  1. Any game the team plays should be competetive...so the more match practice they get before the 9th of August the better. Who knows if we had played a few more games and been that bit sharper and fitter then we might still be in Europe.
  2. Its down to money i think, the lower levels of the English league, ie League 1, 2 and even some of the conference teams can offer players a lot more money than whats on offer at Motherwell, so we have to work with what we can afford. There may still be hidden gems out there like Randolph but i think they are few and far between. I have to agree though Twardzik, did look a bit vulnerable last night, but its early days so i will reserve judgement for a while, unless Nielsen is not fully fit SMC must see Twardzik as the better option, which given some of Nielsens performances last term is hardly surprising.
  3. Losing a 2 goal lead was bad tonight, we were crusing and gave them an easy way in to the game...then we were very poor for the rest of the game, 2nd to every ball and did nor look fit. I know Stjarnan are well into their season but they are part timers FFS we should have had that tie over by half time. You cant legislate for 2 pen awards but they did look pretty clear cut. Still its 2-2 at half time so the game is there for the winning, so i expect us to get a result up there.
  4. Dont know if he could turn in another 20 + goals season but might be worth a years deal.
  5. And will do feck all for them, he is a waste of talent...had the potential to be a top class player but never used it.
  6. You might be correct there, he started off with Celtic boys club before he went to Rangers. Just higlights the fact why i hope that mob dont get back to the top league, giving abuse to players not for their lack of football skills but based on what school they went to, feckin morons
  7. He would be a great signing but i think his wage demands will be out of our league, he will end up back with Sally and the blue ugly sister.
  8. As much as that may be true i hope they dont get out of the championship, another financial crisis and a terminal liquidation for them this time would be my preferred option. The SPFL is a happier and nicer place without them and all the shite they bring with them,
  9. If the Icelandic team get through we play them there on th 24th..and Celtic are due in Iceland on the 22nd or 23rd so yes we are potentially there at the same time. However reports on the BBC say Celtic are in talks to move the game.so it may not happen.but i cant do Iceland so hoping for Bangor
  10. Never got to Wales the last time so hopefully Bangor will get through, and pleased the Home leg is 1st makes getting the time off for the away leg easier.
  11. Great move for him hope he does well.
  12. Aberdeen are allegedly interested in Boyd so money will talk...as i suspect they can offer him a better deal than us. But have to agree he would be a good signing
  13. Cant get time off work for a 3 or 4 day adventure so Wales or Ireland would do me nicely
  14. Any wage he may be offered from us is better than whats he is on now ie feck all..but i really hope we dont sign him he is an arse a billy big boots who got found out big time at Blackburn. Another member for the wasted talent club to join, Riordan, O'Connor, etc
  15. £20 sent via pay pal this morning.
  16. Good bit of business signing Reid, i think he will do well, no mucking about with signings this season it seems, getting our deals done early
  17. You are right Dave, for a "wee diddy club" as some refer to us we do ok, and so far the Football armageddon predicted after Rangers died has not happened. We seem to be living within our means, a bit hand to mouth at times but we are getting there. I can only hope that the new general manager and the board can unearth some other revenue streams / income to give us a bit of leeway if the Well society is not going to hit it's target.
  18. Selling the naming rights to Fir Park for a few years is a great idea as long as it was for a decent wedge of cash. Nobody would care what it was called as they would still refer to it as Fir Park so easy money for the club. Thats the kind of extra income streams the club should be exploring,
  19. Skippy Sunday, best day out at Fir park in a long time, the sight of their greetin faces was worth the ticket money alone, a good old fashioned GITRUY moment
  20. Agree with this, given our average fan base i always thought that the targets set by the WS were a bit ambitious, i think that everybody who can afford to and wants to join has already done so. I think it's now up to the board and / or WS to try to seek some external investment into the club, maximise current revenue streams, and generally try to live within our means. They have done well in recent seasons to try to keep the player budget as high as it can be and this has been rewarded by consecutive runners up spots, European football etc. Fan / community ownership is a great idea but for a club of our size and limited fan base, i dont think it is viable.
  21. Bangor city in Wales for me..easy to get to, big travelling support, nice easy starter.
  22. Wonder when the rumours linking him with Sevco will start,
  23. Not for me, he is no better than what we have just now, so would add nothing to the team.
  24. As we are seeded for Q2, does anybody know if we will be at home for the 1st or 2nd leg, or do we have to wait for the draw , trying to sort out some time off work ?
