I imagine JBA won't want anywhere he doesn't have complete control of team matters - which is why I'm doubtful Celtic will be the next move. He's no doubt well aware of the current shenanigans with the Board and the fans.

After Tommy won the First Division, we suffered a few years of parking the bus with little success. The first year in the SPL in particular was parking the bus every week, and still ended up joint bottom with Clydebank, saved from relegation again by league reconstruction. Cooper and Russell joined a couple of years after that, when things slowly started to turn around.

"Everybody else is doing it" might be a fine excuse for a 12 year old, but not a grown man. We should single out Slattery because he's our player and needs to be told to cut it out. Telling other team's players to cut it out isn't as effective. I wouldn't make a big deal of it, but I would be telling him it's unacceptable, and to get focus back on his assists and his shooting, where he is most effective.

On a different note, out of curiosity, I checked Man City's stats yesterday (as they are obviously a team that likes to play possession football). They made 466 passes in their home win, with 84.1% accuracy and 31 touches inside the opposition box. We made 703 passes with 92.3% accuracy and 51 touches inside the oppostion box. Obviously not like for like, but an interesting comparison all the same.

It's not about whether there was an attempted hand hit or not, Slattery's were embarrassing, unnecessary and took some attention away from an excellent footballing performance. There was no excuse for it, and JBA obviously felt the same.
