  1. A terrible first half performace, and a much improved second half performance....a real game of two halfs. I think Robinson will admit he got it wrong in the first half, Shaka mentioned he noticed after 20 minutes it had to change, and it probably did but the equaliser on 27 minutes probably gave him enough hope that we could see it out til at least half time before rolling the dice. I don't think anyone in the ground would have expected us to go in 4-1 down at that point. Maciver left to mark Obika at the back post is criminal. Donnelly was very good at centre back, him and Gallagher could really work well there. O'hara getting dropped was bizarre in the first place but what a difference he made when he came on, he was class. Allan Campbell was missing in the first half but so were most, MUCH better in the second half, considering Watt was chucked in due to injuries i was very impressed with him, never stopped running, him and Long up top together has to be a go'er. Aarons, similar to Campbell was much better in the second half. I thought Polworth was one of the only interested well players in the first half, tried to do things a bit quicker than the rest. Tait was very good when he came on, going forward and even more so defensively. a very frustrating but weirdly enjoyable game, we could actually have won it in normal time, legs were completely gone in extra time and penalties is a lottery. A cup run would have been nice but maybe the extra time off for some players is required, personally i'd rather concentrate on finishing as high up the league as possible. I think Robinson and the players can take a lot from the fight in the second half. We are/were in a rut and hopefully that 45 minutes can build some confidence before four massive games.
  2. Only two in it at all are watt and polworth, maciver lost his man at the corner, that man was jon obika. Why mciver is left to mark a CF built like the side of a house is anyones guess. Someone has to take him off him
  3. I am in EK as well and the weather is fine, doesn't look too windy, rain is off for now. don't doubt for a second it's cold right enough.
  4. What I find even more pleasing is when you compare it to the surface at Ibrox, which right now is a disgrace. same with Tynecastle, they are a mess.
  5. St Johnstone looked like scoring with every attack on wednesday night, Donnelly was so far off the pace it was unbelievable, everything he touched led to a foul, his passing was very slack as well. Campbell still seems a bit burnt out but I don't think we can drop him and Donnelly cause we would completely lose bite in the middle of the park. St johnstone are so street smart it's ridiculous, they know how to win fouls at literally every single touch. I don't even know why I bothered going because it was a terrible watch. Every team has a stutter, this is ours, now it's time to stand up and show why we are in the position we are, We haven't become a bad team overnight. My team on saturday would be; Gillespie Gallagher Hartley Mugabi Aarons Carroll Campbell Polworth O'hara Watt Long Watt done well when he came on, won us some corners that we had no right to win, few slack touches but done well enough for me. Whether or not he is fit is a different question but Long needs someone up top with.
  6. What stand are we likely to be seated in tonight? I am hoping, after St Mirren I realised how much i hate sitting behind the goals.
  7. When you say raise spending it all depends in what capacity, I certainly don't think we should now go and put 100k down for a player and offer him 3k a week, players wise stick to the exact same model that is working and has got us to this position, we still won't be able to compete with hearts/Hibs/Aberdeen I don't imagine? What it may allow us to do is maybe be an even more attractive option than the teams we compete with, kilmarnock, st johnstone although I would say we are already there anyway in terms of the platform we have proven we offer players. where we should raise our spending ever so slightly is the infrastructure, in training facilities, in the youth set up whilst building a pot to fall back on if ever need be.
  8. Someone mentioned it could be Stephen Robinson's son who was released by Oldham, a tweet in response to it said good luck at Motherwell with your dad.
  9. Llanelli we lost 1-0 and ultimately won the tie where we eventually played Steaua Bucharest so it wasn't all bad. Odense game we really should have got to the group stages, if i recall did we not miss a penalty and an absolute sitter before losing 2-0 at fir park. Jamie Murphy and Nick Blackman if I remember correctly, not sure who missed what. mental if you don't want a spot in Europe.
  10. anyone any idea on who the trialist is?
  11. I am sure i read that he had played 18 games so far this season so he will be reasonably fit and he has trained with us for a week so should be fit enough.
  12. I seen up until about the second goal due to training, and before that we were right in, dare I say had the better chances? Hylton had one fall to him which he snapped at, Aarons forced a save from forster which I don't think he knew much about, Campbell dragged one a bit as well in the first half. A few times we made the wrong choice, Polworth taking aim from about 25yrds when he could have played in Long, and in the second half Long tried to take a shot from quite a wide angle and it ended up going out for a throw, it's for us fans to see these of course but those decisions are the difference celtic have with there multi million pound players. first two goals we didn't defend well enough, 9 times out 10 Liam Donnelly wipes his man out in those situations but Mcgregor just didn't stop.
  13. I can pass comment on some of the absolutely ridiculous posts on here, regardless of the performance.
  14. Pish from Campbell, has to hold on to the ball better there.
  15. If you read on, I mentioned I wasn't there and that we were rotten. Of course, but some of the complete bed wetting on here is ridiculous. Until performances like that become the norm as opposed to the exception I won't lose any sleep over it. Every team in the league is capable of turning in complete dross once in a while, even Celtic and rangers, we are fortunate that it hasn't happened to often to us this season.
  16. what an absolutely ridiculous read, we played poorly, it happens, this is a ground where only Rangers and Aberdeen have come away with a win, Celtic never even managed a win. We know how difficult is to go there and win, yet this divine right that we should have went there and got something still stands, someone mentioned the midfield not been up to scratch against one of the lesser teams, Livi have lost ONE game in the last TEN, won 5 on the bounce at home. they are now 5th, certainly not a lesser team. Someone else mentioned everyone other than Robinson can see we need a striker, Robinson has made it clear he is after a target man traditional number 9 but he wants the right guy. players come at a premium in January, folk were suggesting we signed Dykes, Nisbett or Ross Stewart from county on deadline day are absolutely Clueless, if you think that is the market we currently operate in then you are going to be bitterly disappointed. I wasn't at the game to comment on the performance, and it certainly sounds though we were rotten, performances like that happen though and I certainly won't be losing my shit like 90% of the people on here, we came back from the break, beat one of the higher championship sides convincingly, beat Aberdeen away from home, got a point against Hibs in a game we really could/should have won. We always knew how difficult this run of fixtures was going to be, and if you were told from Aberdeen, Hibs and Livi you would have 4 points you would probably have taken it, especially when the other teams haven't gained to much ground, Livi aside, after Celtic, we have a run of fixtures in which we can look to start getting the wins on the board again. we are 3rd, with a decent tie to get in the last eight of the cup, lighten up.
  17. Not a great result but not a disaster considering hibs and aberdeen never picked up a win. We know how hard it is to go there and get three points, normally when we lose we bounce Back with a win, celtic next haha.
  18. A loan is probably all we can really go for, our normal type of signing is either on a free or a minimal fee in and probably a risk....with a loan it might be someone with a bit more quality that we wouldn't normally get the chance of signing.
  19. I just wonder who it could be, the dykes, ross stewart shouts would be good but its fantasy stuff.
  20. scored and assited on his debut as well haha.
  21. Sky sports have since deleted the tweet regarding Scott, which coincidentally coincides with Jarrod Bowen's move to west Ham stalling over personal terms.
  22. could be good, could be bad, I reckon the club accepted the bid in the knowledge we have someone lined up cause we were light up top with Scott, never mind without him. Who but? If we don't have anyone lined up, bad business.
  23. hopefully Lyndon Dykes head is all over the shop come tomorrow with all these Rangers rumours.
