Not sure I agree with all of that mate. Yes they are on a good run and to be fair playing very well, but we haven't become total shite after 2 disappointing shows. They are our bogey team though!!!
-
Yes it was a very bad night, yes we got out-muscled, yes our passing was crap, yes we never got going until it was to late, but is it the end of the world? No it isn't. I was as gutted as everyone else, but calling everyone and everything from Motherwell into question after our 2nd domestic defeat in 10 is knee-jerk of the highest order. We have a lot of youngsters and new plyers stepping up a level or two, and we will have bad days like this. The important thing is to get behind the lads and help them react positively against the Jambos on Saturday. The booing started early last night which was hugely disappointing, have a think about how the young guys feel about that. Mon the Well!!
-
Always found him to be an over-efficious wee dick, but hopefully he'll see fit to punish the Jambos usual overly physical approach and let our young lads play.
-
I imagine that Jimbo will make a couple of changes for the game, especially after having a 'talk-in' with the team after the game on Saturday. Whether we will start with 4-4-2 or not is open to question, but I feel we are better placed to make tactical alterations that St Mirren are, and that could be what sways it for us. It will all depend on the fitness of Hammell and Saunders, and if both are fit then Crags will probably drop to the bench. If not then Hutchinson will likely come in to the back four. In midfield I'd include Jennings if we maintain the 4-3-3, as he will hopefully dig in to allow the others to play. If we can't second guess him though, neither can Gus McPherson! Any win would be fantastic, especially after the shite Scottish Cup performance last season. I think we'll get it, just.
-
Hopefully we will have in excess of 1,000 Well fans at the game tomorrow night, the fact that you can buy tickets on the night will help. I'm sure a few who aren't going just now will change their minds nearer the time!
-
In his youth team days there were 2 other players called Mark, so they all gave themselves auld Scotsmen names such as Wattie!
-
If we were guaranteed a win on the cup then I'd settle for a draw on Saturday, we can make up the extra points over the next few weeks, but once you're out the cup that's it.
-
I don't foresee many changes, and if O'Brien and Hutchinson are fit I'd put them on the bench to start with. I imagine a fairly tight game, and they will come into it with confidence after wins over FHW and the Bairns, but they don't win three on the bounce very often do they?!! 1-0 Motherwell will do me fine, and wee Jamie is due a goal isn't he?!
-
We got a 'nalty that day too, scored by Andy Ritchie. Strange days!!
-
I honestly can't see him bailing out after only a few months. He will see the job as a work in progress and will give us at least a full season. If he does really well and gets a huge chance in the summer then fair enough, but from a selfish viewpoint I'd love to see him at Motherwell for a good few years.

Even worse than that mate. John 'the keeper crippler' Clark scored two jammy deflected free-kicks before the Frankie boy knocked in a header from a yard.

Think the old mind is playing tricks on you mate! Imagine if that had happened though!!

Stephen Craigan Testimonial Season - Race Night

Getting our tickets tomorrow, should be a really good night! -
Aye it was quite a night. That was the Aberdeen team that arrived at Fir Park without an away goal or point prior to that match, typical Well eh?!!! Smashin' game though, even though it usually means some poor defending was on show! I prefer to focus on the positive though, there was some great play and a few decent goals too. The next day we signed Benito Kemble and a week later we won 1-0 at Shellic thanks to Twads goal, and despite Tealey's first half dismissal!! Strange but exciting times!!
-
Beautifully put mate. 100% spot on. Mon the Giles!!
-
Here's hoping we can get him on a long-term deal like Forbes and Hutchinson, he has been a real find.
-
He is. Surprised to see him on the bench, let alone get on for his debut but he did well. Quite a place to make your bow but well done to him, he let no-one down.
-
They can bleat all they want about shots and present all the stats they like, but the facts are that we played well as a team and for me deserved our point. Defensively we were awesome and its great to see how Saunders and Forbes have grown as players this year. As a team we showed fantastic discipline and organisation, and weren't afraid to get on the ball and make passes. Our composure was fantastic, however we at times put ourselves under pressure by conceding cheap possession in bad areas. Thankfully we stopped that in the second half and were solid throughout. Going forward we didn't create very much, and for me we failed to utilise the pace of Humphrey and Murphy effectively enough. A few balls played in behind could've got us some joy, but everything was to feet all the time. Still it was a good showing all round and the point is a great one. Well done lads, not forgetting Jimbo too who has proven himself to be a very shrewd operator.

I fancy we will play well on Saturday. The big pitch will allow us some room to play, and seeing as Shellic will have most of the ball our counter attacking game plan could work nicely. That said if we are slack and ponderous in possession then they will hurt us. We have to work as a team like never before this season and be disciplined positionally. Our use of the ball has to be spot on too, no errors like the Hibs game or we will pay heavily for that. As another poster mentioned we could win or get humped, who knows!! Team wise I'd go with this selection: Ruddy Moutouakil, Saunders, Reynolds, Hammell Hateley, Forbes, Coke Humphrey, O'Brien Jutkiewitz The likely result is a defeat without disgrace, but with many of their players back from internationals, suffering with injury and them not playing too well, you never know do you?!!! Positive heid on, a 1-1 draw!!
-
Great pics mate, remember that day well! How did you manage to keep quiet in the home end?!!!
-
I think Ross will be disappointed not to play, but that will only make him more determined to be in the next squad, meaning he will try to raise his game even more. In the case of Jamie it great for him to get the goal, his confidence should be sky high, and as far as Motherwell goes he only played 23 minutes so will be fairly well rested too.
-
Great news. Shows the effect Gannon is having on these young lads. Means they will continue to be allowed to develop whilst the club will get a good fee if and when they leave. Would love Slane and Hateley to follow suit soon too.
-
Spot on. The club being in administration meant we were the bad guys.
-
Absolutely agree with that, typical of the Scottish hacks to shit stir.
-
Great prices, but it shows what they have to do to get a crowd inside their midden for a cup tie doesn't it?!! GFITW my arse!!
