Feckin typical the omens were good , beating morton on pens, semi finalists Dundee untd and StJ all the same as 91, and we blew the big chance yesterday even more gutted now.
-
That's the way it should be, never had time for all this give the youngsters a chance chat, if they are good enough they will get their chance. We have an opportunity to finish the season in 7th, more prize money etc, so it should be strongest available team at all times. What people don't realise is that the majority of the reserve team / colts won't be good enough to make the step up we will be doing well to get 1 or 2 players stepping up to the 1st team. We have had more than a decent return over recent years with Turnbull, Hastie, Campbell, Erwin, Cadden etc but that us not guaranteed. GA sees these players daily so I assume he knows who might be ready to step up and who is not, so a chance in the 1st team should be on merit not because we are safe in the league.

Given our recent penalty shootout form I honestly thought we would go through, Kelly Is always good for at least one save, as he proved today, but O'Hara and Lawless's efforts were shocking, so after doing all the hard work to equalise and take it to pens we blew it, a big chance missed.
-
99% of Well fans would not give a toss if we were dross for 89 mins and go on to win it in the last minute, it's a cup game all that counts is getting through, but you knock yourself out blaming GA, every forum needs a troll or two.
-
Never heard such pish in all my life, we were 2 down with 11 mins left, he changed our line up and we got back to 2-2, we then went on to boss the game, had a great chance in extra time to win it. Was it GA's fault O'Hara and Lawless made a mess of both their pens, I think not, if you need to blame anybody blame Magloire for giving Doidge a free header, or the linesman for not spotting an obvious offside, but blaming GA is feckin nonsense.
-
Against my better judgement went for Gallacher thought he was solid all game, between him and O'Donnell.
-
It's not over we have 7th place to play for, extra prize money, gutted we lost today as we have been rock solid in penalty shootouts recently, so a big chance missed, as has been said before apart from the uglies there is very little between the other teams.
-
Game over now, bollocks
-
The commentary is feckin shocking, Craigan and Stewart must have hard ons the amount of times they are talking up Hibs, they think they are watching Bayern Munich ffs
-
Magloire well at fault there, never jumped, can't afford to do that.
-
Spot on, Lots of possession for Hibs but Kelly has had nothing to do, he's hardly touched the ball.
-
Is it just me that thinks Strachan looks and sounds pished?
-
Not at all, paid a lot more than £ 12.99 at times to watch us getting pumped over the years so it would be a bargain
-
made a James Hunt of it, just signed up for the £12.99 deal and forgot all about the £6.99 promo code posted earlier.

We had all the doom and gloom and the death of Scottish football chat, when Rangers went bust in 2012 and it was all bullshit. It's an irrelevant argument anyway as it will never happen, but if the ugly sisters left Scotland the game would be better for it, more competition in the premiership, more teams getting a chance to win the league, 2 teams other than the uglies winning the league in the last 50 odd years is not good. As for TV money there would still be a deal albeit a lower one but clubs will survive, the game in Scotland is what it is but without the uglies it would be in a better place.
-
Are you suggesting the lowest league level in England or would they need to start in the Isthmian league at level 7, you could get a good Netflix mini series from that scenario,
-
Would take him back next season if Hearts don't want him, he gave us a very good option up front.
-
Sooner they leave Scottish football and take all there baggage with them the better, the Scottish game will be better for it. Plus if they did end up in an expanded English premiership / British super league they would quickly find out they are not as good as they think they are. The other 40 clubs in Scotland would be glad to see the back of them. However as Ya Bezzer says it will never happen, the English turkeys won't vote for Christmas, so this is the usual bullshit story that surfaces every few years.
-
I assume the vast majority, if not all of the people who will be there will have been at the game in 91 so they have probably heard "the old" Stories a dozen times, so whats the point. Raising funds for the youth academy is a great idea but the club could have been a bit more creative in deciding what fund raiser to implement. An event centering around the current players / club, with the 91 players involved as a nod to the cup win, comparing new and old styles, can this years squad repeat the win etc would have been appealing to a wider audience of fans of all ages, instead of the "Tam Cowan, asking Patterson or Nijholt for another funny story from the cup that year, or was Colin O'Neil really a psycho" format that's been done to death.
-
Agreed, as great as it was for those of us who were there and for the club , we will always remember it, but all of the Anniversary date stuff, talks with legends etc has been done to death, it was 30 years ago ffs, all we should get now is an update on the club twitter, " on this day 30 years ago etc we won the cup", we all like the tweet and move on.

Scottish football is what it is, not the best standard, but it's always been that way. GA won't be building a team to challenge for the title, for 10 of the 12 premiership teams 3rd , 4th or 5th in the league, a European place, and a good cup run constitutes a great season. On the budget we will have as always recruitment will be from the lower leagues in England, Scotland and elsewhere, we have found some great players from there in recent years, but also some utter dross, so given the events of this season we need to choose carefully . Given his experience and contacts in the English lower leagues I am confident GA and the coaching staff can bring in players who will be a good fit for the team and how he wants us to play, so here's hoping we can unearth another Higdon or Moult.

BBC gossip page allegedly has us interested in Linfield striker, Shayne Lavery https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56842582
-
On the phone to Alan Burrows asking how much budget he has for the summer rebuild and another season in the premiership
-
Job done with 3 games to spare, we can all relax now and look forward to the summer rebuild.
-
If it stays that way we are safe from the playoffs as well
