enjoy it

totally agree. our midfield won us game tonight. they were up for it until we scored and game was even until then. when donnelly started getting more of ball and polworths pass for 2nd is what he does. campbell was supporting forwards as ever. this we were crap on saturday and tonight till we scored is a lot of crap imo. as i have said many times on here there is nothing between most teams hence the start of last 2 games. there is no way we will dominate a team for 90 mins even celtic who have won every trophy for last 3 years dont do it. last 2 games 7-0 aggregate hope it continues!

he has 10 assists it said on radio today. if you think thats not gd enough then i dont know what you want. boys a player

Im sure (hoping) we and robinson have learned from last year v ross county when i and others had most despondent feeling in ages. I look forward to a big away crowd and same result as in 2011ish? when jamie murphy ran riot after a drive through the snow to get there. My youngest 1st scottish away day if i remember when he was 6. COYW.

As everyone said we lost 2 bad goals 1st half however we had plenty time to remedy it which in the 2nd half we totally dominated them with attack after attack but not enough quality from 30 yards out. When ohara came on for maguire i thought he would be making runs to support our strikers but he was sat back then scott for campbell i feel was bad move as our 3 midfield wer in control then we only had 1 of them on pitch. We lost the 3rd to a predictable counter attack. We badly need a big number 9 as cole and long do most of their best work outside the box. We are not far away but lack of goal threat when we are chasing games and teams sit in against us will be our downfall i think. We also missed donnelly today as im sure he would have had some shots from outside box today as we had lot of ball there.

I think the view that polworth is lightweight is unjustified. Watch him and in duels his determination shows through. Because he is at this time our most creative player and is a bit skinny people say he is lightweight but i dont get it and feel it is a lazy assumption. I have been at dalszell park a few times watching training and he has always been the best player in the games. Anyone who thinks he should be dropped is imo missing his abilities. Hibs are there for the taking as I honestly believe they could go down as their squad is not good and if they do not get going soon their fans will put so much pressure on the players i dont think they will be able to cope. 2-0 to us.
-
I personally cant see him going to either hibs or hearts as best he could do would be 3rd and if he did it would be expected and if he didnt then he would be be a failure. He can imo get 3rd with us with less pressure and not a failure if he doesnt. I know the wages there would be a lot more but I feel too much of a risk for him as if he goes there and fails then he will forever only be at clubs like ourselves and oldham. Get us 3rd and he would have i believe pick of a few english championship teams with obviously then an opportunity to get promoted to premier league and all that brings. Also if he goes to english championship and fails as has been seen with loads of previous managers he would still most likely get a decent job back up here.

Do not agree that they were better team by far after their goal. Also we were better team before sending off and whilst he may have touched ball first he then took long out so correct decision. Their goal was poor defending from hylton who should have shown thomas down wing onto his right foot. The goal was one of those that happen and no blame on gillespie at all. That not only killed the players confidence for a bit but for rest of 1st half the fans or some were very nervous and moaning and groaning all because if a team has 10 men the other team think they should be winning easy but it doesnt happen that way. Rest of 1st half they were comfortable. Start of 2nd half was good and a great cross and jump from cole for goal. We should have killed it off with other chances and was a penalty from campbells missed sitter. Just before their last minute efforts we had a 4 on 1 breakaway which scott hit straight at keeper and they broke up park where gillespie had an outstanding save. All in all very happy with 3 points and also happy that we are complaining when 3rd in table. We have now played everyone and other than Celtic for an hour I feel we have competed well. Aberdeen didnt play us off park but were very professional. Dont want to get too far ahead but Europe is on!

Dissapointed with the whining on here! I for one and am sure plenty others at the game thought we done ok today but i am hugely frustrated as we definitely deserved at least a point. I also cant believe no one mentioning foul on donnelly for their 1st goal. yes it was a coming together but donnelly was in front going for ball when collision happened so its a definite foul and if we went in at ht in lead the game might have been different. I was not overly concerned with them eatching today as whilst davis had a lot of ball 2nd half i cant remember gillespie having many saves to make. it was a tight game and typical spfl that could have went either way. we can challenge for euro places no doubt. Also young team brilliant again today.Well done lads!

im with you melvin. the front 2 would also be told to match the runs of their full backs leaving their least dangerous players imo the 2 cbs with the ball. This formation would match them up in midfield and on wings and give us more security in middle of defense. If we can hold it at 0 0 for a bit they will get frustrated and hopefully a breakaway in behind one of their fullbacks who is high up the pitch will produce a goal. im always optimistic lol. Hope they get pumped tonight and celtic win their game on sat which again puts more doubts in their minds .as others have said we have a terrible record against them other than when it really mattered of course ! Their not all our arse licking media make them out to be so heres hoping.

at aberdeens 1st goal on saturday when we were down to 10 men tait was away up the park supporting attack when if he had been in line with his central defenders the pass into inside left channel would not have been as easy. Our full backs get caught out attacking at wrong times. Tait was also out position at celtics 1st i think with grimshaw out position at ross county. Saturday was really disappointing due to fact we were down to 10 men and someone should have been saying right lets hold the ball till we are back to 11. We are all being a bit too harsh i feel on everyone as saturday and ross county were both imo decided by lack of experience which you only get by playing. Maguire still has loads to learn obviously and although campbell has played lots of games now trying to hold the ball in the position he was in on saturday was crazy. also gallagher should never have passed to him. The 3rd goal was a great strike and 9 times out of 10 i would fancy gillespie not getting beat from that distance. Charles dunne at left back is most solid option for us defensively as hes not as keen to charge up the park but unfortunately he will not be for a while due to injury. Because our midfield is imo lightweight and we play with 2 wingers i feel we need 2 defenders at full back rather than the ones we have which primarily want to attack
-
wont matter who but someone will have to! he will be back and him polworth and campbell would be amazing. I honestly think polworth could be our defensive mid as his passing and vision is outstanding. I know he isnt 6ft and wins headers but today his determination to chase down balls out wide went un noticed by most id imagine. He would run the game in that position with campbell doing same as ever with turnbulls goal and assists. Yes i am excited.
-
1st half we were really gd and should have had more than 1. 2nd half we again had most of chances but they could have also equalised. league is so tight and most games will be won by team least nervous. polworth and campbell were outstanding and only downside was why robinson took off scott and seedorf when they both looked dangerous. cole done nothing of note and by taking off scott i felt could ruin confidence after what was obviously a great goal. I watched scott walk to dugout and robinson never even said anything to him. maybe im being harsh but a wee pat on back would have been deserved
-
Was poor game but we were better in 1st half with misses from cole.gallagher header. 2nd half was even but from our view which was 80 yards away lol their penalty was soft bu great save from gillespie then another from may i think plus davidson missed a sitter for them. so imo we were fortunate to get 3 points but last week we got none and controlled most of the game. as the saying goes its a funny old game. Also again well done young team up back they literally sang all game and whilst not same numbers as at tynecastle 2 weeks ago they kept goinh.
-
I dont think they had 1 booked and ralston commited 3 fouls in 2nd half in front of our fans. referee was poor
-
dont agree with this slaughtering of grimshaw. His so called headless chicken runs up the park are exactly that they get us up the park! his run other week v hibs set up hyltons goal and im sure he started the move on sat to pass to cole who then turned and created campbells goal. When players arent playing they somehow become better in some peoples eyes as they cant be judged. Tait is a better crosser of the ball than grimmy but not a better runner with the ball or as aggressive without it. I for one am more than happy with grimshaw at right back. !st goal on saturday was caused by our cdm (donnelly) being nowhere and gardyne able to run from halfwayline unapposed to our 18 yard box. If you are a cdm positional play is everything and he wasnt there. Saturday was a blip imo and reminded me of the times when we somehow managed to beat or draw with celtic from what i feel would be.. their perspective in that we were in control of the game but then some things went against us that will not happen every game i.e sending off which was debateable, bad substititions at wrong stage, good goal disallowed, penalty claim not given etc . Plus as a lot mention whenever we start believing we are favourites it in my experiences of being a well fan for 30 odd years usually goes wrong.

ref was poor i know im biased they had a few not booked and as others said ikpeazu commited about 6 fouls and also a blatant push for their 1st. really enjoyed game today and young team up the back were brilliant. atmosphere was gd most of game. is europe on?
