Agreed as always the club are cashing in on the large support the ugly sisters bring to Fir Park, at the expense of the home fans as they need to charge the same price. Clubs should be encouraging fans to attend matches, charging £34 a ticket is not the way to do it, a ticket, pie and bovril and you are already nearly £42 down.

As far as i am aware its a beer garden with little or no shelter/ cover. In Scotland it will be lucky to be open on matchdays given the weather we have.

STV news reporting that JBA has confirmed bids have been received for Miller but no further details, I can't see him starting against Rangers.

I assume its located on the spare ground at the unfinished end of the POD stand, if it is there is a distinct lack of signage.

A fair bit of online chat re Bologna and Udinese, but nothing to suggest an actual bid has been received. If he starts against Rangers then I would say the club has not received any genuine / acceptable bids, if hes not in the squad then that would suggest a move may be forthcoming, time will tell.

A home tie would have been better but considering the other teams we could have drawn, away to StJ is a decent draw. I only hope we perform a lot better than our last cup tie in Perth.

I've supported Motherwell a long time we are never that lucky in cup draws, but any of those 3 would be a result.

Other results today are not going for us, so its very unlikely we are going to be one of the 3 best group winners and be seeded. So away at one of the Premiership clubs in the last 16 is looming.

I thought setting off pyros and bringing them into a football match was against the law, club operating rules and regulations etc but now we have the stewards standing watching organised displays ffs.

They ifinished 11th in Bundeslig 2 last season so not a top German side but still a step up in class from what we will face most weeks in the premiership, so a very good test and result tonight.

We played some good football tonight, effective high press, playing out from the back looking like we actually knew how to do it, still had the odd defensive error especially when the ball was played over the top and direct, but all in a very good performance. If we can get a decent striker, and a central defender in this transfer window I think we will do well.

We have played some decent football tonight, the high press has been effective, we are actually playing out from the back effectively instead of hoofing it forward, but its the old issue we are toothless up front, Stamatelopoulos has been anonymous. I hope JBA has another striker lined up, as we can't start the season with what we have now.

I agree, if the stories are true, as I've posted earlier I've never been convinced there's a player in him, he just looks disinterested most of the time he plays. It would potentially be a great profit but only if we had a replacement lined up as our striking options are zero at the moment

If you want to be entertained go to the theatre, cinema etc not to a football match. What would you class as entertaining football, scoring 4 or 5 goals every game, Barcelona style tipy tappy boring as feck 59 pass moves, blood and snotters hoofball with everyone chasing the ball etc. If your team wins the vast majority of fans go home happy, the game might have been a total shitfest but if it results in 3 points nobody gives a feck. Supporting a team like Motherwell is a tough ask, we don't win every week, win a trophy every year, compete in the fantasy world that is the Euro group stages etc. But having watched Motherwell since 1970, winning a league title, Scottish cup, various Euro adventures, champions league and being a Premiership team for our 40th year now its gave me a lot of entertainment and great memories that greatly outnumber the bad experiences so I think we do OK.

Totally agree, as ever when playing the ugly sisters anything you get is a bonus, so 1st league game of the season, let's just get in their faces from the off, play our new high tempo style and see what reward it brings.

If we are judging him against Maswanhise no, Stamatelopoulos even thought i not fully convinced by him, again no, Robinson if ever he gets fit, maybe yes but the bars not high on that comparison. For me Bair was a hoof it forward and I'll chase it type of player with questionable positional sense, so given the style JBA wants us playing hes not what we need.
