  1. Personally I think we still need another four players. We’ve lost the whole spine of the team, Aldred, Gorrin , Turnbull, Main, on top of starters like Cadden, Hastie. Goals next season really worry me with Scott still not ready in my view, Johnstone not really up to the standard needed and huge question marks over Tanner.
  2. I would take Lafferty in a heartbeat.
  3. If he’s gone i’d rather we just moved on in truth, no point in any self destructive mud slinging at those working within the club. Debt wiped off and and new beginning as a debt free club that can re-invest everything we take in, just need to make the right decisions on how that’s done.
  4. So up the bid and the others put in offers, not happening so what’s stopping them ? they have all had a week.
  5. Surely the last week has shown exactly the opposite, only Norwich were genuinely interested enough to put in a rival bid which tells you everything you need to know. Supporters are just so fickle in truth, he’s going to sign for Norwich and the board have played a blinder, looks like Celtic and its all their fault. We really need to look at moving on now, he’s never going to play another game for Motherwell so we take the money and look forward to the new season.
  6. Or maybe he may develop further by joining a club in one of the best leagues in the world. They seriously need to get a grip.
  7. All about the balance, with the debt paid off I would expect a sensible increase in the budget alongside investment in youth and the stadium. Certainly not in favour of forgetting past mistakes and trying to spend our way to potential success.
  8. If Cadden and Turnbull go as it looks like they will more a case of which area to strengthen
  9. Let’s keep the moral high ground, the board have played a blinder.
  10. I will believe it when I see it, love it to be true, BUT nothing we have not read before many, many times.
  11. It’s often standard practice for the buying club, I know that does not fit in to the agenda though so apologies.
  12. End of the day they have had the chance regardless, no real excuses. If they really wanted him they would have come in by now. Celtic’s gain is their loss in my view. Anyway, best of luck to him regardless, he did the right thing by the club.
  13. I don’t see this going on for weeks, deal sorted with the next few days in my view.
  14. I think way too much is been made of something that’s pretty simple. Motherwell had a figure in mind that a club had to match and only Celtic did, the other published bids fell short. There never was a bidding war and the last few days have shown there was never going to be one. There has been nothing to stop any other club matching the Celtic offer and not one has come forward. Turnbull has as good as said to other clubs down south “come and get me”, so where are they ? So he either joins Celtic at a figure we are happy with, or we get a lower offer from down south big a big sell on clause which is beginning to look doubtful. With every passing day it’s looking more like Celtic are nailed on.
  15. The longer it goes on without a bid from down south the longer it looks like Burrows had it spot on. People can talk of a bidding war all they like but other clubs should have come in by now if genuinely interested at the price and as others have said he is only worth what clubs are willing to pay.
  16. Thing is there won’t be much point in us keeping them in the loop in 3/4 years time.
  17. I would not rule out him still joining Celtic. He’s looking at his options and i’d be very surprised if he’s said i’m definitely not joining Celtic, I think they are still probably favourites if nothing concrete down south.
  18. Very much a tale of two players and two different personalities at this point. Hastie who had a bit of history of not putting in the work, overweight, less than wise tweets while on a lads holiday, and already looking like he will be loaned out with question marks already raised at this point, Rangers trying to hoover up Scottish talent to avoid him going to a competitor with no real plan for his development. Celtic trying to do the same with what looks like a far wiser individual in Turnbull who has noted what’s already happening with Hastie and is looking at the bigger picture and how he would like his career to develop. The next move for Turnbull is huge, the same way it was for Hastie who I feel made the wrong decision, big money yes but I think he’s also put his whole football career at risk. I just don’t think Turnbull is going to make that mistake and if he does join Celtic it will only be when he’s happy that the plans they have for him are to his benefit. I would love him to stay for another season with us but that’s for purely selfish reasons. He’s playing with others that are not at his technical level and never will be, that goes for the league as a whole, so how does he develop further ? He needs to be playing with players that are better than him, that will improve his game, coaches that are used to working with the best players in the world. He’s definitely looking for a move down south now which with the right club and everything they can offer development wise makes sense. He’s probably gone as far as he can in the Scottish game which is a level below his ability.
  19. Never going to happen. He will never put on another Motherwell shirt, too far down the line now.
  20. Surely it’s agree a fee that’s acceptable to the club first, then it’s up to the players agent to do his work. No player has to accept anything but there is no point doing it the other way round. This does not mean he won’t join Celtic, more he’s probably looking to maximise his options, he could still sign for them anyway.
