  1. It's been a real irritant for me. I'm from a generation where we used to give the OF a real hard time. They hated playing us but the last 21 years have been depressing in the extreme against them. Thankfully that monkey being removed will lead to better times against the OF.
  2. Football really is the craziest game to support. This time last week many of us would be in the depths of despair having fucked up against Celtic .. again and the thought of our season collapsing against Livingston and a likely hammering against Rangers. I did say before the Livi game that it would be a season defining game but little did I think we'd all be feeling like this exactly one week after that Celtic game. Football supporting is a bloody rollercoaster.
  3. They sure did and with the run of fixtures coming up we've given ourselves a real chance of a top 6 place which sounds crazy the way most of us have felt this season. However to make that happen we need four really big performances.
  4. 100% correct, or a game against some European cunt no ones ever heard of or could even spell.
  5. My Birthday too couldn't have A better present.
  6. No better results than putting one over the old firm on their own patch. Sadly I was a young man the last time it happened but at least it happened again before I croak it.
  7. Didnt know how the game went couldn't bring myself to watch but frankly I don't give a fuck, the hoodoo is buried and every result bar the Hibs result went for us. What a great birthday present.
  8. That's perfectly possible, but I still think the turnout reflects badly on a group within the clubs support no matter how we dress it up care about the club. To not care either way shows a level of indifference that is really at the crux of our problems as a fan owned club and perhaps explains why no matter how successful we are on the pitch our home support never goes north of 4500.
  9. I can't agree your assumption. If people are members they must be more engaged than people who are not just by the sheer action of joining. If they didn't care that wouldn't be members. Before anyone starts I'm not suggesting non members do not care but this discussion is about people people who are members and couldn't be bothered to vote I really find it beyond credible WS members didn't know there was a vote happening.
  10. I wasn't contacted and if id had locked myself in a cupboard I wouldn't have known there was a vote. However as a supporter I heard about it from everyone and their granny who are Motherwell supporters and it was also on social media and in the print media. I therefore assumed correctly the WS didn't have my correct details so contacted them by email as we were asked to do. I got a reply within an hour giving me the link to vote. I find it incredible that would have bee so difficult for the majority of society members.
  11. I find it hard to believe there were society members who didn't know there was a vote. If they didn't they must live in a bubble away from all social media about Motherwell and all family and friends who go to the games.
  12. You are correct that is democracy and how democracy works, arbitrary thresholds are for corrupt politicians.
  13. For the simple reason , no one side can claim no voters, if people don't vote their opinion is not considered. It's that simple. A majority is a majority that is democracy , arbitrary thresholds are things politicians like to use when they don't like the answer they are likely to get.
  14. Aye but he gave control to a Muppet
  15. There's no point trying to spin it with conjecture and assumption. It's a disgraceful response , every real Motherwell fan alive would or should have known that vote was taking place and if they didn't get an invite to vote they should have contacted the Well Society. That's what I did and it took two mins with a response within an hour.
  16. The turnout is an absolute disgrace.
  17. The most telling stat of all is a 36% reply rate so 74% of society members couldn't be arsed to vote. That tells you all you need to know. Aject apathy from the very people invested in the club and we seriously hope to build a club that can expand and progress with that kind of interest.
  18. I'm sure we will but if Aberdeen , Hibs , Hearts or clubs of that statue want him we cannot compete on wages.
  19. Nae offence mate but he'young man with a young family if someone offers to to double/ tremble his wages he won't gives two fucks if he's settled. Why do football fans have these misty eyed notions of what players are in the game for.
  20. Someone please explain to me how anyone sees him staying with us. His form will have attracted a few clubs especially with him being out of contract. So unless these clubs are Scottish Championship clubs we cannot match what he will be offered. There is Zero chance of him being with us next year and anyone thinking he will be is being delusional.
  21. We wont be getting Blair Spittal on am extended contract. His form will have attracted a number of bigger clubs and he's due his pay day. Mind you if he ends up at St Mirren he's off his head. I seriously think Aberdeen , Hibs or Hearts my be interested and if they are he ain't staying with us.
  22. It is quite incredible we still have a chance considering how utterly abysmal we've been most of the season
  23. A truly abysmal first half. Really concerning the levels to which we fall. Second half was much better and we ran out worthy winners. Despite all my doom and gloom throughout the game at this stage in the season all that matters is the result. Pity our next game is Rangers, hopefully combination of result will keep us no worse than four points off 6th and we can have a real go at achieving the remarkable and get into top six. I don't think we will but three home games out of four to the split gives us a chance but we will need to do something that's been beyond us all season winning three games on the bounce.
  24. The loss has fuck all to do with money spent on the ground, how many times does this need to be said. The ground improvement were paid from a £3 million 20 year interest free loan from the Scottish Govt. The money could only be spent on facilities. So at most the payments on the loan cost £150,000 the remaining £1,450,000 loss has fuck all to do with the ground and pitch improvements.
