League Cup Semi Motherwell v St Mirren 1/11/2025
FirParkCornerExile replied to grizzlyg's topic in Club Chat
In those days it was a role reversal . In the mad confused world of the Old Firm bigotry many Celtic fans supported the Republic of Ireland over Scotland and you never saw the hatred some Rangers fans now have for Scotland. -

100% correct , Rangers along with the Tories killed a full scale rebuild, remember it like it was yesterday. Rangers lobbied the Tory Govt who just needed and excuse to back out as Rangers wanted Ibrox to be the home of Scotland games. -
Correct , this game is huge for us. We will probably get a decent crowd but I just get the feeling some of our support are just ready to jump and start bitching if we don't get a win and Id hate to see the style we've adopted being undermined by fans turning against it because we don't win tomorrow. For me we probably need 7 points from our next 3 games to keep the all the fans on the same page.

Our cup record against St Mirren is abysmal but frankly I wouldn't bet against us these days. There is not one team that has played us off the park and but for OUR own ability to shoot ourselves in the foot we could quite easily be top of the league right now and no one could argue against it based on our general standard of play. I happy for us to face anyone right now, I have no fear facing anyone in the league or the Cup. Do I think we have better players than St Mirren ? Yes I do and all things being equal the team with better players should win. However we all know that's not always the way. St Mirren are big strong and physical and they never give up. Does that mean we will beat St Mirren , no it doesn't , but there is absolutely no reason why we can't. -

I see tickets are now being sold in section F4 at Hampden that wasn't previously available. Promising sign. -

I've heard that from a St Mirren fan too and a number of their fans on social media confirmed the same. -

According to the Map we've all but sold out I3, I4, I5, I6 & J1 in the South Stand And D3, D4, D5, F1, F2, & F3 not that far away . If each section holds say an average of 800 that would point to 8800. I actually thought that with those sections nearly sold out we would have been more than 6000 but bow to those who know Hampden better. If we sell North of 8000 I don't think that's too bad , all things considered, but at the end of the day it is what it is. -

I have attached the two screen shots of seats available about 30 mins ago. The available seats are in blue. All the sections showing are what have been available for sale. If and it is if we were allocated 10000 tickets we look as if we are not far off selling them all. If that proves to be correct I will be honest and say I'm astonished considering the ticketing process and no I'm not gonna count the blue seats left 😂 Does anyone know how many tickets we took , I know St Mirren said they'd taken 1000 -

Yep, but tickets won't appear in your Hampden app until a week before the game but the club send you a confirmation email as soon as you've bought the tickets -

Yes, inside the Hampden App there is a transfer button that you'd use to send the tickets, the email address you send them to must be the ones your "gang" set up their Hampden app. -

I see a few St Mirren fans wanking themselves into oblivion because they sold more tickets than us yesterday. They should sell more than us their town has twice the population of Motherwell. My guess is a crowd of 16/17000.. we will be in the region of 7000/7500. Of course if we have 3 good results before the game we might go a bit higher. -
I'd like to think so. That's been one of the best things about recent changes, the crowds have genuinely shifted for the first time in about 20 years. That's why it's so important to get returns for the way we are playing. The additional 2000 home fans we've been getting ain't locked in punters. We need to keep them coming back. Slip up against Falkirk and Livi and the doubts in these people minds will see them drift. Clowns like me will always be there, so they really could do anything and I'd go. I'd moan like fuck about it but I'd go. These extras fans ain't as daft as me. Scotland could also help with a decent couple of results, instilling a feel good factor that might help all the clubs.

The clubs are the authorities they need to be stronger standing up for sensible ticketing. -

I never let any clubs off with the "it's the SFA" line. The clubs are the SFA and clubs should be piling it into the SFA board if the fans feel aggrevied. -

I got an email confirmation of purchase from Motherwell. I'd check your email address on your Motherwell ticketing account just to ensure its correct and matches the one in the Hampden app. I'm sure it will be fine. I'm just one of these belt n braces sados. -

No they won't be in the app yet, It says tickets will appear in the App a week before the game and the QR code on the ticket will activate on the morning of the game. -

Another thing I was wondering what happens to kids who dont have a smartphone. Can their parents keep two tickets in their smartphone and get them both in via the Hampden app -

It is absolutely shocking cos he will need a smartphone with him and the app to get in. So if an old buddy doesn't have a smartphone they cant go, piss poor. You seriously wouldn't know football was a business dependant on customers. -

Just purchased my tickets, it was all straightforward and you can pick your own seats if you don't like where the auto selection places you in your chosen section . Still a ridiculous way to attract fans to football. -

It's a pain in the arse and will ensure many who would have gone won't. The process despite being a pain in the arse is quite straightforward. 1. Everyone who wants a ticket downloads the Hampden app. 2. Season ticket holders can get as many tickets as they like. 3. Season ticket holders purchase tickets from Motherwells ticketing platform. 4. Every ticket ordered must have an email address associated with the Hampden app. If you order 5 tickets for family / friends they must all give you the email address that they set up the Hampden app with. 5. When tickets are purchased all tickets will need to be sent from the Hampden app of the purchaser to the email that each person used to set up the Hampden app , the ticket will appear in each individuals Hampden app on the week of the game. 6. Entry to Hampden will only be possible using the Hampden App ticket QR code that will go live on the morning of the game. Disenfranchising our older supporters who are not mobile app savy. Shocking way to treat potential paying customers. -
	Fair enough...

That for me is really all that we are missing. If we get results against Livingston and Falkirk we are well set up for the season but we just cannot give either of those sides the goalkeeping freebies we've given Hearts, Kilmarnock and Celtic. We really should be sitting top of the league and that's a testament to how well we've played but shooting ourselves in the foot.

Everyone is going round in circles on this one. It was a keeper fuck up plain and simple. He joins Stevie Woods in the worst fuck ups against the OF from a winning position. Games done and lost, we can't change it.
