  1. That is the answer bobby. They have other cameras and an offside decision is really black and white with the lines added so there is no debate. Morris foul is debatable as down to refs perception. Throw in incident again is no debate and if he wasn't on park throw-in to celtic if he was free kick to us. It seems as if people on here are trying to say some for us some against but that's only case with Morris foul other 2 are quite simple in they were spotted and referee/var applies rules . Anyone get good view on bevis injury?
  2. They checked it so they either don't know rules or its cheating. Seems as if we are whining but is their any other explanation.
  3. Bobby are u at wind up? Play at free kick if player is not 10 yards back gets taken again and defender usually gets booked. Same rules at throw ins if less than 2 yards
  4. Celtic player should have been booked and us awarded free kick.
  5. An opponent who unfairly distracts or impedes the thrower (including moving closer than 2 m (2 yds) to the place where the throw-in is to be taken) is cautioned for unsporting behaviour and if the throw-in has been taken an indirect free kick is awarded.
  6. Cornelius is certainly improving in the eyes of most on here by not playing . I thought hammell would obviously know him well and play him more but he obviously thinks others are better going by the minutes he's been on park. I think tomorrow he will stick with same formation i. 4231/433 and if he does then I'd have Kelly Mcginn/SOD sol lamie penny Slattery goss Cornelius kvv spittal Moult Not a lot of pace but we need to track their full backs as well as provide support for our fullbacks and Dean and Blair will provide that better than our other forward players I feel. Kvv and moult were swapping times at going back to defend on Sunday as well as being our main goal threats so I hope it can work. Spittal gets a bit of stick but he's had 2 goals and 3 assists in 13 games which isn't too bad I feel. Hoping for the best but fearing the worst as ever with these fkrs
  7. Exactly. The thing is we actually have allies in the media in craigan and mcfadden and Gordon Duncan etc so we should be using it to our advantage. Celtic requested an explanation after hearts game last week regarding decisions why can't we? Is it because of cost maybe. Celtic and rangers and maybe hearts hibs aberdeen won't bother about 10k for instance in a fine but I'm sure we would and that I think is likely reason
  8. A big thing with VAR is I thought any big decision in box gets looked at? It seems to be case in England and if so why was Goss not looked at? On another point Robbie Neilson was on radio after game slaughtering referee for their sending off and said that the ref told him it was for a high and dangerous tackle which he disagreed with. As well as saying Gordon got a touch of ball at moult penalty so decision was wrong. This was great management on his part I feel as all the talk and discussion was on how Hearts were harshly treated and not on our contentious decisions. Also if Neilson got an explanation I would have hoped and expected that Hammell asked him questions regarding our decisions and got an answer. Still raging this morning and as others said on this forum before VAR came in that our refs will still fck it up which at the time I disagreed with I now see it is going to be that way. We can only hope it is teething problems but more explanation is needed from the referees as every week now the chat on all forums is mostly about VAR which is wrong.
  9. Think your wrong there the rules are yellow card awarded if : denies an opponent an obvious goal-scoring opportunity by an offence which was an attempt to play the ball and the referee awards a penalty kick So on that basis I'm sure we all agree it was an obvious goalscoring opportunity. if he didn't attempt to play ball then a red card. We can all see problems within our team but this whole thing that the ref didn't affect game today is wrong it's not excuses it's factual . I was disappointed hammell didn't call it out more after game but I understand why he didn't due to fines and suspension maybe. Var is there to see if anything is missed and for most part gets it right. What I feel is happening now is ref wants var to make big decisions and var guys in studio or wherever they are want ref to make them leaving both not knowing who's in charge. Big decisions today were Gordon 2nd yellow? nothing to do with var. Clancy didn't want/scared to put them down to 9 men which is rules as stated above. Bad refereeing Offside with goss? I was adamant at time he ran from deep and as we see in England if linesman are unsure they leave flag down. Not here and so var can't do anything. Bad linesman call Sibbick hand ball penalty? Impossible to tell at game but he is on goalline nearly and even if hand is near body if it hits his hand should be penalty . Unsure on this and they didn't show it on Sportscene. Just gutted today as I honestly feel we were cheated. Refs can make wrong decisions and I have no problem with that but clancy just never applied the rules which I am sure he was aware of.
  10. That is exactly why there's as much debate yabba. Loads don't know the rules. I'm a big believer in if refs came out and explained any big decision in a game or even the head of referees came out after game and explained why certain decisions were given then it would clear a lot up. Pundits quite clearly don't know rules and it creates untold problems for referees in their next games.
  11. Disagree with that now. Efford is looking dangerous and flashed a few ball across box and on another day one would have resulted in goal. Today we were well on top and efford contributed to that. The team selection was good and carried on from Thursday. Let's enjoy the fact we were clearly well on top for the 1st time in I don't know how long. Also serious question where does your confidence in aarons and mckinstry come from? They do not look any better than efford for me although had less time obviously.
  12. Just took grizzlyg word for it but off top of my head. His shot off bar rebounded to van veen at aberdeen. His shot won penalty at St mirren. And his pass v killie. Thats 3 in my book and I wouldn't consider myself a fan boy unfortunately .
  13. Good point grizzly , spittals stats suggested this would be the case I felt and I'm glad it is. I also felt some on here were talking him down for no apparent reason other than ignorance of his stats and ability. Aarons is a big risk due to his lack of gametime certainly but my hope is he can produce what he done in 2nd half of st mirren 4-4 Cup replay when he was outstanding and created umpteen chances and scored. That's my recollection of him as well as untied boots which does my head in for some reason.
  14. I agree he is not campbell level and I have been disappointed he has not progressed as well as likely himself was hoping for. I do feel there is a player in there somewhere but I can't fathom out his best position. Too slow in midfield. Not physical enough for centre back. Usually when that happens last hope is fullback but we have 2 international caps in squad so I feel he will most likely be a squad player which I would be happy enough with as he seems a good pro. As for a lot of support because he's an academy kid. I get that and so we should give our own a bit more leeway. Cornelius gets away with more than others too as will mckinstry and others that get brought into team also
  15. After 1st 25 mins which we just shaded killie were good value at least a point. However we had good chances with 3 breakaways that should have scored at least 1 goal at important stages of game. I felt their midfied totally bossed ours and they had power.polworth and mcinroy who are not exactly world-beaters. Maybe with better wide players to pass to they will get better but the aberdeen performance might have been a one off. Hope not. Good crowd and atmosphere yesterday 1st half and we again missed a trick to build on that but was pleasing at end no negativity. Win on Wednesday night and we go into next week v dun utd again with our tails up. Some new signings will also provide a lift for fans and team mates alike
  16. I fully agree with this. It winds me up that the pundits and ex pros always give it the "good foul to give away" patter when they stop a breakaway but they then say if a player "dives" in the box it is not something you want to see etc etc. Both scenarios are professional players doing all they can to win game but both should be treated the same . The hypocrisy in football is unbelievable.
  17. All this positivity is great. I've went full circle nearly in a week and no doubt it will continue through season I'd imagine. A big sorry huge thing now is the guaranteed group stage for 3rd place/sc winner that guarantees £3m plus additional for points gained gate receipt etc. I know our European days have been horrendous but group stage cash would be amazing for us. If you look at contenders we can certainly be in there and although hearts are miles better they will have 8 games minimum in Europe so that will I'd imagine hinder them. Aberdeen are no better than last year neither are hibs I don't think although dundee utd I feel are. Us st mirren livi are similar then I feel ross count st j and killie are lower down. Someone like snodgrass a new cb and striker and why not. Positivity goes a long way and here's hoping it continues. Saturday is again a gd marker
  18. Mcfadden talking scottish football on skysports there and 1st team walking out going to training. Mckinstry walked out in full training gear next to cornelius and devine I think it was. Excited to see this boy I have family who are leeds fans and go to their u23 games and say he is one of best on park regularly. Plays mostly of left but played all across their midfied with gd feet and not scared to dribble or shoot.
  19. Bloody hell!!! I seriously cannot believe that performance. Well done all the players and Stevie hammell and Brian kerr. There was a bit of confidence today and the negativity is away. Let it continue and I can't wait for next week already. Joe Efford runs at end. Goss with his passing. cornlius energy. slattery pass and move.2 fullbacks supporting. I could go on Dumbfounded but happy as larry
  20. Last week I said on another thread how I thought dun utd had assembled a gd squad with experience. Youth and some foreign players. Shows what I know lol and also on paper means nothing. A scary thing however as I watched it I said to my son that other than Kelly I don't think any of our players would get in their team. Importance of a good keeper was shown last night as big siegrist would have stopped 3 of those 5 in 1st half as would kelly I'm sure. Irs another debate but last night I feel highlighted how poor our league is other than top 2 and also that we need to make league bigger. All teams other than top 2 are so defensive, boring, timewasters and so scared to lose they actually forget or don't know how to attack. If any of our teams ever go 2 or 3 up that's it they just st back where AZ last night were a joy to watch with their movement and player ability on ball. Big sigh. Anyway Hammell I feel will be ok and I am tad disappointed with reaction of some on here but thats what forums are for.

    Alexander.

I was like nearly all wanting change and your 1st point on being inflexible was apparent since before start of last season . Whilst we can all see loads of faults in general football terms regarding our teams performance what we need to remember is Alexander seen those players and worked with those players every day. A guy who had more than 1000 appearances in England mostly in top 2 divisions, 50 international caps and few hundred in management . I'm sure he knows more about football than even our residential guardiolas on here. This is maybe why he had to play the way we did as if we tried a different way then he knew we would be nowhere. I am now in that camp as I just do not see anyone in midfield or upfront who I think looks competent at spfl level. Competitive maybe but ability to control and pass a football or take a player on, I just don't see it. So in summary I actually don't think we were harsh in our criticism of players other than some of the personal name calling at games and on here which is embarrassing. If we don't sign at least 1 each of midfielder striker winger and centreback who are better than we have then a long season ahead.
  22. just the players and style of their squad yorkyred. I am more than happy with way business side of club is run. We get a lot of plaudits for a lot of non football stuff from other fans and I am in agreement. Our players though is a different matter and the recruitment up to now for last few years has other than kelly, watt (who was a bit lucky) been poor imv with too many lower league english players. I dont think that stevie hammell would use that market as much.
  23. Im with you and whilst he may be a good coach ( i dont know) he has only done as you say which is not a great cv and also imo is like a load of OF ex players who sook up their arse at any opportunity. Just read derek mcinness interview there about kilmarnock game v rangers tomorrow and my god its nauseating for me never mind how a kilmarnock fan must feel. Im now warming more to the idea of hammell due to his work with youths, his loyalty shown to us over the years and also he seems to be a likeable guy with an affection for the players that was shown albeit only once last sunday . This may not suit some who say he's not best man for job due to inexperience but everyone starts somewhere. A left field appointment which we have done over the years would also sit ok but like others im getting a bit fed up of us signing majority from lower english leagues and getting maybe 1 in 5 right or even less Last nights dundee utd team is a template of where i feel/wishwe should be headed and yes we cant compete with them financially but have signed similar in past like ex scotland experienced internationals mulgrew/fletcher see faddy, pearson, mcmanus to help with their youth coming through that they have a lot as well as spfl experience in edwards, sibbald, watt see lasley hammel craigan etc then they are signing some good young players from bigger clubs teams like levitt, middleton see randolph, mccormack etc. Yes they may have pushed boat out and it could all come crashing down and I am not suggesting we break the bank but its a template similar to that we have used in past and it works.

    Alexander.

Great Post Dennyc and your point on odonnell is my view also. For other poster to say dropped because he was shit is actually laughable and whilst yes he had poor games he was and is still the best full back in squad and Alexander definitely had a fall out with him. This did happen . Odonnell is from our area and I'm sure there are some on here that know him or his family or friends and this is why it's easy to confirm.
