Absolutely utterly howling and yet again we p1ss about with our vintage and classical home colours. And before anyone says “who cares what we play in” I care! I want to see my club playing in its traditional home kit. Absolutely awful.

That's undoubtedly true and a huge irritant for me, that for a club that never stops bleating about being cash strapped and rattling the begging bowls we don't half sign some amount of dross, some of which we know from the outset are perma-crocked. When you think of the money we've spunked down the pan in the last year alone on the likes of Obika, Halliday, Souare, Shaw and giving SO'D an extension then it's frightening and infuriating. Kettlewell’s management and recruitment actually mirrors the club itself. Cheap, unimaginable, tinpot, receding by the year and on a one way street to the lower leagues and part time football. It really is a matter of when and not if both of those scenarios happen.

Yeah I’m all for giving every new signing the benefit of the doubt and indeed I will give Ross Callachan the same but his injury record is concerning.

I’m sure Bain is under contract at Celtic so unless it was a loan deal then that won’t happen. I certainly wouldn’t complain if we were able to get him though, he’s a good solid goalkeeper at this level.

Stephen Hughes was excellent for us in his first stint in 07/08 under McGhee. Bob Malcolm was a limited player but could hit a free kick.

The club have confirmed that Fire Suppression Scotland will be our new back of shirt sponsor along with a picture of the words on the back of a kit, don’t know if it’s just last seasons kit or the new one but if it is then it’s promisingly Amber.

I’m sure it was around the end of June last year that our new home kit was revealed so will probably be the same this year or thereabouts. Nothing would surprise me. We just seem obsessed with “doing something different” so who knows what we’ll get. I know some argue that it doesn’t matter what strip we play in but it does to me. I want to see us make the most of our own fairly unique colours. We should embrace them and the identity that they give us but instead we keep messing about with them all too often.

Or is this our latest ploy to show how “skint” we are that we had to acquire a batch of 22/23 Dundee Utd macron training kits and stick our badge on them?

Did Macron honestly just use Dundee Utd’s training tops from two years ago and replace their badge with ours? Even the luminous black and Green thing we’ve seen pictured already is similar to the last training wear macron made for Utd. God knows what monstrosity they’re going to come up with for a first team strip this year. After a proper Motherwell kit last season we must be due for something nonsensical again.

Not the new kit but for some reason us and Macron have produced training wear which can only be described as ‘Dundee United’ for the season ahead. Partick Th will potentially be tough, especially if we play them away from home but it’s more likely we’ll be at home against them. Apart from that that’s a group we should be winning.

Same, I love the League Cup group stages and would take it over a series of pre season friendlies or ‘European’ games any day of the week. We’ve also got a pretty good record in this stage of the League Cup since the current format was brought in and it’s a good way to start a season. I know we’ve played the same sides more than once at this stage over the years but it’s been good for us. We just need to get through this round and then actually start taking the knockout stages seriously. Whoever we draw tomorrow we should be looking to win our group and be seeded for the last 16.

I give every single player who we sign my backing and support. I’ve never came on here and written off a player whom I’d never seen play, only a judgemental idiot would do such a thing, and I certainly am not one of those.
