  1. A major disappointment is we never beat them once under his management. I cant stand him.
  2. If our defence and keeper are not on their toes no, United are pretty decent in and around the box and score goals but defensively they concede as many as we do. This is one I think could go either way. Truth be told I'd just be happy not to into the semi on the back of 3 defeats out of 4. So I'll take a win or a draw.
  3. What always pisses me off is whenever we get to a final it's the OF waiting on us (1991 excluding) Since we last won in 1991. There have been winners who didn't face the OF. Winners: Scottish Cup: Hearts faced Grena , St Johnstone faced Hibs, ICT faced Falkirk, Dundee Utd faced Ross County, Kilmarnock faced Falkirk. League Cup: Livingston faced Hibs, Hibs faced Kilmarnock , St Mirren faced Hearts, Aberdeen faced ICT. If we get to the final it will be my 6th and we will have faced the OF in 5 of them.
  4. Oh I didn't notice that, well maybe we will get nearer the 9000 mark🤞
  5. Club confirmed over 7000 tickets sold. Maybe I'm alone in thinking that's disappointing for a very winable game. I was seriously expecting nearer 9000
  6. Correct the pace on that pitch today was ridiculously slow. Whilst not to blame for every intercepted pass it certainly played a part.
  7. We will but from what I saw today Utd we're far from convincing against St Mirren and lucked out with the refs decisions. It will be a hard hard game but if we have any aspirations we need to win games like this. The return of Slattery is a major bonus. If we play like we can and do it over 90 mins there's no reason why we can't win.
  8. The pace of the ball was very slow. Commented about it several times during the game. It created a could of heart stopping moments when we played it across the back 4 . On a grass pitch some of these heart in the mouth moments don't happen.
  9. That's the classic "sometimes you need to win ugly" ...we were so frustrating all over the park today. However we take it and hope for better against Dundee Utd. That victory today was essential no matter how it was achieved.
  10. Aye but had we not had Gordon Marshall who absolutely sold the Jerseys that day the result could have been different or at least alot closer. We brought it back to 2-1 within 13 mins and had them back peddling then that big Diddy sold the Jerseys.
  11. The two worst Old Firm sides we'd ever face in a final....
  12. One things for sure this next 10 days has the potential to be the best we've had in years or the absolute worst. No one can say its boring.
  13. Yeah but I've already seen comments on social media like "get this tippy happy stuff to fuck, we just need to win" or "Id rather watch shite and win" granted it's only a few voices but I can see it now if we end up bottom of the league and out the cup. Fans are fickle that's why the next 3 games are extremely important. Embed the feel good factor keep the impressive uptick in attendances that's what three good results can do.
  14. Lose to Livingston you wait and see some of the fan reaction.
  15. For first time this season I go into a game feeling a bit pessimistic. I have been Confident in the other games. I just feel we are in a wee bit of a spiral right now. It would just be too easy to put ourselves right back on track over the next 3 games and if one thing I've learned supporting Motherwell we rarely take the straightforward route. I think as usual we will dominate large parts of the game but still gift goals. I'm going 2-0 to Livingston. It just so Motherwell to lose to the two promoted teams in a week. I just feel its going to get worse before it gets better from here. Fingers crossed it just post weekend blues.
  16. I just cant understand why they dont stick to the clear and obvious error. Saturdays ruled out goal was knit picking trying to find and error. That is not clear and obvious that is blatantly searching for something to cancel a goal.
  17. Don't worry lose to Livingston and the heat directed at the manager will increase quite considerably. For some we are a baw hair away from wanting the long ball shite back, as if that made us much better in the last few seasons. Basic individual errors are costing us dearly hopefully these will lessen because in every game right now we are making some absolute howlers. We are not being beaten or losing a lead because the opposition are outplaying us. (Falkirk 2nd half excluded) Our season could look fantastic in 4 weeks time or it could look desperate thats the fine line we are running right now.
  18. and is it that poor ? we are 3 points off 3rd and at half time yesterday we were 3rd. No one outwith Celtic and Hearts have won more than 2 games.
  19. If 1 win in 8 is relegation form everyone from Hibs in 3rd down are in similar form. No one from Hibs (3rd)down to Livingston (12th) have won more than two games.
  20. Now that I've calmed down after yesterday , still greatly pissed off to have lost a game we really should have had won by half time. Defensively in the second half we were a shambles. I don't buy into the McGlynn tactical genius angle. He did what every team should try and do they stepped up their press. However we let them and sat off them. We let them hem us in at our own 18 yard box for much of the second half. Instead our midfield should have been exploiting the space in the midfield Dundee's press was creating but we didn't. Our final ball and decision making was very poor in the second half. Utterly woeful defending gave them the lift they needed and once they scored we panicked and I don't think any Motherwell fan couldn't see the winner coming for Dundee. Our self destruct button has been off the scale this season. However key influences were the loss of Longello Koutrombis looking like he'd never seen a football Hendry blowing out his arse after 50 mins Set pieces and crosses into the area absolutely pathetic, no pace on the ball and accuracy even worse. Said has all the attributes, except one, his final ball 9 times out of 10 is piss poor but he is still an asset. Substitutions changed nothing it was like for like, although SOD was an improvement on Koutrombis We are poor up front and that with a self destruct defence / keeper are killing us. With all that said we were unlucky that AP didn't score in the second half as bad as we were. Much is also being made about the fact we've only won one game out of 8 and its a fair point. However if we look at the league table no one from Hibs down to Livingston have won more than 2 games. Quite an incredible stat. Its little wonder a very average Hearts team look like potential League winners cos they can score goals. Very frustrating but for self destruction our play would merit us being where Hearts are. We need to start kicking on soon or we could get dragged down to a position our play doesn't merit and that would be a shame. By time the Liv gam comes Ill be back to normal but if we lose that the manager will sadly start to feel the heat. Anyway ramble over.....
  21. Totally agree, that's why I said in my pre game predictions that this was an important game because I knew some fans are just waiting to declare "get this fancy football to fuck" and resort to the mind numbing shite of the last few years and sadly the defeat has brought some of that very reaction I was worried about.
  22. How could he not be we beat ourselves again.
  23. 100% correct . I keep hearing people saying that the opposition tumbled to our style. I don't buy that. Sure 2nd half Falkirk tried to press us further up the park but we stopped doing what we've been good at in the 1st half. The entire team fell behind the ball and started defending on the edge of our own 18 yard box. If we had continued to play our passing game and not sat back we would have got space in the midfield, couple that to the fact our final ball is truly shocking. This was no McGlynn masterclass we made life easy for them and in the end Falkirk got what they deserved. Losing Longello was a blow and the other substitutions didn't actually improve us. So frustrating.
  24. 7495, a great turn out but that second half will see us return to our normal dreadful 4000/4500 if we don't beat Livingston. So desperately disappointing. Got what we deserved today.
