  1. I take it Gallagher will be a direct replacement for Aldred with the though that Maguire also starts getting some game time ?
  2. On the games i’ve seen he looks a good acquisition.
  3. Yep, money talks in the end regardless and the Premiership now has all the major Scottish clubs in it with none of them in a complete mess. It really is one top six place up for grabs at the moment, we had a shot at it but it was always pretty obvious we did not have enough quality.
  4. To be fair we’ve lost most games against teams with more quality simply because “ they have more quality” that’s surely been the way most seasons of late ? I think regardless of what Robinson or any other manager does we will still lose way more games against Celtic and Rangers than we ever win. We’ve not now gone 43 games without a win against Rangers because every manager has been tactically inept. It’s not hard to identify the problem, they have better players than we do.
  5. Can’t be easy attracting players to the club with our budget to be fair and as we all know they soon attract attention when they start performing. But that’s what you take on when you agree to be the next Motherwell manager so it comes with the gig.
  6. Of course we all know the business technicalities. My point was more it’s constantly referenced across social media using terms like Sevco who I believe then changed the clubs name to “ the Rangers” to wind up Rangers fans. My understanding is on paper they should therefore be described as “ The Rangers Football Club” and not Sevco ? I can’t see how that’s anything other than being said as a wind up.
  7. Not really done with creditors in mind though is it. Companies go bust all the time owing creditors, I had it when I was self employed.
  8. Always though the new club thing was more to wind up Rangers fans.
  9. Did not realise Motherwell had not beaten Rangers in the league for 42 games.
  10. He has had a good few opportunities looking back at highlights, he just cant put the ball in the back of the net and looks totally devoid of confidence. Listen I get all the positives about him, he does contribute and put a shift in. However I would question whether that’s going to be enough for a club looking to try and finish second next season.
  11. I’d be suprised if that happens. The guy has scored 3 league goals all season, can’t see the attraction for a top six club regardless of his other attributes.
  12. Still unlikely I agree, I would much rather he moved down south than Joining Rangers so would not be too unhappy.
  13. Interesting. Given his last two or three performances I wonder if interest is also dropping off slightly including from Rangers. Certainly looks like he is still weighing up his options, still a chance he stays ?
  14. Changes on the summer for sure with a totally new set of strikers which it’s hard to argue against. Sammon was a mistake from the start for me, Johnstone is not quite good enough for the level, and Main for all his hard work needs a change of club. Hastie is probably as good as gone and it’s guesswork on Cadden, Campbell and Gorrin at the moment. Personally I would stick with McHugh, he showed on Saturday what a usuful player he is to have in the squad. If we can get Ariyibi on a season long loan a big plus and I would love to see Aldred on a permanent contract, seem to remember he mentioned lately he would be open to the suggestion. Biggest plus for me this season though is the change of playing style, is night and day and genuinely entertaining to watch. Whatever happens I hope we recruit players that work in that system and don’t revert back to hoof ball.
  15. Another player who’s status has risen very quickly, not that long ago I was one of the few who felt if given a run in the team he had something to offer, many seemed to have already written him off.
  16. I actually thought Turnbull was below his usual standards yesterday.
  17. Certainly no main hate from me, quite the opposite he puts in a tremendous shift and as you say is often instrumental. However looking forward to next season would you keep things as they are up front and trust that he finds his goalscoring form again ? You are of course correct when you say a lone striker has to be more than just a goalscorer, but he does also have to be a goalscorer, he’s scored 3 league goals all season.
  18. Number one priority in the summer is obviously a goalscorer, easier said than done on our budget but we can’t go into next season with Main i’m afraid.
  19. I would agree with pretty much all of that with no player really standing out. Distribution was pretty appalling from everyone and when you add in St Johnston’s tactics of taking out anyone who crossed the halfway line it was very frustrating to watch, the ref had a howler for me, never being truly in control of the game. The game changer was definitely the introduction of Frear and Cadden, Ariyibi was hardly given a sniff while I continue to question if Hastie really is as good as he’s being made out to be, Frear and Cadds did more in five minutes than he did the previous 60. I would also say that Tait had one of his worst games for ages even though he obviously scored and hit the crossbar.
  20. First time i’m not voting, simply because there was no real stand out candidate in my view.
  21. Personally I can’t say i’ve seen enough to suggest he will make the Premier league, it’s full these days of some exceptionally talented players. Turnbull, well that could be a different story.
  22. He still has a long way to go and at this point the jury is out for me, time will tell because he has a big task ahead of him now for sure. I’m not going to comment on the whole contract thing again, it’s already been done to death and no one is going to change their opinion on it.
  23. I don’t think it’s actually that far off the mark. I personally think Turnbull was the catalyst that saw the season change around. While I accept it’s a team game he had a massive effect on the whole team, not just with some crucial goals but the lift he gave everyone, including the crowd. I would not be upset at all if he won both awards because he’s at the heart of just about everything positive the team do.
