I don't know, he's always slagging the bigots and sticking up for the wee clubs, canny be too bad.

I'd be happy with one live match per week and a highlights show, plus the Premiership of course. We can't afford to be choosy on this one. If the product is good enough the SPL can negotiate a better deal next time.

Not sure I'd go three at the back, if you play a four you can leave the two centre halves with their lone striker and allow the full back to push on. I think we need to start with two out and out wingers and two strikers through the middle, and look to play with more pace and urgency going forward. If we can do that then I'm not sure they'll be able to cope. Although there aint a lot of height in the side, Saunders can attack from the back post. If Sutton moves from the middle and pulls off his marker too, room would be created for our attacking midfield. Responsibility has to be taken, we cannot afford any shrinking violets in this game. My side would be: Fraser Saunders Craigan Reynolds Hammell O'Brien Fitzpatrick Forbes Slane Murphy Sutton That would give us the option of Smith, McGarry, Lasley and McHugh on the bench, plus Hutchinson and Page if we have a narrow lead to protect! A decent Well performance should see a 3-0 win, here's hoping.

Aye fair play to them, a long way and they did make themselves heard. Should be a good atmos on Thursday.
-
Looks like we are set for watching the Well in yet another language! Having enjoyed German, French and Gaelic in the past I'd expect Welsh commentary on Thursday night, should be fun! As for a result, if the players cannot lift themselves and make amends for the first leg then they should chuck it. Professional pride should be reason enough to ensure victory, so I'll say 3-0 if we have our shooting boots on.

But for me we simply cannot only bring in 6 players. Nine have left and if all we do is bring in 8 or 9 on frees that's fine, the million in the bank from Clarky and Coach leaving will put us firmly in the black and allow for a transfer budget in January if required.

It is unlikely for Motherwell to announce anything officially if it wasn't 100% done and dusted, let's hope its just scaremongering.
-
It is a poor situation for sure, but we at least have a chance to rectify it next week. If it doesn't go to plan then the recriminations can start.
-
To be fair he strolled through the game.....probably due to being incapable of running! He looked bigger than me, yet kept calm and stopped our attacking from midfield, which says it all.

Not sure what to say exactly about last night. Certainly the state the squad was in is down to MMG and to a lesser extent JB. I attach no blame to the youngsters for last night, and some of the more senior pros need to look long and hard at themselves. I liked the passing style, and with more fitness and some new faces we could be an attractive team to watch, but at times the lack of urgency was a concern. The tie isn't over and I don't anticipate Llanelli will be all-out attack, and will look to protect the 1-0 lead with a similar appraoch to last night. If we can play with more pace and urgency we can still do this. Crossing and shooting practice is a must though, and the defence wants hung for allowing the free header for the goal.

We do seem to struggle to get goalscoring contributions from defence and midfield. Serious work is needed on the training field in terms of long range shooting and attacking set pieces. Defending set pieces is STILL an issue too, despite MMG supposedly identifying our need for a big centre half for two years!

Great to see Jimbo tell it like it is. Time for the players to take last night and all the criticism on the chin and stans up to be counted. I'm sure that Jimbo will do a fine job.

Are you related to Coach??!!!!
-
Good luck to B-Mac, here's hoping he can at least stay injury-free, he deserves that.
-
Welcome aboard Steve! Good to have a signing to talk about!
-
Not sure it'll be that high a fee, all the talk has been about £350,000 which is still not too bad. It might be that including all the add-ons, but even then I'd be dubious. Hope its true though!!
-
If that is true then what a shower of bastards! It was Villarreal last year, why do these big clubs think they can treat clubs like ours in such a shabby way?
-
Personally I feel it needs to be AT LEAST six new players, rather than a maximum of. With nine players leaving including the loanees only bringing in six would leave us short.
-
If we can reach the 3500 mark that will be not too bad, given the time of year and the money folk will be shelling out for new strips, season tickets etc. Not just that, but many folk will prefer to go to the second leg for the day out, and it looks like we'll have 2000 at least in Wales.
-
Unlikely to be anyone else, unless we can get a new signing in before tomorrow night.
-
FAO mwellhighland; EastStandWellFan Might be an idea to PM someone you know to ask them to buy a ticket for you if you're a bit nervous. ps Not me incidentally, won't be able to get to the office myself!

Welcome to Motherwell Jimbo and Pedro! It is a big job, but I think things could be about to get all twisty and turny on our rollercoaster ride! Mon the Well!!
-
It won't feel right seeing Clarky play for someone else, thought he'd be a Motherwell player for longer. However his form in the last two years has brought him international international recognition, and obviously attracted attention down south. He does deserve the chance of a crack at the big time, and his attitude on the field and manner off it means we will all wish him nothing but success. Clarky, you were a fine ambassador for Motherwell, go and make your name and your fortune down south. All the luck in the world mate.
-
I think most folk would agree with your thoughts on the friendly game, but we have no other options available for Thursday and the concern is justified in my view. If we do go out to Llanelli it'll be solely down to taking over a fortnight to appoint a gaffer and letting two top players leave when we had a very threadbare squad as it was.
-
It is possible we'll have more at the away game than the home game! Hope we can get a decent support for the first leg though, will be tough considering how poor the squad is, certainly in terms of numbers.
