I'm not too bothered about seeding in 23-24 we were seeded and got St Mirren away and frankly in my years supporting Motherwell I've seen plenty teams I wouldn't see in our way dump us out both the Cups. One of the worst being Albion Rovers at NDP

A completely different game. In the last three games they have packed the defence and kept everybody behind the ball. Morton will come and have a go. I'll be more interested to see how we fare against teams who are not basically just setting themselves up to stop us scoring. Morton will be a bit more adventurous.

A real slog tonight but we got there in the end. We tried to do the pressing game but too often the passing was slack and broke down. Peterhead kept it really tight at the back and we struggled with it . Be interested to see how we fare against teams who open out but no doubt there are still improvements needed. However if you were the guy at the back of section F in the Hunter stand who abused nearly every player you need to get a grip. Boo'd SOD onto the park , never left Euan Wilson with a name and berated Gordon most of the game. We were all feeling frustrated but fuck me you were way over the top.

What amazed me more on Saturday was the amount of enormous fuckers in our support and I'm talking American sizes. Was there a Well Society sponsored weight gain competition during close season? Some of them could have provided much needed shade to the poor buggers in the kiosk Que wie their belly over hang. Some of those sights would put you off going for life.

I talked to quite a number of fans walking to the game and queuing outside and most of them said its the first time in ages they were genuinely excited about the opening game.

The volleyball was tedious, if you want to play games go to the swing park.

Motherwell are the absolute masters of the let down. I've rarely seen so many Motherwell fans genuinely excited going into a game. Big crowd , enthusiasm from the stands and we fail to deliver yet again. However I'll not get too wound up, it was the first game and absolutely brutal playing conditions. I swear one day we will put on a performance when the fans turn out in numbers.

I would have thought Armstrong would be easy to get had we wanted him , so I suspect we don't. Still amazed Kilmarnock haven't signed Harry Paton. Did we offer Paton a contract?

I could have sworn we had Seddon on longer than a one year deal, oh well fuck goes that idea of getting cash.

I think its a tough start but swings and roundabouts we have Aberdeen , Dundee Utd , Hibs and Falkirk at home twice. If we were away to all of them twice I wouldn't fancy more than 6/7 points from 24.

I think at least two of those 4 will end up at Kilmarnock , my bets are on Paton and Seddon....Ebyie at a push.

No manager ever comes with any guarantees. Right now there is a 50/50 chance good or bad. I'd have had the same feeling no matter who we appointed. Good luck to him and at least he is not one of the Scottish Football Merry go rounders or media "jobs for the boys" . That for me is a bonus right away.

if anyone bases their purchase of a season ticket on who the manager will be they need to take a good look at themselves . There are many good reason why people might not buy a Season Ticket Cost, Family Commitments, Work Commitments al perfectly acceptable but who the manager is ? nah no having it.
