  1. In recent games yes they were, we seem to forget how to play in matches against them.
  2. One of the greatest players Scotland has ever produced, and one of our own, local Motherwell boy, same class at school as my mum. Never saw him play as just before my time but a true Motherwell and Scottish legend, sad day for football.
  3. Excellent post, as I have said the whole affair stinks, but Gallagher only has 7 games of his Motherwell career left, and then he is fair game for all the criticism he deserves in the former players thread, I wonder if the opinions of him will change then.
  4. Not so sure about 5th place getting Europe Scotland will now have two sides in the UEFA Champions League Qualifying Rounds. The winners of the Scottish Premiership will enter from the Third Qualifying Round and the second placed team in this season’s Scottish Premiership will enter from the Second Qualifying Round. In the Europa League, there will be one place granted to the winners of the 2020/21 Scottish Cup and the club will enter into the Third Qualifying Round of the competition. The clubs who finish in third and fourth place of the Scottish Premiership will enter into the newly created UEFA Europa Conference League from the Second Qualifying Round. The only way I can see 5th getting Europe is if any of the top 4 win the cup, then 5th might get the cup place, or 3rd gets the cup place and 4th and 5th get the conference league spots, but I can't find any info confirming that.
  5. Their bubble has burst and their season is effectively over, a top six finished secured so no threat of relegation, and they won't get near the European places so nothing left to play so the performance level might drop. All of which should favour us and if we continue playing as we have done the last 2 games then I can see a good win for us.
  6. 1- He is out of contract in the summer so we will get nothing for him. 2 - His commitment to the club has to be questioned after whoring himself to other clubs, specifically celtic during the transfer window, 3- I firmly believe there was a extension clause for at least another season after this season, so this seems to have been removed and coincidentally he is fit again and ready to play. 4 - As I say the whole episode stinks, he no longer wants to be at the club, and that's not the kind of player we need right now. He wants to be in the Scotland squad so will he be fully committed to Motherwell throwing himself into tackles etc and risking Injury, I would like to think so but I have major doubts he will be.
  7. According to the BBC gossip page yesterday's appearance triggered his contract extension "till at least the summer " was the phrase used, so either his original contract was only till January or the original extension, for however long was scrapped. The whole episode smells of shite, so for me Gallagher should not be starting games, stick to the players from the last 2 games and use him as a sub if required.
  8. Did you notice the over zealous high viz clad wee jobsworth prick steward in GA's face when he got sent off, wonder when the SFA started employing match stewards as 4th officials
  9. 3 points would be great, but would settle for being hard to beat and another point to keep us moving in the right direction.
  10. You get away with being huffy and moaning faced if you score goals, as is the case with Morelos, but continually turning out and contributing next to nothing game after game, your attitude and ability will be questioned.
  11. For me Long is not interested in being at the club, his attitude is questionable every game he plays, as you say he has had plenty of chances to show what he's got, but it never happens.
  12. Are you a part time advisor to the Crown office as that might explain why they are making such a James Hunt of the Alex Salmond conspiracy.
  13. Jordan Roberts, for me never stopped running all game. Special mention for SOD, and Magloire thought they were solid at the back
  14. Not ugly from us, we at least tried to play from the back, and kicked it long when we had to, St Mirren were route 1, kicking it long from the 1st minute, we played a lot of good football, lacked the killer touch up top but a very good point overall.
  15. Great performance tonight, night and day from the last 2, we were unlucky not to win it, one off the post, onwards and upwards, coyw
  16. Thanks for for introducing me to a new experience on this forum a Yodo post that actually makes sense, agree with all of it, if Gallagher is not up for it, get him dropped and warming the bench for the last 9 games, no pissing about pandering to players who won't be here next season.
  17. The only stats that matter are who scored the most goals
  18. Don't think there is a conspiracy here, all part of the GA deal I think, clearing out the old regime, Lasley might be next. Ross will probably turn up at Ibrox now they are champions elect.
  19. Given our current situation relegation is a serious possibility and while I hope it never happens, if the worst case occurred would it be a bad thing? The main impact of relegation is financial, loss of revenue , TV money, prize money , match day tickets sales and hospitality etc . However as the club is now debt free, fan owned and in a much better financial state than previous years would the impact of relegation be as severe than say 4 or 5 years ago? Assuming a major rebuild in the summer and keeping a premiership level squad together we could restore confidence in the team and come back up right away, a bit like Hearts look like doing this year. So my question is , would relegation necessarily be a bad thing?
  20. Given how we played a school team would have looked good in that game, I think accies luck will finally run out this season, but in fairness I don't care who the bottom 2 are as long as we are not one of them.
  21. Devastating is a bit dramatic, a Celtic win was what we wanted but hey ho. Survival is still completely in our own hands as we will be playing Accies, RC and Killie again, so no need for hysteria or pant wetting right now
  22. Keep the faith, there are still 27 points to play for 15 against the dross round about us, we will stay up, Accies are going down and Killie into the playoffs 9th place for us I reckon. Away to practice my happy clapping now.
