  1. No one is going to want to sit down the front of the stand today with the wind and rain. We will be arriving early and bagging a couple of seats half way up.
  2. Not done too bad for someone that was garbage, clearly they did not agree.
  3. And not deemed good enough for us by a few.
  4. Right player ? Maybe, maybe not. Right type of player for what we need , yes. Good luck to him, hopefully that’s now us covered up front.
  5. Seems to be the way on here, a couple of defeats and the team is suddenly rank rotten, seems to happen every three months or so. The team have not suddenly become a disaster any more than they have become world beaters. We are running one of the lower budgets in the league and signing lower league players which we try to develop along with our youngsters. By its very nature that’s going to lead to inconsistent performances, the questions marks should be towards teams like Hearts, Hibs, and Aberdeen who are all below us in the table with vastly larger playing budgets. We tend to be pretty consistent against teams at our budget level winning far more than we lose and while we carry on doing that we will be just fine. Let’s go to St Mirren on Saturday and cheer the guys on to a win which we are more than capable of. On a side note I think we may well have signed an absolute cracker in Aarons, against lesser teams he could be very impressive.
  6. We are still the fourth highest scorers in the league, goals have come other areas than just the forwards. Personally I think there’s been a huge overreacted to a couple of defeats, one on the dreaded plastic pitch and the other against far and away the stand out team in Scottish football. We played well against Hibs and won the two tough games before that. We have four winnable games coming up now which will show where we are but there is nothing to suggest we are just going to collapse. As with many other posters I agree we need a central striker to play alongside Long, not sure if Watt is that player but I think we all need to remember it’s been a very good season up to this point with many positives. A top four finish and a run in the cup is better than the vast majority of supporters were expecting.
  7. Decent first half which was a vast improvement on the Livi game, individual mistakes costly. Celtic took control second half with their superior quality from back to front. Robinson went for it which was probably not the right decision on the night but other results all went in our favour. Aarons looks like a decent signing who when up to speed will contribute. We have not become a poor side overnight and will bounce back.
  8. Other results very much going our way though.
  9. Not a bad first half performance to be fair, still in it.
  10. On a plus note Aarons looks a step up from Seedorf. Just hope we don’t concede a hatful here, not looking great.
  11. Brave line up but we could get pumped.
  12. I just don’t buy the argument that our form is going to suddenly drop off a cliff, can’t see why it would just because of a very bad performance against Livi. It’s the same group of players that have done so well this season without a target man so what’s changed ?
  13. I’m expecting two changes at most with illic dropped for Aaron’s and Grimshaw back in for Tait.
  14. I’m expecting a defeat by two or three goals but also expect a far better performance, in fairness it could not be any worse. Would like to see the two new guys given a run out at some stage but it’s a bit of a baptism of fire. Just hope we don’t get completely battered with the cup game next Saturday.
  15. For me it’s a good deal, supporters always think players go too cheaply. When there was talk of Hastie leaving half a million was quoted as a minimum we should accept on here, what is he worth now ? Rangers might get 50k from a Scottish club maximum.
  16. It’s a hell of a lot better than what was on offer at Livingstone yesterday.
  17. I think in general it’s a percentage which is why agents like a bidding war.
  18. I season is judged on it’s entirety, I would doubt many on here would have been unhappy with a top six finish. For what’s its worth I believe we will finish forth and that would be an outstanding season given all the top city clubs are in the top flight. The biggest blow to the club would not be losing any individual player, it would be losing Robinson, that’s my biggest fear with the upcoming case. I’m sure there will be a good number of clubs quickly wanting him as their manager should he leave.
  19. Not saying Main would be my number one option but if it was between another winger from down south or him I would have taken him, we badly need someone that can hold the ball up front, yesterday was painful to watch with no one ever in control of the ball.
  20. I’m generally a supporter of Robinson but I’m baffled as to why we keep bringing in very average wide players when it’s obvious we are crying out for a decent central striker, it just seems a complete waste of money. I thought Lyndon Dykes was excellent yesterday and he’s exactly the type of player we need not another lightweight winger. Now ok we know we can’t afford Dykes but I would rather see Main return who could at least hold the ball up and had a physical presence. I would like to think we have more than enough quality in the team to avoid a freefall though, we always tend to bounce back.
  21. I have to say I think you’re exaggerating the level to which this seasons success has been due to Scott, I would say his impact has been minimal, he’s slowly improving but has a long way to go. I can name another half dozen player in the first 11 who have had more of an impact than Scott has. Sitting at a large table of well fans yesterday they were split down the middle on the Scott transfer with one stating he would get nowhere near the first team and be back up here with his tail between his legs within 18 months, time will tell. We needed a central striker before Scott left and still do so nothing has changed there anyway. Scott is not Ronaldo and I don’t see him been the difference between Europe or not.
