  1. Harsh......but fair!!
  2. My dad was a Clyde fan in his younger days, coming from Rutherglen as he did. His dad took him and instilled in him that you should always support your local team. He took me to my first game in April 1982 against Clydebank at Fir Park when we were in Division One. It ended 0-0 but was enough to clinch the championship. So I saw no goals but did witness a trophy presentation!
  3. St Mirren 0 Motherwell 4 A terrific performance from the Well lads with some cracking goals too. The first was a left footed strike by Fitzy from the edge of the box, and the second was a wonderfully crafted move finished clinically by Dazzler. In the second half big Bob smashed home a 25 yarder, and Dazzler made it four near the end. The team also included McGarry, whilst a special mention goes to young defenders Shaun Hutchinson and Jon Page who were up against Flipper and Wyness and did superbly.
  4. There is a lot wrong with the game today, but also a lot right too, its not all doom and gloom. There needs to be stronger links between clubs, authorities and fans to build bridges that have crumbled recently. As the cost of fitba increases so the fun you can have at the game diminishes. The lack of atmos is killing the spectacle, with the cops and stewards to blame. The general cost of following your team has to be realistic too, especially in today's climate. I believe a salary cap similar to what Brisbane suggested would be great too, meaning clubs would be limited to a maximum percentage of their turnover being used for salaries.

    Top 6

You make a valuable point Al. Everyone is assuming it'll be either us or Hibs in the last Top Six slot, but both United and Aberdeen are only 4 points in front so its wide open. I think we'll make it, but only just. Once there Europe is a real possibility.

    Davie Cooper

Amazing how time flies, and how in that time Motherwell have lost another three of our own aside from Coop. Today we remember Coop but also Thomson, O'Donnell and Dolan. RIP.

    Vs Kilmarnock

For me it was a good point considering how poorly we played. A better team than Killie would've beaten us so we have to look upon it as a point gained. That said a win would've been a fantastic boost given that neither Hibs nor Aberdeen won, but we are far from out of the top six or European contention, so no panic or negativity yet.

    Vs Kilmarnock

You can look at this in a couple of ways. Either that as Killie haven't won this year they're due a win, especially as they're near the bottom now and considering our record on live TV. The more positive view would be that records are there to be broken, and we should look at how we're playing just now. For me a win is essential if we have ambitions to play in Europe next season, although a draw wouldn't be a disaster. I'm going for a narrow win for us with big Cillian on target.
  11. Hope so Haggis, would restore ones faith in footballers wouldn't it?
  12. My first favourite Well player was Johnny Gahahan on the wing!
  13. I'm pretty certain that moves are being made quietly by the club to sort something for next season. He certainly seems to like it here and his relationship with the fans will surely help. Fingers crossed we can keep him.
  14. I would start with Cillian and Sutty next week, with a great sub in Clarky to come on in the second half. It is a very nice problem to have and let's hope it keeps working well.

    Fixtures

You not heard about our live TV curse?!!! Would be nice to break it next week though, and if we do then you guys could be in real trouble, especially if Falkirk beat ICT.
  16. He must be due a suspension soon though. Another booking yesterday, and if that took him over the threshold then he'd miss the Dons game, which would be a real blow.

    Dundee Utd

Great result, and just about deserved overall. We should have been further in front at half time but United improved a lot in the second half, so I'm chuffed that we managed to win. Pity Hibs won too but you canny have everything can you?!!

    Dundee Utd

There are conflicting reports regarding Coach's availability, so its either him or BMac in defence, Going forward I'd leave things as they are. We need to win and I think we will, maybe just by a goal though.
  19. Well done Dingus, a thoroughly deserved award. Here's hoping the curse struck at Swinecastle!
  20. Doesn't matter to me what time of day we beat them!!!
  21. Delighted for Crags, a great servant to the club and also likes St Helens rugby league too, top man!! The opposition shouldn't matter, its about honouring a great professional who genuinely cares about Motherwell FC.
  22. A huge well done to Diane and everyone who worked their bollox off on this event, as far as I'm concerned it was a roaring success and here's to many more.
  23. I agree with Flow, we won't fully appreciate how good a manager McGhee is until he's doing that job somewhere else. For the doubters, have faith, he is top notch.
  24. If Buzz does leave, and it looks increasingly likely that he will, then I expect us to sign another goalie to compete with Michael Fraser for the first choice position.
