  1. Agree with this as good as it was at the time its been 25 years FFS remember it yes but no need for special events, dinners etc. Do people really want to spend their hard earned cash listening to stories from long retired footballers i think not.
  2. Now that there is no chance of qualfying for Europe we are certain to finish 4th so going for a win for the good guys to keep the good form going.
  3. 1st game was a long time ago, Texaco cup v Spurs November 1970 i think, went with my grandpa all i remember about the game is that we won and how good the pie and Bovril was after that i was hooked. Could have all turned out different as my dad was a Rangers fan and had been going to take me for ages so grandpa got in first and steered me away from the dark side.
  4. Not that it matters now but nobody would have been doing it on our behalf the rules are in place to allow the 4th place league finishers entry to Europe if the cup winning team has already qualified via other means. So a team needs to have played sufficiently well over the season to have earned a 4th place finish to be able to take advantage of the rules in place. The same situation arose when we made our champions league debut, we earned a 3rd place finish that year and benefited accordingly.
  5. Rangers will be linked with every available player in the world over the summer.
  6. By nobody else i meant ready to step up and do a job in the 1st team now. If we have developing talent that may or may not make the grade in a few years then we will need to wait and see. But ideally we want our home grown talent to be ready for next season in August possibly June if we are in Europe so are there any more ready to join Cadden, Thomas and Hall to give McGhee more options, based on this seasons evidence i think there may not be, hope im wrong though.
  7. The talent has to be there to develop in the 1st place. McGhee, Craigan etc see these guys day in day out so we may have a development squad with very few players ready and/or capable of stepping up, so far we have Cadden, Thomas and Hall who have made an impression on the 1st team but nobody else.
  8. Thats just selfish because you live in Inverness
  9. I think 3 wins from last 5 should see us secure 4th maybe 2 and a draw, we should be capable of beating StJ and Ross county but to be honest all of the other 5 are beatable. If we keep our recent form going then 4th is a very real target which given where we were in January would be a fantastic achievement even without the added bonus of a Europa league place.
  10. Ripley for me the mistake for the 2nd goal apart he had an outstanding game kept us in it as the game could have been out of sight at half time.
  11. perfect set of results in the other games today no relegation this season then Europe here we come

I assume you were being sarcastic but still not appropriate or funny to make a comment like that
  13. We have already beaten them on their own midden this season so no reason why we cant do it again, i agree with haggis there is nothing to fear in that team, so lets get right into them from the start.
  14. If we beat ICT then we are pretty much assured of a top 6 finish however if we win and Ross county and Killie do the same then its guaranteed.
  15. In my opinion as a non member of the WS i think that one of the fundamental problems people have with the WS is thats its perceived as a disorganised shambles re communication, admin, attracting new members etc etc so this may put them off joining. This is not some ad hoc initiative by the club that could be run by volunteers the WS will be the club owners, and as such it needs professional people in place full time to administer it on behalf of the membership. I am not saying that there is no place for volunteers to assist with specific functions but the whole WS organisation needs to be reviewed and put on a more professional basis if they hope to achieve their targets.
  16. There is a big difference in the quality of the defending he would be up against from league 1 to the premiership, but i dont think another striker is what we need improving the midfield and defence are more of a priority.
  17. That deserves the same response Robson got on Saturday....straight red
  18. If the game finishes about 4.50 then you could make it, as it is at least a 20 min walk to the station. Best bet is to get a taxi to the game and arrange for him to come back for you after the match, we have done it a few times when we have been up there, pretty cheap as well if there are 2 or 3 of you.
  19. I think the friends fare is only available on certain trains, we always go up on the Friday and make a weekend of it and it has always been available, but not sure of the Saturday trains. You need to make sure when you are searching that you make it for 4 adults or the friends fare if available wont be given as an option.
  20. Just watched the highlights Dave, the pen was a stonewaller, probably lucky not to be a red card as well, so we got out of jail there, I actually thought the Ref was not too bad conned a few times by the Aberdeen players just falling down and winning free kicks but he handled the game well, no hesitation with the red card for Robsons assault on skippy, not the best we have seen but by no means the worst.
  21. Not only does top 4 become a distinct possibility but if Celtic win the cup then 4th will get a Europa league place so there is still a slim chance for McGhee to do a repeat of his 1st season last time round and take us into Europe, given where we were at the end of January the turnaround in the team has been fantastic. As for ICT we will have them going 2-0 to the good guys.
  22. Ripley for me he had a terrific game, some dodgy kick outs but excellent saves at crucial points in the game, commanded his area well, special mentions for Moult and Gomis who were great
  23. Not this time the Record online is reporting on it http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/motherwell-fans-club-pay-touching-7590402#gYSzMZQkfdBZDjz7.97
  24. There are many people who have serious concerns about how the WS seems to be administered, lets be honest since the outset it has been a shambles. The WS members will be the club owners so its not unreasonable for them to expect regular and relevant updates/communications on how the club is doing, how much money the Ws has, how its being invested and used, etc etc. The " fans need to step up " has been a well used phrase recently but the people running the WS need to do the same, they need to get more professional and convince existing and potential members that they know what they are doing, then they might have a chance to meet their targets. Their record so far has not been good how they act from now will make or break them and the WS.
  25. I was basing the post on member paying at least £10 per month as per the quoted average payment, but i take your point though. I really dont think the money is the issue unless you are on a really tight budget, the problem is the lack of people wanting to commit to the club/WS on a regular basis.
